HORUS를 이용한 천연페인트의 건조속도 (Drying Rate of Natural Paint Made by Rosin Using HORUS)

  • 로진을 이용하여 제조된 천연도료의 건조거동을 확인하기 위해 건조가 진행하는 동안의 천연도료의 질량변화와 스펙클 이미지(speckle image)를 통한 광학적 변화를 측정하였고, 두 측정방법 사이의 상관관계를 조사하였다. HORUS를 통해 측정된 스펙클 이미지에서는 선형 스케일에서 질량변화는 건조시간과 깊은 상관관계가 있으며, Log 스케일에서는 질량변화에 따른 영향뿐만이 아니라 건조거동에 따라 나타났다. 그러므로 HORUS를 이용하여 도료의 건조시간과 건조거동을 조사하는 하나의 방법으로 추천될 만한 것으로 검토되었다.

Chirp 방식을 이용한 40kbps급 협대역 전력선 통신 모뎀 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of a 40kbps Narrowband Powerline Communication Modem Using the Chirp Technique)

  • 대역 확산 기술의 하나인 Chirp 방식을 이용하여 기존의 전력선 통신기술 보다 고속 전송이 가능한 40kbps급 협대역 전력선 통신 모뎀을 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 모뎀은 CEBus 규격을 사용하였으며 100-380kHz의 선형가변 주파수 신호가 25us 동안 지속한 심벌을 사용하였다. 실험결과 구현된 모뎀은 무부하 선로, 각종 부하 및 잡음환경에서의 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과, Chirp 방식의 통신 기술이 협대역에서 40kbps 이상의 속도를 낼 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다.

불규칙한 3차원 형상에 응용된 구분종좌표보간법 (Discrete Ordinates Interpolation Method Applied to Irregular Three-Dimensional Geometries)

  • The Discrete Ordinates Interpolation Method (DOIM) is tested in three-dimensional enclosures. The radiative transfer equation (RTE) is solved for a linear source term and the DOIM is formulated for a gray medium. Several interpolation methods can be applied to the DOIM scheme. Among them, the interpolation method applicable to an unstructured grid system is discussed. In a regular hexahedron enclosure, radiative wall heat fluxes are calculated and compared with exact solutions. The enclosure has an absorbing, emitting and nonscattering medium and a constant temperature distribution. These results are obtained with varying optical depths (xD = 0.1, 1.0, 10.0). Also, the same calculations are performed in an irregular hexahedron enclosure. The DOIM is applied to an unstructured grid system as well as a structured grid system for the same regular hexahedron enclosure. They are compared with the exact solutions and the computational efficiencies are discussed. When compared with the analytic solutions, results of the DOIM are in good agreement for three-dimensional enclosures. Furthermore, the DOIM can be easily applied to the unstructured grid system, which proves the reliability and versatility of the DOIM.

  • 본 논문에서는 extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) chart를 이용하여 다중 안테나 시스템에서 irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) code를 설계하는 방법을 기술한다. 다중 안테나 기반의 Irregular LDPC code 설계를 위하여 maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) 방식의 다중 안테나 검출 방식이 사용되었으며 수신기는 다중 안테나 검출기와 LDPC 복호기 사이에서 복호된 soft 정보를 주고 받는 turbo iterative 구조를 가정하였다. 다중 안테나 기반의 irregular LDPC code의 edge degree 분포는 EXIT chart와 linear optimization programming 기법을 사용하여 얻을 수 있으며 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안된 방법으로 설계된 irregular LDPC code의 성능을 다양한 환경에서 검증하였다.

개선된 단일영역 열발생량 계산법을 사용한 소형 HSDI와 IDI엔진의 연소특성 비교에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Comparison of the Combustion Characteristics between a Small HSDI and an IDI Diesel Engine by Advanced One-zone Heat Release Analysis)

  • Heat release analysis is a very important method for understanding the combustion phenomena inside an engine cylinder. In this study, one-zone heat release analysis was used with the measured cylinder pressures of a HSDI(high speed direct injection) and IDI(indirect injection) diesel engines, Those have benefits of simple equation, fast speed, reliability. The objective of the study is to compare the combustion characteristics between a HSDI and an IDI. The result shoes that the maximum heat release rate of a HSDI is higher than that of an IDI because of long ignition delay period. The heat release curve of an IDI is more linear than that of a HSDI, thus is similiar to that of a SI engine. The combustion efficiency of a HSDI is higher than that of an IDI because of the smaller heat transfer loss of a HSDI. There is a suggestion here that an IDI engine has broad heat transfer area which include two combustion chambers, the connection passage of combustion chambers, etc.

