성소의 제거와 고콜레스테롤 식이 급여가 흰쥐의 혈장과 간의 콜레스테롤, 중성지방 수준과 혈소판 응집성 및 간 조직에 미치는 영향에 있어서 암.수의 차이 (Gender Difference in the Effects of Gonadectomy and Hypercholesterol Diet on Plasma and Liver Cholesterol and Triglyceride bevels, Platelet Aggregation and Liver Tissue in Sprague Dawley Rats)

  • Gender differences in the effects of gonadectomy and high cholesterol diet on body weight and body cholesterol were investigated by using Sprague Dawley rats. Body weight, plasma and liver levels of cholesterol and triglyceride and platelet aggregation were examined in ovariectomized(OVX) or orchidectomized(ODX) rats with their intacts after feeding diet with or without 0.5% cholesterol. Body weight was significantly increased(p < 0.01) in OVX rats and significantly decreased(p < 0.01) in ODX rats compared to their respective intact rats, and cholesterol diet significantly(p < 0.05) decreased body weight in gonadectomized rats. Liver lobes from rats fed cholesterol diet were opaque and larger than those from rats find control dict, resulting in a significant increase(p < 0.01) in LW/BW ratio. Plasma and liver levels of total cholesterol were significantly increased (p < 0.01) in female rats regardless ovariectomy when find 0.5% cholesterol diet, but those levels in male rats were increased only when they were orchidectomized(p < 0.0l). Plasma HDL-cholesterol was significantly decreased(p < 0.05) in both sexes when find cholesterol diet. HDL-cholesterol were higher in female than male rats regardless treatments(p < 0.05). Liver triglyceride was significantly increased(p < 0.05) in both sexes when find cholesterol dict. Plasma level of triglyceride was not different among groups except significant decrease(p < 0.05) in cholesterol find ODX rats. Maximum platelet aggregation in female rats was significantly lower(p < 0.05) than male, but ovariectomy and cholesterol diet caused an increase te the level of male rats. Microscopic examination showed cholesterol diet caused a lipid accumulation in liver. Results indicate that intact female rats have higher response to hypercholestcrolemic diet than intact male rats and orchidectomy causes male rats more responsive to hypercholesterolemic diet. However, ovariectomy causes an increase female food efficiency ratio to the level of male rats, significantly increasing body weight.

바둑 학습 아동들의 뇌 기능과 기력 향상에 뉴로피드백 훈련이 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Neurofeedback Training on the Improvement of Brain Function & Baduk Strength for Child Baduk Players)

  • 이 연구는 바둑 학습 아동들의 뇌 기능과 기력 향상에 뉴로피드백 훈련이 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 바둑학원 원생 30명(실험군 15명, 대조군 15명)을 대상으로 2007년 6월 15일부터 2007년 9월 15일 까지 실시하였다. 실험 결과는 뉴로피드백 훈련을 적용한 실험군이 주의 지수(좌)(p=.041), (우)(p=.007), 항스트레스 지수(좌)(p=.020), (우)(p=.019)에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 기력의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 기력 단계 별로 표준화되어 있는 기력 측정 문항지를 훈련 전과 훈련 후에 풀게 한 후 채점의 결과를 t-검증하였다. 뉴로피드백 훈련 전 조사에서 실험군과 대조군의 분석 결과 평균의 차이가 (p=.728)로 두 집단이 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으나 뉴로피드백 훈련 후 조사에서는 실험군과 대조군의 평균의 차이가 (p=.021)로 유의미한 차이가 났다. 뉴로피드백 훈련 후 실험군이 대조군 보다 기력이 향상되었다고 해석 할 수 있겠다.

학습과 기억의 생물학적 기초(I):신경심리학적 개관 (The Biological Base of Learing and Memory(I):A Neuropsychological Review)

  • 본 논문에서는 인간을 대상으로 한 신경심리학적 연구결과들을 중심으로 기억의 뇌생리적 기초에 관하여 지금까지 알려진 바를 개관하고자 하였다. 현재 인지심리학자들은 기억이 하나의 단일한 체계가 아니라 여러가지 독자적인 하위체계들로 구분된다고 생각한다. 이러한 다중기억체계의 관점을 따라 본 논문에서는 뇌의 어느부위가 손상될때 어떤 종류의 기억에 장애가 생기는가,그리고 뇌영상 기법을 사용하요 특정 기억과제를 수행하는 도중에 뇌의 어느 부위가 그 제시방식에 따라 약간씩 다르지만 대개 후두염,두정엽,그리고 측두엽의 경계선을 중심으로 한 비교적 넓은 부위가 중요한 것으로 보인다. 장기기억의 경우,그 한 하위체계인 암묵기억은 하나의 단일한 기억체계가 아니어서 어떤 학습과제가 사용되는가에 다라 관련되는 부위가 많이 달라진다. 반면에 외현기억의 형성(즉,응고화)에는 내측측두엽이 결정적인 역할을 한다는 사실을 잘 알려져 있다. 일화기억과 의미기억의 저장 그리고/또는 인출에는 측두피질과 전두전피질이 중요한 역할을 하는것으로 보인다. 끝으로,장기기억의 저장장소에 관한 최근의 견해가 소개되었다.

