작업자들을 위한 대퇴 근력 보조 로봇의 개발 (Development of Thigh Muscular Strength Assistance Robot for Workers)

  • This paper describes the development of a thigh-muscle strength-assistance robot, which is a kind of wearable robot. For practicality and commercialization, we proposed three fundamental concepts: the reduction of the thigh-muscle strength, minimized degree of dependence on a powered actuator, and complete wearer safety. Based on these concepts, a spring and link bar mechanism was conceived as a novel idea. The movement of the thigh is transferred to the spring mechanism through the link bar; hence, the elastic force of the spring assists the thigh muscle. Using forse sensing resistor (FSR) sensors and a powered cam mechanism, the muscle assistance is automatically activated and deactivated according to the wearer's movement. The specific mechanisms of the robot are addressed in detail, and the effectiveness is verified by experiments.

무선 센서 네트워크에서 지연에 민감한 정보의 다중 홉 전송 기법 (Multi-hop Transmission Scheme for Delay-Sensitive Information in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 센서네트워크(wireless sensor network : WSN)에서 발생하는 두 가지 지연 요인인 큐잉 지연(queueing delay)과 랜덤 링크 스케줄링에 의한 지연(delay by random link scheduling)을 소개하고 이를 해결하기 위한 새로운 순차적 스케줄링 기법을 제안한다. 또한 모의 실험을 통하여 이용하여 제안한 다중 홉 전송기법의 성능 평가를 수행하고, 이를 기존의 랜덤 링크 스케줄링 기법의 성능과 종단간 패킷 전송 지연의 관점에서 비교한다. 모의실험 결과에 따르면, 소스 노드(source node)와 목적지 노드(destination node) 사이의 홉 수(hop distance)가 증가할수록 제안한 스케줄링 기법과 기존의 랜덤 링크 스케줄링 기법의 지연 성능 차이가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 소스 노드와 목적지 노드 사이의 평균 홉 수가 2.66, 4.1, 4.75 및 6.3 일 때, 제안한 스케줄링 기법은 기존의 랜덤 링크 스케줄링 기법에 비해 22%, 36%, 48% 및 55% 까지 지연 시간을 줄일 수 있었다.

무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율 향상을 위한 링크 비용 기반 라우팅 프로토콜 (Link Cost based Routing Protocol for Improving Energy Efficiency in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 기존의 에너지 효율적인 라우팅 프로토콜은 라우팅 메트릭 중 에너지에 높은 가중치를 적용하여 에너지 효율이 높은 경로에 노드가 집중되고 해당 경로의 에너지가 빠르게 고갈되는 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 무선 센서 네트워크의 불균형적인 에너지 소모는 네트워크의 분할 및 기능 상실을 야기하여 네트워크 수명을 감소시킨다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크의 불균형적인 에너지 소모를 해결하기 위해 링크 비용 기반 라우팅 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안하는 라우팅 프로토콜은 네트워크 문제 상황에 따라 라우팅 메트릭의 가중치를 차등 적용하여 링크 비용을 산출하고 가장 낮은 값을 갖는 경로를 선정한다. 성능 분석 결과, 제안하는 라우팅 프로토콜이 기존 AODV 프로토콜 보다 네트워크 수명이 22%, 에너지 소모 표준편차가 2%, 데이터 수신율이 2% 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

  • In order to achieve high capacity and reliable link quality in user communication, this paper proposes a new concept of virtual cell: the Dual Virtual Cell(DVC), and DVC employment strategy based on DWCS. The proposed system uses two kinds of virtual cell. One is the AVC(Active Virtual Cell) which exists for actual traffic and the other is the CVC(Candidate Virtual Cell) which contains a set of candidate antennas to protect user's link quality from performance degradation or interruption. And also this system aims to reduce MT's overloads and acheive a prompt link change successfuly by introducing DVC structure which makes it possible for network to monitor real-time channel and to conrol communication links. The proposed system constructs DVC by using antenna selection method and improves frame error performance with employing Space-Time Trellis Code(STTC).

Estimation of Depth Effect on the Bending Strength of Domestic Japanese Larch Structural Lumber using Weibull Weakest Link Theory

  • The depth effect on bending strength of Japanese larch structural lumber was investigated by using the published data of two different depth lumbers with the same length. Depth effect parameters were derived from Weibull's weakest link theory and compared to the results from other researches. Depth effect on bending strength was significant for No.1 and No.3 lumber, but not insignificant for No.2 lumber. Calculated value of the depth effect adjustment factors was 0.21, 0.11 and 0.22 by lumber grade, respectively. These results were similar to those results from previous researches and supported depth effect on bending strength of lumber. An apparent depth adjustment factor has been proposed to 0.2 in the literatures. Based on this study, depth adjustment factor was considered to 0.2 as a conservative optimum design value that should be incorporated in domestic building code (KBC) for structural lumber.

  • In this paper the reverse link of the GLOBALSTAR-the representative CDMA LEO satellite system and LEO mobile satellite channel are developed by the SPW software simulation tool. And the performance of the system is evaluated. GLOBALSTAR is designed to give cellular-type service to hand-held user terminals through a constellation of 48 LEO satellites in circular orbites with 1414 Km altitude. Since LEO mobile satellite system communicates with mobile unit, it is suffered from severe multipath fading and shadowing. The fast mobility of LEO satellites makes the channel condition time vering. So, the LEO mobile satellite channel is different from land mobile channels. In this unique LEO satellite channel, it is shown that the performance of the GLOBALSTAR reverse link is varied according to the elevational angle, but this variation is overcome by satellite path diversity.

