In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed for detecting the product number of each thick plate and extracting each character of the product number from a image which contains several thick plates. In general, a image of thick plates contains several steal plates. To obtain the product number from the image, we first need to separate each plate. To do so, we use the line edges of thick plates and a clustering algorithm. After separating each plate, background parts are eliminated from the image of each plate. Background parts of an individual thick plate image consist of the dark part of steel and the white part of paint which is used for printing the product number. We propose a two-tiered method where dark background parts are first eliminated and then white parts are eliminated. Finally, each character is extracted from the product number image using the characteristics of product number. The results of the experiments on the various steal plates images emphasize that the proposed algorithm detects each thick plate and extracts the product number from a image effectively.
This paper presents an algorithm, aims at practical applications, for the high speed processing and performance enhancement of lane detection base on vision processing system. As a preprocessing for high speed lane detection, the vanishing line estimation and the optimal extraction of region of interest for lane boundary (ROI-LB) can be processed to reduction of detection region in which high speed processing is enabled. Image feature information is extracted only in the ROI-LB. Road lane is extracted using a non-parametric model fitting and Hough transform within the ROI-LB. With simultaneous processing of noise reduction and edge enhancement using the Laplacian filter, the reliability of feature extraction can be increased for various road lane patterns. Since outliers of edge at each block can be removed with clustering of edge orientation for each block within the ROI-LB, the performance of lane detection can be greatly improved. The various real road experimental results are presented to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
In the case of Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS), common telecommunication systems typically have Rayleigh distributed amplitude characteristics. However measurement result of Ultra Wideband (UWB) Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) system which is proposed as one of candidate standard in IEEE 802. 15. 3a for Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) shows that it has independent log normal fading in each cluster as well as in each ray within the cluster. Based on this clustering phenomenon observed, MB-OFDM channel model derived from Saleh-Valenzuela model with a couple of slight modifications. In this paper, channel remodeling for RF frequency hopping in MB-OFDM system is achieved, and performances of MB-OFDM system for each channel mode and data rate are verified using modified channel model.
In this paper, we proposed a contour shape description method which use the CFR(contour fluctuation ratio) feature. The CFR is the ratio of the line length to the curve length of a contour segment. The line length means the distance of two end points on a contour segment, and the curve length means the sum of distance of all adjacent two points on a contour segment. We should acquire rotation and scale invariant contour segments because each CFR is computed from contour segments. By using the interleaved contour segment of which length is proportion to the entire contour length and which is generated from all the points on contour, we could acquire rotation and scale invariant contour segments. The CFR can describes the local or global feature of contour shape according to the unit length of contour segment. Therefore we describe the shape of objects with the feature vector which represents the distribution of CFRs, and calculate the similarity by comparing the feature vector of corresponding unit length segments. We implemented the proposed method and experimented with rotated and scaled 165 fish images of fifteen types. The experimental result shows that the proposed method is not only invariant to rotation and scale but also superior to NCCH and TRP method in the clustering power.
When the fire occur in the deeply underground subway station, the difficulties of passenger evacuation are expected because of many stairs to the exit. In this study, SOONGSIL-University station (7 line, 47m depth) is the one of the deepest subway stations of the each line in the Seoul metro. The numerical computational-simulation was performed for the fire driven flow in the subway station. Hot and smoke flow was analyzed from the simulation results. The proper plan of evacuation against fire was considered through the results. The fire driven flow was simulated using FDS code in which LES method was applied. The Heat Release Rate was 10MW and the ultrafast model was applied for the growing model of the fire source. The proper mesh size was determined from the characteristic length of fire size. The parallel computational method was employed to compute the flow and heat eqn's in the meshes, which are about 10,000,000, with 6cpu of the linux clustering machine.
Objective: The first stage in both breeding and programs for the conservation of genetic resources are the identification of genetic diversity in the relevant population. The aim of the present study is to identify genetic diversity of six brown layer pure chicken lines (Rhode Island Red [RIRI, RIRII], Barred Rock [BARI, BARII], Columbian Rock [COL], and line 54 [L-54]) with microsatellite markers. Furthermore, the study aims to employ its findings to discuss the possibilities for the conservation and sustainable use of these lines that have been bred as closed populations for a long time. Methods: In the present study, a total number of 180 samples belonging to RIRI (n = 30), RIRII (n = 30), BARI (n = 30), BARII (n = 30), L-54 (n = 30), and COL (n = 30) lines were genotyped using 22 microsatellite loci. Microsatellite markers are extremely useful tools in the identification of genetic diversity since they are distributed throughout the eukaryotic genome in multitudes, demonstrate co-dominant inheritance and they feature a high rate of polymorphism and repeatability. Results: In this study, we found all loci to be polymorphic and identified the average number of alleles per locus to be in the range between 4.41 (BARI) and 5.45 (RIRI); the observed heterozygosity to be in the range between 0.31 (RIRII) and 0.50 (BARII); and $F_{IS}$ (inbreeding coefficient) values in the range between 0.16 (L-54) and 0.46 (RIRII). The $F_{IS}$ values obtained in this context points out to a deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium due to heterozygote deficiency in six different populations. The Neighbour-Joining tree, Factorial Correspondence Analysis and STRUCTURE clustering analyzes showed that six brown layer lines were separated according to their genetic origins. Conclusion: The results obtained from the study indicate a medium level of genetic diversity, high level inbreeding in chicken lines and high level genetic differentiation between chicken lines.
