Data were obtained from 463 elderly living in urban areas. Factor analysis was used for examining dimensions of lifestyles and cluster analysis for classifying the elderly by lifestyles. This study found six different types of lifestyles, Le., the actively self-developing type, the individualist seeing the negative aspects of the world, the sensuous joy oriented type, the obedient to the tradition type, the conservative with discontented attitude toward the world, and the introspective self-fulfilling type. There were significant differences in living status as well as socio-economic characteristics of the elderly among six types of lifestyles. From the results of this study, it is found that the elderly have various lifestyles and, therefore, the understanding the lifestyles of the elderly will enable researchers to capture the problems the elderly face and provide more insight into their living status.

  • This study explores the interior image preferred by females living in urban areas. It also examines the relationship between interior image and socio-demographic characteristics such as age, marital status, employment status, total household income. The target population of this study was 301 adult females living in Kwangju City. The data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, General Linear Model, and Duncan's multiple range test using the SAS package. The major findings of this study were as follows. 1) The majority of the females generally preferred modernity of interior image to traditionalism. Also they preferred feminity of interior image to masculinity and complexity to simplicity. 2) Females in the age of 40s were more likely to prefer simple and oriental-traditionalism image to those under the age of 30s. 3) Those with the higher total household income were more 1ike1y prefer western-traditionalism image to those with the lower. But those with the lower household income were more tended to prefer modernity image to those with the higher.

  • Most research on high-rise housing has focused on low-income residences, and usually the psychological and social well-being of women and children. The validity of such findings are questionable for other populations since high-rise living has served other groups and their various needs in particular settings. Lack of knowledge and understanding about high-rises has represented an obstacle to the accurate representation of American urban reality in residential environments. The review of literature and factor analysis identified Important environmental factors. The survey was conducted in the selected downtown high-rise communities of major U.S. cities. Analyses revealed that there were unique characteristics of residents who prefer to live in this type of housing. It was also found that living in middle-income urban high-rise condominiums does not contribute significantly to the problems associated with high-rise living itself. Even though there were some deficiencies of social interaction and activities among residents, the middle-income condominiums were serving particular residents as maintenance-free and safe place imprinted by a positive image of sweet memories or sometimes by a window view presiding over downtown skyline.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the risk factors for falls among the elderly living in community. Method: This was a descriptive study. The subjects comprised 80 elderly aged 65 years or over living in D city. The instruments used for this study was the MDS-HC V2.0. The data was analyzed by SPSS Win 14.0 using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. Result: Among the socio-demographic characteristics, the significant differences were found in ADL by gender and marital status. Older elderly(${\geq}85$) used more medications than other elderly. The elderly were use average 4.33 medications, but 46.3% of the subjects didn't have the physician reviewed all medications. There was statistically significant correlation between number of medications and accidental falls. Conclusion: Nurses should inspect about the number of medications, drug interaction, and side effects. It would be preventive intervention for falls in elderly.

  • Three dithioester-derived carboxyl acid functionalized RAFT(reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer) agents, viz. acetic acid dithiobenzoate, butanoic acid dithiobenzoate and 4-toluic acid dithiobenzoate, were used in the RAFT bulk polymerization of styrene, in order to study the effects of the R-group structure on the living nature of the polymerization. By conducting the polymerization with various concentrations of the RAFT agents and at different temperatures, it was found that the R-group structure of the RAFT agents plays an important role in the RAFT polymerization; the bulky structure and radical stabilizing property of the R-group enhances the living nature of the polymerization and allows the polymerization characteristics to be well controlled.

The results of this paper is as follows: 1)There are basically all the public facility for maintenance in the kleingartens. B and C Kleingartens have the various public facilities to get the additional experience for members. 2) All the laube is a wood structure, the floor plans are all the same square types. The deck, terrace, and balcony were very useful facilities to agricultural works. 3)The basic rooms of all the laube are usual entry, storage, kitchen, dining, living, bathroom. The floor plan of A and B laube is planned by a closed kitchen, C laube is a living kitchen. The living room of B laube is a variable space, to separating or unity room possibly.
