  • Harmony search(HS) does not use the evaluation of individual harmony when referring to HM when constructing a new harmony, but particle swarm optimization(PSO), on the contrary, uses the evaluation value of individual particles and the evaluation value of the population to find a solution. However, in this study, we tried to improve the performance of the algorithm by finding and identifying similarities between HS and PSO and applying the particle improvement process of PSO to HS. To apply the PSO algorithm, the local best of individual particles and the global best of the swam are required. In this study, the process of HS improving the worst harmony in harmony memory(HM) was viewed as a process very similar to that of PSO. Therefore, the worst harmony of HM was regarded as the local best of a particle, and the best harmony was regarded as the global best of swam. In this way, the performance of the HS was improved by introducing the particle improvement process of the PSO into the HS harmony improvement process. The results of this study were confirmed by comparing examples of optimization values for various functions. As a result, it was found that the suggested HS-PSO was much better than the existing HS in terms of accuracy and consistency.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of white noise on memory and attention of local community elderly during computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program(COMCOG). 30 elderly subjects were recruited and conveniently allocated into experimental and control group. Experimental group subjects carried out COMCOG with white noise. Control group subjects received COMCOG for 30 minutes, 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Neurocognitive funtion test(CNT) were used to evaluate memory and attention during pre and post. The most CNT outcome at post was significantly improved than the pre outcome in the both group(p<.05). And the experimental group showed significantly difference from control group(p<.05). The result of this study show that the COMCOG with white noise may be appropriate for improving memory and attention in elderly. This will enable the application of COMCOG with white noise in cognitive rehabilitation therapy of local elderly and it will help guide the selection of the therapist as one therapeutic basis

  • This study illustrates the necessity and feasible process of constructing local collections in public libraries. One of the important responsibilities of public libraries is to collect, preserve, and provide local information in order to enhance the identity of the region and local culture and to maintain and preserve the social memory of the community. However, as the subjects and types of local information are diverse and are owned and scattered by various persons and organizations in the local community, it is difficult to collect materials and build collections. There is, as a result, a lot of confusion in the library field. Focusing on the case of a few public libraries that hold good local collections, this study attempted to add suggestions to build a local collection containing regional history and locality and to promote related services.

  • Tabu search (TS) is a useful strategy that has been successfully applied to a number of complex combinatorial optimization problems. By guiding the search using flexible memory processes and accepting disimproved solutions at some iterations, TS helps alleviate the risk of being trapped at a local optimum. In this article, we propose TS-based heuristics for solving a class of clustering problems, and compare the relative performances of the TS-based heuristic and the simulated annealing (SA) algorithm. Computational experiments show that the TS-based heuristic with a long-term memory offers a higher possibility of finding a better solution, while the TS-based heuristic without a long-term memory performs better than the others in terms of the combined measure of solution quality and computing effort required.

  • The finite volume time domain(FVTD) method gives accurate results for the calculation of electromagnetic wave propagation but it should be noted that the number of sampling points per wavelength should be increased when more accurate numerical results are required. Moreover it requires large amount of computer memory resources. In this paper we propose a modified FVTD that employs a time subdivision. The local time-subdivided FVTD(FVTD-LTS) method is enough to divide the space domain grid with a large step size. This method can reduce computation time and memory resources. To validate the proposed method, sever numerical examples are presented. We have then shown that the proposed method yields a reasonable solution.

  • We proposed a preliminary Data Flow Machine Model(DNL1) operating on the basis of Node Label. In this model, all the PMs(Processing Modules) were synchronized with the content of LC(Level Counter) and were not implemented dy the processing cability on conditional nodes. This paper presents an architecture of a concurrent multiprocessor system which was developed from DNL1 with two additional types of memories, CF(Control Flag) and ETF (Enabled Token Flag). The CF memory holds the control condition flag ('1' or '0') to be referenced to when a node is fired and the ETF represents the firability of a certain node. Firable nodes are fetched to the PU(Processing Unit) and processed. This Data Flow system can be extended hierarchically by a network of simple modules. The principle working elements of the machine are a set of PMs, each of which performs the execution of the data flow procedures held in a local memory, NTM(Node Token Memory) within the PM.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest new methodologies for documenting locality in digital environment, reformulation the Cox's documentation model focused on cooperative acquisition of documentary heritage institutions. This study defines the concepts of locality, space and place, relation of collective memory to archives, and analyzes the four approaches of documentation comparatively. Based on these analyses, it suggests the categories of documenting locality, and the directions of archive portal design for collective memory of locality.

  • The memory compression algorithm CCC-LCP (color-count-controlled local color palette) reduces flicker in the liquid crystal display (LCD) overdrive. Its compression ratio is 1:5.4 for 10-bit images, with a 33 dB PSNR peak signal-to-noise ratio and with five times flicker reduction compared with the block truncation coding. The authors' two-alternative forced choice subjective tests proposed two new soundness properties, the 'CMP harmlessness' and 'OD non-lost (or OD liveliness)', to clarify the functional interaction between the overdrive functionality OD and the compression functionality CMP. The tests verified that CCC-LCP is practically applicable (at a 1.2H viewing distance threshold) for 42" 37-ppi WXGA TVs.

  • The Si-SiO$_2$interface trap and nitride bulk trap distribution of SONOSFET(polysilicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-semiconductor)NVSM(nonvolatile semiconductor memory) cell were investigated by single charge pumping method. The used device was fabricated by 0.35 7m standard logic fabrication including the ONO cell process. This ONO dielectric thickness is tunnel oxide 24 $\AA$, nitride 74 $\AA$, blocking oxide 25 $\AA$, respectively. Keeping the pulse base level in accumulation and pulsing the surface into inversion with increasing amplitudes, the charge pumping current flow from the single junction. Using the obtained I$_{cp}$-V$_{h}$ curve, the local V$_{t}$ distribution, doping concentration, lateral interface trap distribution and lateral memory trap distribution were extracted. The maximum N$_{it}$($\chi$) of 1.62$\times$10$^{19}$ /cm$^2$were determined.mined.d.

  • This study introduces an effective method for predicting individual local tax delinquencies using prevalent machine learning and deep learning algorithms. The evaluation of credit risk holds great significance in the financial realm, impacting both companies and individuals. While credit risk prediction has been explored using statistical and machine learning techniques, their application to tax arrears prediction remains underexplored. We forecast individual local tax defaults in Republic of Korea using machine and deep learning algorithms, including convolutional neural networks (CNN), long short-term memory (LSTM), and sequence-to-sequence (seq2seq). Our model incorporates diverse credit and public information like loan history, delinquency records, credit card usage, and public taxation data, offering richer insights than prior studies. The results highlight the superior predictive accuracy of the CNN model. Anticipating local tax arrears more effectively could lead to efficient allocation of administrative resources. By leveraging advanced machine learning, this research offers a promising avenue for refining tax collection strategies and resource management.