영상의 모서리 방향을 이용한 전송 오차의 복원 (A restoration of the transfer error that used edge direction of an image)

  • 본 연구는 전송 오차의 이미지 복원에 관한 방법으로 정지영상 또는 내부프레임 정정을 위한 모서리 방향 보간법에 기초한 오차 복원 기술의 개선을 목표로 한다. 여기서 제안된 방법은 블록의 모서리 방향 검출 방법은 스웨터의 손상된 부분을 남아 있는 부분과 맞추어가는 모서리 방향을 이용하는 것에 근거한다 처리 후 데이터 정보에 남은 에러 픽셀을 마지막 단계로 비선형 미디안 필터를 사용하여 보간 하였다. 실험 결과는 제안된 방법의 높은 회복 성향과 낮은 계산 시간은 실시간 영상 처리의 실현 가능성을 나타낸다.

Free vibration and harmonic response of cracked frames using a single variable shear deformation theory

  • The aim of this study is to calculate natural frequencies and harmonic responses of cracked frames with general boundary conditions by using transfer matrix method (TMM). The TMM is a straightforward technique to obtain harmonic responses and natural frequencies of frame structures as the method is based on constructing a relationship between state vectors of two ends of structure by a chain multiplication procedure. A single variable shear deformation theory (SVSDT) is applied, as well as, Timoshenko beam theory (TBT) and Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (EBT) for comparison purposes. Firstly, free vibration analysis of intact and cracked frames are performed for different crack ratios using TMM. The crack is modelled by means of a linear rotational spring that divides frame members into segments. The results are verified by experimental data and finite element method (FEM) solutions. The harmonic response curves that represent resonant and anti-resonant frequencies directly are plotted for various crack lengths. It is seen that the TMM can be used effectively for harmonic response analysis of cracked frames as well as natural frequencies calculation. The results imply that the SVSDT is an efficient alternative for investigation of cracked frame vibrations especially with thick frame members. Moreover, EBT results can easily be obtained by ignoring shear deformation related terms from governing equation of motion of SVSDT.

다분할 해석법에 의한 장형코일의 곡가공 연구 (A Study of Bending Using Long Type Coil by Discrete Method)

  • The induction heating is more efficient for a plate bending because of its easy operation and control of working parameters, compared with the heating by a gas torch. The existing axis symmetric analysis method could neither handle initial curved plates nor be used in the optimization of coil shapes because of its limit of an axis symmetric coil shape. But the proposed method using some discrete part models and analysis processes could overcome these difficulties and show more accurate results in temperatures and deflections of flat or curved plates with initial curvature than those in the existing axis symmetric analysis method. This method is composed of the multi-disciplinary analyses such as an electro magnetic analysis, a heat transfer analysis and a deformation analysis based on inherent strain approach per each step. Traditionally, the coil shape in the induction heating is circular shape and it needs the moving process along heating lines. To overcome this, the 'Long Type Coil' with some linear parallel coils was proposed. It did not need the moving process along heating lines and reduced the heating process time. The results of experiments were compared with those of the simulation.

Passive control of seismically excited structures by the liquid column vibration absorber

  • The potential of the liquid column vibration absorber (LCVA) as a seismic vibration control device for structures has been explored in this paper. In this work, the structure has been modeled as a linear, viscously damped single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system. The governing differential equations of motion for the damper liquid and for the coupled structure-LCVA system have been derived from dynamic equilibrium. The nonlinear orifice damping in the LCVA has been linearized by a stochastic equivalent linearization technique. A transfer function formulation for the structure-LCVA system has been presented. The design parameters of the LCVA have been identified and by applying the transfer function formulation the optimum combination of these parameters has been determined to obtain the most efficient control performance of the LCVA in terms of the reduction in the root-mean-square (r.m.s.) displacement response of the structure. The study has been carried out for an example structure subjected to base input characterized by a white noise power spectral density function (PSDF). The sensitivity of the performance of the LCVA to the coefficient of head loss and to the tuning ratio have also been examined and compared with that of the liquid column damper (LCD). Finally, a simulation study has been carried out with a recorded accelerogram, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the LCVA.

Result of analysis, the maximum heat release rate of a HSDI is higher than an IDI because of long ignition delay period. The heat release curve of a IDI is more linear than an HSDI, so the combustion characteristics of a IDI is similiar to that of an SI engine. There is a suggestion here that the combustion efficiency of a HSDI is highest of that of all engines because of the smallest heat transfer loss of all engines.