효율적인 화상자료 처리와 시각 시스템과 CAD시스템의 인터페이스에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Image Processing and CAD-Vision System Interface)

  • Up to now, most researches on production automation have concentrated on local automation, e. g. CAD, CAM, robotics, etc. However, to achieve total automation it is required to link each local modules such as CAD, CAM into a unified and integrated system. One such missing link is between CAD and computer vision system. This thesis is an attempt to link the gap between CAD and computer vision system. In this paper, we propose algorithms that carry out edge detection, thinning and pruning from the image data of manufactured parts, which are obtained from video camera and then transmitted to computer. We also propose a feature extraction and surface determination algorithm which extract informations from the image data. The informations are compatible to IGES CAD data. In addition, we suggest a methodology to reduce search efforts for CAD data bases. The methodology is based on graph submatching algorithm in GEFG(Generalized Edge Face Graph) representation for each part.

  • Conventional robot manipulators actuated by motors with the speed reducer such as the harmonic drive have weakness in the load capacity, since the speed reducer does not have enough strength. To improve this, a new type of robot actuator based on the four-bar-link mechanism driven by the ball screw was constructed. Also, a new type of revolute robot manipulator composed of the developed actuators was developed. But, modelling errors occur due to the off-set from the nominal model since the exact modeling of the complex inertia variation of the four-bar-link actuator is very difficult. To control the proposed robot along the prescribed trajectory, a sliding mode control algorithm was applied with compensation function for the modeling errors. To show performance of the proposed controller, a computer simulation was performed, and its results was presented.

  • Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are the most abundant forms of human genetic variations and resources for mapping complex genetic traits and disease association studies. We have constructed a linkage disequilibrium (LD) map of chromosome 22 in Korean samples and compared it with those of other populations, including Yorubans in Ibadan, Nigeria (YRI), Centre d'Etude du Polymorphisme Humain (CEPH) reference families (CEU), Japanese in Tokyo (JPT) and Han Chinese in Beijing (CHB) in the HapMap database. We genotyped 4681 of 111,448 publicly available SNPs in 90 unrelated Koreans. Among genotyped SNPs, 4167 were polymorphic. Three hundred and five LD blocks were constructed to make up 18.6% (6.4 of 34.5 Mb) of chromosome 22 with 757 tagSNPs and 815 haplotypes (frequency $\geq$ 5.0%). Of 3430 common SNPs genotyped in all five populations, 514 were monomorphic in Koreans. The CHB + JPT samples have more than a 72% overlap with the monomorphic SNPs in Koreans, while the CEU + YRI samples have less than a 38% overlap. The patterns of hot spots and LD blocks were dispersed throughout chromosome 22, with some common blocks among populations, highly concordant between the three Asian samples. Analysis of the distribution of chimpanzee-derived allele frequency (DAF), a measure of genetic differentiation, Fst levels, and allele frequency difference (AFD) among Koreans and the HapMap samples showed a strong correlation between the Asians, while the CEU and YRI samples showed a very weak correlation with Korean samples. Relative distance as a quantitative measurement based upon DAF, Fst, and AFD indicated that all three Asian samples are very proximate, while CEU and YRI are significantly remote from the Asian samples. Comparative genome-wide LD studies provide useful information on the association studies of complex diseases.

교통망에 적합한 K 비루프 경로 탐색 알고리즘 (Finding the First K Shortest Loopless Paths in a Transportation Network)

  • 다수경로 알고리즘은 비루프경로(Loopless Path: 또는 Simple Path)와 루프경로(Loop Path)를 탐색하는 방안으로 대별된다. 알고리즘의 난이도 측면에서 일반적으로 비루프경로를 탐색하는 방안이 루프경로를 탐색하는 방안보다 많은 노력이 소요된다. 바꾸어 말하면, 루프경로 탐색방안이 알고리즘의 이해 및 활용성 측면에서 용이하다는 장점이 존재한다. 루프경로탐색방안에서 경로삭제방식(Path Deletion Method)이 가장 효율적인 알고리즘으로 알려져 있다. 경로삭제방식은 K번째의 최적경로를 탐색하기 위하여 K-1번째의 경로의 탐색금지 상황설정이 필요하며, 이를 네트워크의 변형된 확장형태(Enlarged Transform)를 통하여 추구하는 방식이다. 그러나 이 알고리즘은 경로상에 노드 및 링크의 반복이 허용되는 루프를 생성시켜 교통망에 적용하기에는 한계가 존재하는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서 링크표지를 활용하여 루프를 제거하는 방안을 개발한다. 이를 위해 K-1번째 확장네트워크에서 링크표지를 갱신하는 과정에서 대상링크와 전 링크의 부분경로와의 관계를 고려하여 루프가 생성되지 않도록 링크표지를 확정하여 원천적으로 루프의 생성을 방지한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 비루프 알고리즘은 노드비루프와 링크비루프로 구분되며, 노드비루프는 경로 상에서 노드의 반복이 존재하지 않는 일반적인 단순경로(Simple Path)를 의미하며, 링크비루프는 경로 상에 링크의 반복이 존재하지 않는 경로를 의미한다. 특히 링크비루프는 도시 교차로에서 발생하는 U-턴, P-턴의 덩굴망 통행행태를 설명하기 위한 중요개념으로 확대 정의된다. 사례연구를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘의 활용성을 검증한다.