The P-3C maritime patrol aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Navy is equipped with various sensor devices (LRUs, line replace units) for tactical data collection. Depending on the characteristics of the sensor device, it operates with various communication protocols such as IEEE 802.3, MIL-STD-1553A/B, and ARINC-429. In addition, the collected tactical data is processed in the tactical station for mission operators, and this tactical station constitutes a clustering network on Gigabit Ethernet and operates in a distributed processing method. For communication with the sensor device, a specific tactical station mounts a peripheral device (eg. ARINC-429 interface card). The problem is that the performance of the entire distributed processing according to the peripheral device control and communication relay of this specific device is degraded, and even the operation stop of the tactical station has a problem of disconnecting the communication with the related sensor device. In this paper, we propose a method to mount a separate gateway to solve this problem, and the validity of the proposed application is demonstrated through the operation result of this gateway.
Until now, research on consumers' purchasing behavior has primarily focused on psychological aspects or depended on consumer surveys. However, there may be a gap between consumers' self-reported perceptions and their observable actions. In response, this study aimed to investigate consumer purchasing behavior utilizing a big data approach. To this end, this study investigated the purchasing patterns of fashion items, both online and in retail stores, from a data-driven perspective. We also investigated whether individual consumers switched between online websites and retail establishments for making purchases. Data on 516,474 purchases were obtained from fashion companies. We used association rule analysis and K-means clustering to identify purchase patterns that were influenced by customer loyalty. Furthermore, sequential pattern analysis was applied to investigate the usage patterns of online and offline channels by consumers. The results showed that high-loyalty consumers mainly purchased infrequently bought items in the brand line, as well as high-priced items, and that these purchase patterns were similar both online and in stores. In contrast, the low-loyalty group showed different purchasing behaviors for online versus in-store purchases. In physical environments, the low-loyalty consumers tended to purchase less popular or more expensive items from the brand line, whereas in online environments, their purchases centered around items with relatively high sales volumes. Finally, we found that both high and low loyalty groups exclusively used a single preferred channel, either online or in-store. The findings help companies better understand consumer purchase patterns and build future marketing strategies around items with high brand centrality.

The purpose of this study is to propose a new method of analysis focusing on interconnections between species rather than traditional biodiversity analysis, which represents ecosystems in terms of species and individual counts such as species diversity and species richness. This new approach aims to enhance our understanding of ecosystem networks. Utilizing data from the 4th National Natural Environment Survey (2014-2018), the following eight taxonomic groups were targeted for our study: herbaceous plants, woody plants, butterflies, Passeriformes birds, mammals, reptiles & amphibians, freshwater fishes, and benthonic macroinvertebrates. A co-occurrence frequency analysis was conducted using nationwide data collected over five years. As a result, in all eight taxonomic groups, the degree value represented by a linear regression trend line showed a slope of 0.8 and the weighted degree value showed an exponential nonlinear curve trend line with a coefficient of determination (R2) exceeding 0.95. The average value of the clustering coefficient was also around 0.8, reminiscent of well-known social phenomena. Creating a combination set from the species list grouped by temporal information such as survey date and spatial information such as coordinates or grids is an easy approach to discern species distributed regionally and locally. Particularly, grouping by species or taxonomic groups to produce data such as co-occurrence frequency between survey points could allow us to discover spatial similarities based on species present. This analysis could overcome limitations of species data. Since there are no restrictions on time or space, data collected over a short period in a small area and long-term national-scale data can be analyzed through appropriate grouping. The co-occurrence frequency analysis enables us to measure how many species are associated with a single species and the frequency of associations among each species, which will greatly help us understand ecosystems that seem too complex to comprehend. Such connectivity data and graphs generated by the co-occurrence frequency analysis of species are expected to provide a wealth of information and insights not only to researchers, but also to those who observe, manage, and live within ecosystems.

This study analyzes human development convergence and the impact of funds transfer to the regions using σ and β-convergence analysis method. Observations were made in all Indonesia's provinces in the period 2010-2019. The coefficient of variation calculation shows a dispersion in the inequality of human development, which means that convergence occurred. This is also documented by the clustering analysis results developed in the study. The results are in line with the hypothesis of neoclassical theory, which shows the tendency for provinces with lower human development levels to grow relatively faster. The dynamic panel data approach with the GMM model shows that a model built with explanatory variables for transfer of funds to regions may lead to the process of convergence of human development - 2.21% per year or 31 years to cover the half-life of convergence. This is a consequence of the Special Allocation Fund and the Village Fund, which positively impact the convergence process, and the General Allocation Fund and the Revenue Sharing Fund with negative signs slowing the convergence process. This evidence opens opportunities to review the justification of the weighting component in determining the amount of funds transferred to the region to accelerate the convergence process of human development.
