  • In the study, attempts were made to investigate the safety of the deep-fried instant noodles. A total of 50 deep-fried instant noodles were puchased from a local supermarket. Acid value , peroxide value, preservatives, heavy metals and pesticide residues were determined. Acid value(AV) and peroxide value(POV) of deep-fried instant noodles were lower than the Food Law in force. Any preservatives were not detected in all deep-fried instant noodles. The level of all heavy metals and pesticide residues found in deep-fried instant noodles were fairly low, and pesticide residues in deep-fried instant noodles was almost removed after cooking. It was conclued from these results that deep-fried instant noodles may be no harmful in oxidative stability(AV, POV) and sanitary safety(preservatives, heavy metals and pesticides).

  • The aim of this study is to assess the social value of Ham-Pyung Butterfly Festival in the year of 2011. The tool for the assesment is the zonal travel cost method. The result of the study can be summed up as follows; First, the average individual consumer's surplus measures approximately from 29,700 to 30,100 Won. Second, the total consumer's surplus, that is the social value of the festival, ranges approximately from 7.6 to 7.7 billion Won. The most beneficiary of the event is turned up to be the people who are living in the outside of Ham-Pyung and go on a tour there. For that reason, the central government looks to have the obligation to support and to sponsor the festival.

  • In this paper, target extraction method in FLIR(forward-looking infrared) images based on fuzzy thresholding which used bi-modality and adjacency to determine membership value is proposed. The bi-modality represents how a pixel is classified into a part of target using distribution of pixel values in a local region, and The adjacency is a measure to represent how each pixel is far from the target region. First, membership value is calculated using above two measures, and then fuzzy thresholding is performed to extract the target. To evaluate performance of proposed target extraction method, we compare other segmentation methods using various FLIR tank image. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a good segmentation performance.

  • This study is about an apparel industry in Guro-Gasan where is growing up to the one of the apparel industry cluster beyond an agglomeration in Seoul. The purpose of this study is twofold: (1) to define industrial functions and roles of Guro-Gasan in a value chain of the apparel industry; and (2) to understand whether an industrial cluster is built on the local networks. This study reviewed formation and transitions of its local industries and industrial size, characteristics, spatial distribution and spatial properties using GIS analysis and field surveys. Through in-depth interviews, it analyzed the production system and spatial dispersion of the value chain to understand its functions and roles.

  • Seaports are not longer considered to be single entities for which the main activity is to load and discharge cargo, but rather as fundamental hubs within a complex supply chain serving global production networks. From a public perspective, they hold a key role in terms of their economic impact at the local, regional and national level by generating value added activity and employment. This issue is becoming increasingly pivotal for ports and their stakeholders. The objective of the study is to estimate a regression model of the value added activity and employment figures of 17 Italian ports for which there are no publications available. Concerning port system reform in Italy, the research intends to provide policy makers with a tool to measure the effects produced by ports and their importance to local communities and regions. The paper finds that in all Italian ports, the direct effects are larger than the indirect effects, and the bigger socio-economic effects are found in the biggest ports.

  • This study sought ways to strengthen the competitiveness of local governments using public diplomacy, especially in Chungcheongbuk-do, at a time when it is urgent to revitalize the local economy by attracting investment from domestic and foreign companies due to changes in the global supply chain. The main issues that have recently emerged in the global business environment include strengthening the localization of the global value chain, diversifying reshoring and supply chains, and creating an efficient global value chain through digital transformation. Therefore, this study emphasized the necessity of a strategy for public diplomacy based on these changes, and derived the response conditions and detailed strategies of Chungcheongbuk-do through SWOT analysis. In addition, based on the ABCD model, we set up a Chungbuk-type public diplomacy strategy and suggested strategic implications for upgrading Chungbuk's competitiveness.

  • In the crystalline silicon solar cells, the full area aluminum_back surface field(BSF) is routinely achieved through the screen-printing of aluminum paste and rapid firing. It is widely used in the industrial solar cell because of the simple and cost-effective process to suppress the overall recombination at the back surface. However, it still has limitations such as the relatively higher recombination rate and the low-to-moderate reflectance. In addition, it is difficult to apply it to thinner substrate due to wafer bowing. In the recent years, the dielectric back-passivated cell with local back contacts has been developed and implemented to overcome its disadvantages. Although it is successful to gain a lower value of surface recombination velocity(SRV), the series resistance($R_{series}$) becomes even more important than the conventional solar cell. That is, it is a trade off relationship between the SRV and the $R_{series}$ as a function of the contact size, the contact spacing and the geometry of the opening. Therefore it is essential to find the best compromise between them for the high efficiency solar cell. We have investigated the optimal design for the local back contact by using PC1D simulation.

  • Heat (mass) transfer characteristics have been investigated on the endwall of a large-scale linear turbine cascade passage under a combustor-level high free-stream turbulence with a large length scale. Local heat (mass) transfer coefficients are measured by using the naphthalene sublimation technique. The result shows that local heat (mass) transfer on the endwall is greatly enhanced in the central region of the turbine passage, but there is no noticeable change in the local heat (mass) transfer in the region suffering severe heat load. Under the high free-stream turbulence, the local heat (mass) transfer coefficient shows more uniform distribution and its average value across the whole endwall region is increased by 26% of that at low turbulence condition. The heat (mass) transfer data on the endwall strongly supports that well-organized vortices near the endwall tends to suffer an suppression by the high free-stream turbulence.

  • In the sigma filter, there is a specialized neighbours distribution scheme in which the sigma value is computed from local statistics. It is designed to modify a standard average filter to preserve edges. However this filter is vulnerable to details-enhancement and conventional sigma approaches have been focused on denoising, not enhancing the characteristic area. This paper proposes an adaptive image enhancement algorithm using local statistics and functional synthesis which are utilized for adaptive realization of the enhancement, so that not only image noise may be smoothed but also details may be enhanced. For the local adaptation, parameters are estimated and weighted at each moving window that satisfy the criteria. The experimental results illuminates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Given the fashion customer needs that are getting more complicated and diverse recently, differentiation is required more than ever even from the trend-planning phase where design concept for the forthcoming season is determined. Even though value of information in fashion industry is becoming more critical than any other time in the past, local fashion industry has yet to be approached academically. Therefore, this study attempted to identify the as-is status of local fashion information industry and analyzed duplication and differentiation of information provided by fashion information providers to suggest a roadmap for evolution of the fashion information industry of Korea that is expected to become more active in the future. This research employed biblical study, industry interview, contents analysis and case study. We have studied evolution of local fashion information industry and various types of planning information services as described in the above and expect this study to provide useful references to as-is status of local fashion information industry, for further studies by others and selection of product planning information providers.