개복수초(미나리아재비과)의 분류학적 재고 (A taxonomic review of Adonis pseudoamurensis W. T. Wang (Ranunculaceae))

  • Adonis pseudoamurensis W. T. Wang의 분류학적 실체를 규명하기 위하여 본 종과 그 근연분류군에 대한 주요 검색형질을 비롯한 외부형태학적 형질을 조사하였고, 근연분류군과의 종검색표를 작성하였다. 그 결과, 일본특산종인 A. ramosa Franch.는 잎 이면과 엽병에 성기게 털이 분포하고, 악편의 길이가 화피편의 길이와 거의 같은 것에 비해, A. pseudoamurensis는 잎 이면과 엽병이 무모이고, 악편의 길이가 화피편의 길이보다 짧다. 또한, A. multiflora Nishikawa et Ko. Ito는 엽선이 점첨두이고, 최종열편은 선형이며, 원줄기와 분지된 줄기에 인엽이 분포하나, A. pseudoamurensis는 엽선이 예두이고, 최종열편은 피침형이며, 분지된 줄기에는 인엽이 분포하지 않는 점에서 뚜렷이 구분되었다. 한편, A. pseudoamurensis의 특징은 원기재문과는 달리 경생엽에 엽병이 있고, 암술에 털이 있으며, 본 형질들은 근연분류군들과 공통의 형질이다.

고양이 심근비대증에 병발한 안장색전증의 중재치료 증례 (Interventional Approaches for Treatment of Saddle Embolus in Two Cats with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy)

  • 8년령의 중성화된 잡종 수컷 고양이 (증례 1)와 3년령의 중성화된 샴 수컷 고양이 (증례 2)가 뒷다리 마비, 지속적인 개구호흡, 그리고 객혈 등을 주증으로 내원하였다. 심잡음 (증례 1)과 분마성심음 (증례 2)이 좌측 심저부에서 청진되었으며, 방사선 검사상 증례 1의 경우 폐포패턴을 동반한 심한 공기연하증이, 증례 2에서는 확연한 심비대가 확인되었다. 심초음파 검사에서 두 마리 고양이 모두에서 좌심실과 심실중격의 구심성 비대와 좌심방의 확장이 확인되었다. 심장 초음파를 포함한 검사를 바탕으로 본 환축은 고양이 심근비대증으로 진단되었으며, 신체검사와 복부 초음파 검사를 통하여 병발한 안장색전증을 확인하였다. 일반적인 치료를 통한 환축의 예후가 불량한 점을 감안하여, 직접적인 혈관내 혈전용해술이 시도되었다. 혈관조영술을 통하여 혈전의 위치와 크기를 확인 할 수 있었으나, 광범위한 색전증으로 인하여 중재적 시술을 이용한 혈전용해는 성공적이지 못했다.

사지마비로 장기 침상안정 환자에서 폐결핵 발생부위 변화 1예 (A Case of Atypical Distribution of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Bedridden Patient with Quadriplegia)

  • Pulmonary tuberculosis has intermediate prevalence in Korea. It is known that tuberculosis infection predominantly involves the upper lobes, based on the fact that multiplication of Mycobacterium tuberculosis is favored in areas with decreased pulmonary blood flow, impaired lymphatic drainage, and high oxygen tension. We report this case of a 40-year-old man who was brought to our hospital with hemoptysis and dyspnea. Prior to admission, the patient had been in a bedridden state for 15 years due to an injury of the cervical spine 4~5. A 3-Dimensional computed tomography showed predominantly longitudinal distribution of centrilobular nodules along the anterior chest wall, in the left lung. MTB-PCR and AFB culture of bronchial washing fluid revealed pulmonary tuberculosis. This case shows that long-standing supine posture and decreased motion of the anterior chest wall may change the distribution of preferential infection site of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the lung, resulting in a ventral predominance of tuberculosis infection in the quadriplegic patient.

