Adaptive control of a peak current mode controlled (PCM) boost converter supplied by a PEM fuel cell is described in this paper. The adaptive controller with reference model and signal adaptation is developed in order to compensate the deviation of the response during the change of the operating point. The procedure for determining the adaptive algorithm's weighting coefficients, based on a combination of the pole-zero placement method and an optimization method is proposed. After applying the proposed procedure, the optimal adaptive algorithm's weighting coefficients can be determined in just a few iterations, without the use of a computer, thus greatly facilitating the application of the algorithm in real systems. Simulation and experimental results show that the dynamic behavior of a highly nonlinear control system with a fuel cell and a PCM boost converter, can fairly accurately be described by the dynamic behavior of the reference model, i.e., a linear system with constant parameters.

This paper is concerned with a control allocation strategy using the dynamic inversion and the pseudo inverse control which generates the nominal control input trajectories. In addition, an autopilot design method is proposed by using time-varying control technique which is time-varying version of the pole placement of linear time-invariant system for an agile missile with aerodynamic fin and thrust vectoring control. The control allocation proposed in this paper is capable of extracting the maximum performance by combining each control effector, aerodynamic fin and thrust vectoring control. The adopted time-varying control technique for the autopilot design enhances the robustness of the tracking performance for a reference command. The main results are validated through the nonlinear simulations with aerodynamic data.
The goal of any Model Order Reduction (MOR) technique is to build a model of order lower than the one of the real model, so that the computational effort is reduced, and the ability to estimate the input-output mapping of the original system is preserved in an important region of the input space. Actually, since only a subset of the input space is of interest, the matching is required only in this subset of the input space. In this contribution, the consequences on the achieved accuracy of adopting different reduction technique patterns is discussed mainly with reference to a linear case study.
The paper presents a speed control algorithm for a full pitch-controlled wind turbine system. Torque of a blade generated by wind energy is non-linear function of a wind speed, angular velocity, and pitch angle of the blade. The design of a cor_troller, in general, is performed by linearizing the torque in the vicinity of a operating point assuming the angular velocity of the blade is constant. For speed control, however, the angular velocity is no longer a constant, so that linearization of the torque in terms of a wind speed and pitch angle is impossible. In this study, a reference pitch model is derived in terms of a wind speed, angular velocity, and pitch angle, which makes it possible to design a controller without linearizing the non-linear torque model of the blade. The validity of the algorithm is demonstrated with the results produced through sets of experiments.
In servo system demanding precision dynamic characteristics, application of the Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Machines (PMLSM) has advantage of analysis convenience by simple geometry and thrust ripple reduction from the sinusoidal back electromotive force and excited stator. Therefore, this paper presents design of surface-mounted PMLSM with slotless iron cored stator according to coil turns to satisfy the rate thrust. Also, from dynamic analysis for servo application of manufactured motor with heavy mass, we offer accurate range of the DC link voltage and acceleration in rate speed. This is applied to speed reference profile considering system characteristics in total length of moving position.

This paper deals with the Filtered-x Least Mean Square algorithm for a active vibration control in vehicle vibration reduction. Before applying the proposed FxLMS algorithm to automobile, the performance of the FxLMS algorithm is simulated using sensor data of a vehicle. The FxLMS algorithm requires that reference signal be a representation of disturbance signal and the plant model be incorporated into the computation path. To this end, The system identification is carried out to obtain the plant model based on the measurement results. A tachometer signal is used as reference signal. The FxLMS control algorithm is first tested using simulation and applied to a vehicle. Experimental results show that the proposed control algorithm can reduce vibration level in a short period of time.
The purpose of this study was to compare the differences in measurements between cephalometric radiographs and digigraphs of Dolphin Imaging System. 26 Korean adult male and 24 adult female with normal occlusion were selected. For each subject lateral cephalogram was taken. Digitizing with Digigraph Work Station of Dolphin in System. was performed as well. 50 tracings and 50 digigraphs were analyzed with Yonsei, Ricketts, Burstone analyses. The comparable measurements between tracing group and digigraph group were statistically analyzed. The results were as follows: 1. 13 of 64 comparable measurements did not show any statistically significant difference (P>0.05) between tracing group and digigraph group. 2. Three of the measurements with FH plane as a reference plane did not show any statistically insignificant difference. All measurement with SN plane as a reference plane showed statistically significant difference(p<0.05). 3. The measurements which showhed no statistically significant difference were mostly short distance linear measurements while most of the angular measurements showed statistically significant difference(p<0.05).

This paper proposed a feed-forward adaptive position controller that is robust for variable Inertia. The control system consists of PI Position controller, feed-forward and model reference adaptive control. A parameter g(t) of the feed-forward adaptive position controller is adapted by using both the reference model speed and position error. So it improves the transient response and reduces the settling time. And normalization function Is used to make linear adaptation time. The validity of the feed-forward adaptive controller is confirmed by simulation results.

The precision of automation equipment and motors in factories is required, and global motor market has increased significantly. However, domestic motor technology lags behind foreign technology. In this thesis, the precision stability and efficiency were compared with a linear algorithm by applying a non-linear algorithm to a PLC servo motor and an Arduino step motor in order to improve the technology of the motor. The nonlinear algorithm was able to shorten the same driving reference time because the maximum speed of the motor was faster than the linear algorithm, and it was confirmed that the precision was improved due to the low curvature.
Among the state-space description of discrete vent systems, the max-plus algebra is known as one of the effective approach. This paper proposes a model predictive control (MPC) design method based on the max-plus algebra. Several studies related to these topics have been done so far under the constraints that system parameters are constant. However, in practical systems such as production systems, it is common and sometimes inevitable that system parameters vary by each event. Therefore, it is of worth to design a new MPC controller taking account of adjustable system parameters. In this paper, we formulate system parameters as adjustable ones, and they are solved by a linear programing method. Since MPC determines optimal control input considering future reference signals, the controller can be more robust and the operation cost can be reduced. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a production system with three machines, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through a numerical simulation.
