A high speed train passing through a station may have undesired effects to passengers on platform due to abrupt pressure transients. Therefore it is very important to reduce the possible degree of danger by installing partition walls in passing lanes in designing the stations having passing train. In the present study, a pressure load to a passenger on platform is studied for the cases of various heights of the partition wall to assess the effectiveness of the wall on the passenger safety. From the results, it is seen that the pressure load on a passenger may be largely reduced by the partition wall. The heights of the partition wall for various passing speed are also studied based on the safety regulation.
It is widely noted that pressure feedback systems have been devised to damp the fluid resonance effectively in precision speed control-for large inertia system. A compensation technique preserving the natural output disturbance discrimination characteristics at lower frequencies is proposed The load pressure across positive displacement acceleration. The technique involves feeding back load differential pressure, sensed by pressure transducers, though a simple analog compensatory circuit (high pass filter). The effectiveness of the damping is determined by the filter time donstant and loop gain. Nonlinear total hydraulic simulation results verify the possibility of linear model predictions of extending the closed loop bandwidth beyond the uncompensated frequency.
This paper presents the design of reinforced concrete combined footings of trapezoidal form subjected to axial load and moments in two directions to each column using a new model to consider soil real pressure acting on the contact surface of the footing; such pressure is presented in terms of an axial load, moment around the axis "X" and moment around the axis "Y" to each column. The classical model considers an axial load and moment around the axis "X" (transverse axis) applied to each column, and when the moments in two directions are taken into account, the maximum pressure throughout the contact surface of the footing is considered the same. The main part of this research is that the proposed model considers soil real pressure and the classical model takes into account the maximum pressure, and also is considered uniform. We conclude that the proposed model is more suited to the real conditions and is more economical.

Analysis of pressures measured on the roof of the full-scale Texas Tech building and a 1/50 scale model of a typical house showed that the pressure fluctuations on cladding fastener and cladding-truss connection tributary areas have similar characteristics. The probability density functions of pressure fluctuations on these areas are negatively skewed from Gaussian, with pressure peak factors less than -5.5. The fluctuating pressure energy is mostly contained at full-scale frequencies of up to about 0.6 Hz. Pressure coefficients, $C_p$ and local pressure factors, $K_l$ given in the Australian wind load standard AS1170.2 are generally satisfactory, except for some small cladding fastener tributary areas near the edges.
This study performed burst tests using real-scale pipe elbow containing simulated local wall-thinning to evaluate the effects of circumferential thinning angle and bending load on the failure pressure of wall-thinned elbow. The tests were carried out under the loading conditions of internal pressure and combined internal pressure and bending loads. Three circumferential thinning angles, ${\theta}/{\Pi}=0.125,\;0.25,\;0.5$, and different thinning locations, intrados and extrados, were considered. The test results showed that the failure pressure of wall-thinned elbow decreased with increasing circumferential thinning angle for both thinning locations. This tendency is different from that observed in the wall-thinned straight pipe. Also, the failure pressure of intrados wall-thinned elbow was higher than that of extrados wall-thinned elbow with the same thinning depth and equivalent thinning length. In addition, the effect of bending moment on the failure pressure was not obvious.
Pilot operated control valve for $CO_2$ refrigerant is a valve that can perform various functions according to the user's intention by replacing pilot units, widely used for flow rate, pressure, and temperature control of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. In addition, $CO_2$ refrigerant, that requires high pressure and low critical temperature, can be installed and used in all positions of the refrigeration system, regardless of high or low pressure. In this paper, response characteristics are modeled and analyzed based on behavior of the main piston of the pilot-operated control valve. Although various factors influence operation of the main piston, this paper analyzes the effect of equilibrium pressure depending on valve installation position and application, and inlet and outlet orifice size of the load pressure feedback chamber to determine feedback characteristics of the main piston. As a result, it was possible to quantitatively analyze the effect of change in equilibrium and load pressure feedback chamber flow path size on the change in main piston dynamic and static characteristics.