고속 운전용 건식진공펌프 로터-베어링 시스템의 전체동역학 해석 (A Rotordynamic Analysis of Dry Vacuum Pump Rotor-Bearing System for High-Speed Operation)

  • A rotordynamic analysis was performed with a dry vacuum pump, which is a major equipment in modem semiconductor and LCD manufacturing processes. The system is composed of screw rotors, lobes picking air, helical gears, driving motor, and support rolling element bearings of rotors and motor. The driving motor-screw rotor system has a rated speed of 6,300rpm, and was modeled utilizing a rotordynamic FE method for analysis, which was verified through the results of its 3-D finite element model. As loadings on the bearings due to the gear action were significant in the system considered, each resultant bearing load was calculated determinately and indeterminately by considering the generalized forces of the gear action as well as the rotor itself. Each resultant bearing loading was used in calculating each stiffness of rolling element bearings. Design goals are to achieve wide separation margins of critical speeds and favorable unbalance responses of the rotor in the operating range. Then, a complex rotordynamic analysis of the system was carried out to evaluate its forward synchronous critical speeds, whirl natural frequencies and mode shapes, and unbalance responses under various unbalance locations. Results show that the entire system is well designed in the operating range. In addition, the procedure of rotordynamic analysis for dry vacuum pump rotor-bearing system was proposed and established.

경관생태지표를 활용한 생태마을계획 원리 (Principles of Eco-Village Planning Applying Landscape Ecological Indices)

  • The purpose of this study is the practical application of landscape ecological indices to establishment of eco-village planning methodology. Planning an eco-village has to be carried out in the boundary of a small watershed that is defined by homogeneous ecological character. Because the small watershed is a landscape unit it can have unique ecological character. On this viewpoint, the spatial structure is analyzed by the ecological attributes of form, distribution arrangement and composition of the sub-landscape units. Among all of the sub-landscape units, a green tract of land is the main subject of the analyzing entity. Woodland or forest as a green tract of land is a source of biological species and materials. Therefore the ecological attributes of green patches are especially analyzed by landscape ecological indices. The selected landscape ecological indices are elongation, lobes, interior area ratio, convolution of perimeter and proximity of the green patches. These indices represent the state of ecological conditions and they will be the evaluation factors of the landscape ecological planning. These frameworks for landscape ecological planning apply to Obok and Ganggeum villages in Wanju-gun, Korea. A proposed planning was evaluated by the selected landscape ecological indices. Among the selected landscape ecological indices of green patches, perimeter convolution and proximity were increased. It means that the ecological condition of peen paches will be mon sound and green areas of the village will be expanded naturally. In addition to this connectivities among green patches will also be improved.

A morphometric study on stainless steel crowns of the primary first molar using a three dimensional scanner

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the morphologic characteristics of two types of stainless steel crowns (SSCs) for the first primary molar using a 3D scanner. Study design: Two types of SSCs, KIDS CROWN (KC) and 3M ESPE ND-96 (ND), for the first primary molars were scanned using a 3D scanner. The mesiodistal and buccolingual diameters at the height of the contour and the cervical margin, occlusocervical diameters on the mesial, distal, buccal, and lingual aspects were measured, and the crown shape ratio, the smooth surface crown height ratio, and the cervical convergence were calculated. Results: In the crown shape ratio of the mandibular SSC, KC was larger buccolingually compared with ND. In the smooth surface crown height ratio, ND was larger than KC in all of the maxilla and mesial, distal, and lingual aspects of the mandible. ND was more convergent to the cervical mesiodistally and buccolingually compared with KC. Conclusion: In the superimposed images of the maxillary SSC, the mesiolingual and distolingual line angles of KC were more prominent compared with ND. In the mandible, ND demonstrated higher cusps and more obvious buccal developmental lobes than KC. ND showed a larger cervical undercut than KC.

Compensatory change of opposite hippocampus after temporal lobe surgery in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy Evidence from single-voxel proton MR spectroscopy

  • Purpose: To evaluate compensatory change of opposite hippocampus after temporal lobe surgery in th patient with temporal lobe epilepsy by using single-voxel proton MR spectroscopy. Method: Eighteen patients with intractable temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) whose MR diagnos was unilateral hippocampal sclerosis (n=11) or localized unilateral anterior temporal lobe lesio (n=7) and who underwent anterior temporal lobectomy were included in the study. Singl proton MRS of opposite hippocampus was carried out on the same day or within 1 week af MR imaging before temporal lobe surgery and after over 1-year post-surgical follow-u Single voxel proton MRS were acquired using GE signa 1.5T scanner and spectrosco system (TR, 1500-2, 000: TE, 136-144). Region of interest (ROI) was placed in a simitar position for all examination to cover the medial temporal lobes including most of the head an body of hippocampus and a part of amygdala, the parahippocampal gyrus. The MR spectr were evaluated with a focus on the metabolite ratio of N-acetylaspartate (NAA choline-containing phospholipids (Cho), creatine (Cr). The metabolite ratios of NAA/ Cr were calculated from the relative peak height measurement. We evaluated change of th intensity ratio NAA/Cr between before and after surgery, to simplify quantification acro patients, because observed decreases in the ratio of NAA/Cr can be interpreted in terms o neuronal or axonal damage.
