In this paper, an improved gradient direction assisted linking algorithm is proposed. This algorithm begins with initial seeds satisfying some local criteria. Then it will search along the direction provided by the initial point. A window will be generated in the gradient direction of the current point. Instead of the conventional method which only considers the value of the local salient structure, an improved mathematical model is proposed to describe the desired linear features. This model not only considers the value of the salient structure but also the direction of it. Furthermore, the linking problem under this model can be efficiently solved by dynamic programming method. This algorithm is tested for linear features detection in IKONOS images. The result demonstrates this algorithm is quite promising.

Kernel type estimations of discontinuity point at an unknown location in regression function or its derivatives have been developed. It is known that the discontinuity point estimator based on $Gasser-M\ddot{u}ller$ regression estimator with a one-sided kernel function which has a zero value at the point 0 makes a poor asymptotic behavior. Further, the asymptotic variance of $Gasser-M\ddot{u}ller$ regression estimator in the random design case is 1.5 times larger that the one in the corresponding fixed design case, while those two are identical for the local polynomial regression estimator. Although $Gasser-M\ddot{u}ller$ regression estimator with a one-sided kernel function which has a non-zero value at the point 0 for the modification is used, computer simulation show that this phenomenon is also appeared in the discontinuity point estimation.

A Navier-Stokes code based on an unstructured finite volume method is used to simulate the MIT flapping foil experiment. A low Reynolds number ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model is used to close the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Computations are carried out for the whole experimental domain involving two flapping foils and a downstream hydrofoil. The computational domain is meshed with unstructured quadrilateral elements, partly structured. Numerical solutions show good agreement with experiment. The first harmonics of the velocity in the boundary layer shows local peak value inside the boundary layer and also local minimum near the edge of boundary layer. It is intensified as it develops along the blade surface. This is shown to be caused as the unsteadiness inside the boundary layer is being convected at a speed less than the free stream value. It is also shown that there is negligible mixing of the unsteadiness between the boundary layer and the free stream.

Objective : This study was performed to examine the Magnetic therapy decrease the allergic reaction of Bee Venom. Methods : We injected BV to sample group(n=10) and control group(n=10) at 2 points of body, and also sample group was treated with Magnetic therapy additionally. We observed the change of local pain, pruritus, color difference value at 1 hour, 24 hours after injection. Results : Local pain, pruritus and color difference value of sample group were more decreased than control group. Conclusions : The Magnetic therapy decreased allergic reaction of Bee Venom.

Many image display devices allow only a limited number of colors to be simultaneously displayed. in disphaying of natural color image using color palette, it is necessary to construct an optimal color palette and the optimal mapping of each pixed of the original image to a color from the palette. In this paper, we proposed the clustering algorithm using local region block centered one color cluster in the prequantized 3-D histogram. Cluster pairs which have the least distortion error are merged by considering distortion measure. The clustering process is continued until to obtain the desired number of colors. The same as the clustering process, original color value. The proposed algorithm incroporated with a spatial activity weighting value which is reflected sensitivity of HVS quantization errors in smoothing region. This method produces high quality display images and considerably reduces computation time.

In this study, electrical and spectroscopic characteristics were investigated in the pin to plate discharge of 0.9% weight per unit volume saline solution. The positive and positive- and negative-going dc pulse with 5% duty ratio were applied to tungsten pin electrode. The more amount of discharge current flew in negative discharge. The temperature, which is considered as a local value in the vicinity of vapor of discharge, was about 3,000K which is much higher than the value recommended to be controlled. It can be suggested that not only the temperature of liquid but also the local temperature of vapor is monitored to investigate damages on tissue or cells in biological application.

The paper explores the relationship among the personnel characters, organizational formalization and organizational commitment in Korean firms in Shandong province of China. In this paper, the employee's personnel characters include the sexual, job, college graduate, collectivism(value attitude), Power distance(value attitude). The results of anaysis shows that College gratuate have negative effects on the organizational commitment, and the collectivism have positive effection on the affective commitment, the perception of organizational formalization have positive effects on the affective commitment. And, the perception of organizational formalization have moderlate effects among the job, college gratuate, collectivism, power distance with organizational commitment. Based on the these results, the paper described the theoretical and practical implications.

By analyzing the adaptive capacity, market formation and policy direction as functional areas of Technological Innovation System (TIS), the article evaluates the progress of renewable energy transition in the Maldives, with the inclusion of ideas from Mauritius and Cabo Verde. On the policy direction in the Maldives, technology roadmaps produced with assistance from International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) are evaluated. Although there are inducing factors such as the Solar Risk Management Initiative, the progress of energy transition is hindered by the lack of technical capacity and local value chain. The findings indicate the importance of facilitating and establishing industry and knowledge networks, incorporating innovation policies, greater involvement of the local private sector along with international investors, and taking water-energy nexus to achieve complementary targets. The study adds value to knowledge by offering a simplified TIS framework, with a current insight of the energy transition in Small Island Developing States with a focus on the Maldives.

The significance of this study was to analyze the quality value of organic livestock pork for the first time based on the results of managing and testing the cycling organic farming of black pork and vegetables within farm for two years. The results of analysis could be summarized as follows. First, the pork of experimental group with crop-livestock cycling farming showed the excellent quality and high consumer preference compared to the control group of general pork or pork from non-crop-livestock cycling organic farming. In the content ratio of Omega-3 as a representative essential fatty acid, it was 1.46 that was about 2.8 times more than general pork (0.52). In case of Omega-6, it had about 2.5 times more than general pork. Especially, the U/S ratio value which was the content ratio of Unsaturated Fatty Acid (UFA, U) of Saturated Fatty Acid (SFA, S), was largely shown in pork (2.93) from cycling organic farming. Second, it would be necessary to maintain the economies of scope shown in crop-livestock cycling organic farming, and the high quality value of livestock products. For this, there should be a value chain model that could realize the economies of scope and economies of scale at the same time based on scaling and diversification through cooperative organization between farmers. Through this, it would be possible to establish a cycling model called 'community cooperative agriculture' by forming local internal markets through cooperation of production-processing and integration of distribution-sale-consumption. For the managerial activation of this cooperative organization, the government should promote/support the small crop-livestock cycling organic farming cooperative organization in local unit. For securing the reliability of crop-livestock cycling organic agricultural products and crop-livestock cycling organic livestock products, it would be necessary to review the introduction of Participatory Guarantee System (PGS).

The aim of this note is to provide detailed proofs for local estimates near the boundary for weak solutions of second order parabolic equations in divergence form with time-dependent measurable coefficients subject to Neumann boundary condition. The corresponding parabolic equations with Dirichlet boundary condition are also considered.
