A TRIPLE MIXED QUADRATURE BASED ADAPTIVE SCHEME FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS

  • An efficient adaptive scheme based on a triple mixed quadrature rule of precision nine for approximate evaluation of line integral of analytic functions has been constructed. At first, a mixed quadrature rule SM1(f) has been formed using Gauss-Legendre three point transformed rule and five point Booles transformed rule. A suitable linear combination of the resulting rule and Clenshaw-Curtis seven point rule gives a new mixed quadrature rule SM10(f). This mixed rule is termed as triple mixed quadrature rule. An adaptive quadrature scheme is designed. Some test integrals having analytic function integrands have been evaluated using the triple mixed rule and its constituent rules in non-adaptive mode. The same set of test integrals have been evaluated using those rules as base rules in the adaptive scheme. The triple mixed rule based adaptive scheme is found to be the most effective.

  • In this research, a neural network (NN) method was developed, which combines H-infinity and fuzzy control for the purpose of stabilization and stability analysis of nonlinear systems. The H-infinity criterion is derived from the Lyapunov fuzzy method, and it is defined as a fuzzy combination of quadratic Lyapunov functions. Based on the stability criterion, the nonlinear system is guaranteed to be stable, so it is transformed to be a linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem. Since the demo active vibration control system to the tuning of the algorithm sequence developed a controller in a manner, it could effectively improve the control performance, by reducing the wind's excitation configuration in response to increase in the cost efficiency, and the control actuator.

  • This paper describes the commutation current and ignition angle of current which occures in the combination of silicon rectifier with synchronous generator when the constants of rectifier circuits parameters are changed. This is precisely accomplished by setting-up the analog computer with voltage generating circuits and non-linear elements circuits. When the characteristics of rectification are properly selected in the simulation, this method is able to extend to the connection of SCR and electric machinery. We also expect that this method is helpful to the investigation of characteristics, and design of alternating exciters, self-excited synchronous generators instead of D-C machines.

Analyzing Characteristics of GPS Dual-frequency SPP Techniques by Introducing the L2C Signal

  • Several experiments were carried out to analyze the impact of the modernized Global Positioning System (GPS) L2C signal on pseudorange-based point positioning. Three dual-frequency positioning algorithms, ionosphere-free linear combination, ionospheric error estimation, and simple integration, were used, and the results were compared with those of Standard Point Positioning (SPP). An analysis was conducted to determine the characteristics of each dual-frequency positioning method, the impact of the magnitude of ionospheric error, and receiver grade. Ionosphere-free and ionospheric error estimation methods can provide improved positioning accuracy relative to SPP because they are able to significantly reduce the ionospheric error. However, this result was possible only when the ionospheric error reduction effect was greater than the disadvantage of these dual-frequency positioning algorithms such as the increment of multipath and noise, impact of uncertainty of unknown parameter estimation. The RMSE of the simple integration algorithm was larger than that of SPP, because of the remaining ionospheric error. Even though the receiver grade was different, similar results were observed.

Buckling analysis of thin-walled circular hollow section members with and without longitudinal stiffeners

  • Numerical solutions for the linear buckling behavior of thin-walled circular hollow section members (CHS) with and without longitudinal stiffeners are presented using the semi-analytical finite strip method (SAFSM) which is developed based on Marguerre's shallow shell theory and Kirchhoff's assumption. The formulation of 3-nodal line finite strip is presented. The CHS members subjected to uniform axial compression, uniform bending, and combination of compression and bending. The buckling behavior of CHS is investigated through buckling curves which relate buckling stresses to lengths of the member. Effects of longitudinal stiffeners are studied with the change of its dimensions, position, and number.

  • The redundancy resolution of the seven DOF (Degree of Freedom) upper limb exoskeleton is key to the synchronous motion between a robot and a human user. According to the seven DOF human arm model, positioning and orientating the wrist can be completed by multiple arm configurations that results in the non-unique solution to the inverse kinematics. This paper presents analysis on the kinematic and dynamic aspect of the human arm movement and its effect on the redundancy resolution of the seven DOF human arm model. The redundancy of the arm is expressed mathematically by defining the swivel angle. The final form of swivel angle can be represented as a linear combination of two different swivel angles achieved by optimizing two cost functions based on kinematic and dynamic criteria. The kinematic criterion is to maximize the projection of the longest principal axis of the manipulability ellipsoid of the human arm on the vector connecting the wrist and the virtual target on the head region. The dynamic criterion is to minimize the mechanical work done in the joint space for each of two consecutive points along the task space trajectory. The contribution of each criterion on the redundancy was verified by the post processing of experimental data collected with a motion capture system. Results indicate that the bimodal redundancy resolution approach improved the accuracy of the predicted swivel angle. Statistical testing of the dynamic constraint contribution shows that under moderate speeds and no load, the dynamic component of the human arm is not dominant, and it is enough to resolve the redundancy without dynamic constraint for the realtime application.

