  • Recently, the missing due to the heinous crimes occurred in succession has been the focus of attention, so measures for these are urgently needed. So, it is necessary that we need to check and take care the weak like children, women, the elderly with dementia and insane person to prevent these social problems. This study is location-based service that suggests the tracking system and way to guard a family and property from the various risk factors which are possible in our life. To acquire the location of the user who is in motion, a communications network technologies were integrated and the system will be able to be monitoring in real time through the website. So, it is convenient and safe because it is possible to use anywhere. Concretely, it was described around location-based service, GPS system, tracking system, process of the service solution and composition for the system. Also, the way to activate the system will be suggested. The final suggested system was verified the possibility through the placement. With this, i will offer effective measures which is more convenient to use and reliable.

  • This paper proposes a RFID cell planning scheme for indoor location-awareness. We theoretically develop four objective functions that yield objective goals significant to the optimal design of a RFID cell topology and simulation is conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed RFID cell planning scheme. We also evaluate the performance of the proposed technique after practically installing RFID readers in an indoor space to configure a RFID cell topology. Performance evaluations are conducted in terms of the following objective goals: minimal number of RFID readers for configuring a RFID cell topology, maximal RFID cell coverage areas for indoor location-awareness, minimal overlapping cells, and maximal indoor location-awareness accuracy.

  • In a microcell environment having frequent inter-cell movement of a subscriber, the amount of signalling traffic rapidly increases due to the treatment of location update and other necessary actions. As a way to reduce such an overhead, this paper presents an algorithm that dynamically allocates subscribers paging and location areas each of which has a different size and shape, depending on the characteristics of subscriber mobility. Mathematical analysis results show that this algorithm allows reduced area management cost, compared to conventional algorithms.

  • In this paper, I propose the algorithm that the location of a magnetic dipole can be detected from the magnetic gradient tensor. I induce the location vector of a vertically magnetizated dipole from the magnetic gradient tensor. Deficit of magnetic moment of magnetic dipole makes the induced location information incomplete. However, if the observation of magnetic gradient tensor would be collected on more points, the algorithm is able to catch the location of the magnetic dipole by clustering the solution of the proposed algorithm. For example, I show that the synthetic case of borehole observation of magnetic gradient tensor can find the source location successively by picking common solution area.

  • The prediction of user location within a building can be applied to many areas like visitor guiding. The existing methods for solving this problem consider limited number of locations a user visited in the past to predict the current location. It cannot model the complex movement patterns, and makes the system inefficient by modeling simple ones too detail. Also it causes prediction errors. In this paper, there is no restriction on the length of past movement patterns to consider for current location prediction. For this purpose, a modified search tree is used. The search tree is constructed to make exact matching as needed for location prediction. The search tree makes the efficient and accurate prediction possible.

  • Tracking the location of patients in medical facilities is important to guarantee the patients' safety and to improve the service quality. Previous studies related to location tracking systems based on Bluetooth communication need numerous prerequisite information and multiple devices to improve the accuracy. In this paper, we propose a beacon-based space partition scheme that assigns different arrangement patterns of beacons to different spaces and composes groups with the similar value of RSSI to minimize prerequisite information and the number of beacons. The proposed scheme considers a pattern arrangement scheme to minimize intereference between neighbor patterns. We also verified the applicability of our scheme to monitor the patient location by using experimental results.

  • Recently, the technologies related with location-based services have been a promising and vigorously researched area in mobile telecommunication industry. LBS have obtained increasingly high attention particularly in domestic area, due to increases in various LBS services supplied by mobile telecommunication companies. LBS technologies are classified by sub-technology such as location determination technology, LBS platform technology, and LBS application services technology. In this paper, I have examined the trend of LBS technologies by analyzing the issued or published patents from 1991 to 2005. The analyzed results are very useful for avoiding overlapping efforts in developing the LBS related technologies, and searching the direction of development of technologies which are different from previous ones.

  • This paper describes a system for location tracking wireless sensor nodes in an indoor environment. The sensor reading used for the location estimation is the received signal strength indication (RSSI) as given by an RF interface. By tagging users with a mobile node and deploying a number of reference nodes at fixed position in the room, the received signal strength indicator can be used to determine the position of tagged users. The system combines Euclidean distance technique with signal strength obtained by measurement driven log-normal path loss model of 2.4 GHz wireless channel. The experimental results demonstrated the ability of this system to estimate the location with a error less than 1.3m.

  • As the amount of the wireless mobile products like a 'Smart phone' used increases, the studies about the Location Based Service (LBS) is highly increasing. Outdoor location determination can use the GPS which is built-in in the wireless mobile products. However, it is not possible to use GPS inside the huge cruise bigger than a normal building, it is regarded to consider Indoor location determination which is appropriate at the inside environment. Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) does not need an extra installation process because it is already installed here and there inside the building. In this respect, Wi-Fi has low price competitiveness compared to other wireless sensor products. In this paper, I will introduce 'Bayesian Algorithm' which can recognize useful space with Wi-Fi signal.

  • This paper presents the method for location estimation with obstacle tracking method. A laser scanner is used to implement the system, and we assume that the map information is known. We matches the measurement of the laser scanner to estimate the location of the robot by using sequential monte carlo (SMC) method. After estimating the robot's location, the pose of obstacles are detected and tracked, hence, we can predict the collision risk of them. Finally, we present the experiment results to verify the proposed method.