대학생의 시간관리 행동이 시간관리 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Time Management Behaviors on the Satisfaction of Time Management for College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was first to reveal the factors of time management behaviors of college students. The second purpose was to examine the effects of those factors on the satisfaction of time management. The data were collected from 400 college students in Seoul by a self-administered questionnaire. Frequencies, Cronbach's alpha, Factor analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis and Multiple linear regression were conducted by SPSS WIN12.0. The major findings were as follows. First, factor analysis of 20 items on the time management behaviors related questions revealed six factors: establishment of standards, reality, overlapping, checking, adjusting and facilitating. Second, many factors such as facilitating, establishment of standards, reality, overlapping were significant in the regression analyses for the satisfaction of time management. Especially, establishment of standards and facilitating had high levels of effort on the satisfaction of time management. In combination, these results suggest that establishment of standards and facilitating are very important factors for high satisfaction of time management.

V-형 리브가 부착된 냉각유로의 형상 최적설계 (Shape Optimization of Cooling Channel with V-shaped Ribs)

  • A numerical procedure for optimizing the shape of three-dimensional channel with V-shaped ribs extruded on both walls has been carried out to enhance the turbulent heat transfer. The response surface based optimization is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Wavier-stoked analysis. Shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model is used as a turbulence closure. Computational results for average heat transfer rate show good agreements with experimental data. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of heat transfer and friction loss-related terms with a weighting factor. Three dimensionless variables such as, rib pitch-to-rib height ratio, rib height-to-channel height ratio, and the attack angle of the rib are chosen as design variables. Nineteen training points obtained by D-optimal designs for three design variables construct a reliable response surface. In the sensitivity analysis, it is found that the objective function is most sensitive to the ratio of rib height-to-channel height ratio. And, optimal values of design variables have been obtained in a range of the weighting factor.

보편적인 기저함수를 이용한 개인의 머리전달함수 모델링 (Modeling of individual head-related impulse responses using a set of general basis functions)

  • A principal components analysis (PCA) of the median head-related impulse responses (HRIRs) in the CIPIC HRTF database reveals that the individual HRIRs can be adequately reconstructed by a linear combination of 12 orthonormal basis functions. These basis functions can be used generally to model arbitrary HRIRs, which are not included in the process to obtain the basis functions. To clarify whether these basis functions can be used to model other set of arbitrary HRIRs, an numerical error analysis for modeling and a series of subjective listening tests were carried out using the measured and modeled HRIRs. The results showed that the set of individual HRIRs, which were measured in our lab using different measurement conditions, techniques, and source positions, can be well modeled with reasonable accuracy. Furthermore, all subjects reported not only the accurate vertical perception but also the front-back discrimination with the modeled HRIRs based on 12 basis functions. However, as less basis functions were used for HRIR modeling, the modeling accuracy and localization performance deteriorated.

주성분 분석을 이용한 HRIR 맞춤 기법 (Median HRIR Customization via Principal Components Analysis)

  • CIPIC HRTF database의 주성분 분석(PCA)을 통해 개인의 HRIR이 정규 직교화된 소수의 기저함수들의 선형 결합으로 잘 묘사됨을 알 수 있다. 이 기저함수들은 음원의 고도각, 청취자 마다 달라지는 HRIR의 변화를 표현할 수 있다. 선형결합에 사용되는 기저함수들의 가중치들은 음원의 고도각에 따라 특이한 경향을 지닌다. 또한, 각각의 음원 위치에서 가중치의 표준편차 크기순으로 기저함수의 중요도를 결정할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 각 음원 위치마다 중요한 3개 기저함수의 가중치를 청취자가 직접 조절하게 함으로써 맞춤형 HRIR을 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 주관평가 결과, 청취자의 음원 고도각 인지 성능과 음원 앞-뒤 구분 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다.
