  • In this paper, we present the new method for joint aspect inspecting system. We use the image processing and laser maker for light source. We can find the matrial joint status through processing the line pattern which is made by laser maker. To get the line pattern, in first, we had done the preprocss of threshold. If the shape of line had over two segments, then the joint status is abnormal. We show our system efficency by experiment on tire facility.

  • This paper presents a method where the best focues points are calculated using line fitting. Two datasets are selected for each pixel based on the maximum value which is calculated using Laplacian operator. Then linear regression model is used to find lines that approximate these datasets. The best fit lines are found using least squares method. After approximating the two lines, their intersection point is calculated and weights are assigned to calculate the new value for the depth map.

  • The paper presents an efficient method of extracting line segment in a local map of a robot's surroundings. The local map is composed of 2-D grids that have both the occupancy and orientation probabilities using sonar sensors. To find the shape of an object in a local map from orientation information, the orientations are clustered into several groups according to their values. The line segment is , then, extracted from the clusters based on Hough transform. The proposed technique is illustrated by experiments in an indoor environment.

  • Membrane structures, a kind of lightweight soft structural system, are used for spatial structures. The design procedure of membrane structures are needed to do shape finding, stress-deformation analysis and cutting pattern generation, because the material property has strong axial stiffness, but little bending stiffness. The problem of cutting pattern is highly varied in their size, curvature and material stiffness. So, the approximation inherent in cutting pattern generation methods is quite different. Therefore the ordinary computer software of structural analysis & design is not suitable for membrane structures. In this study, we develop the program for cutting pattern generation using geodesic line, and investigate the result of example's cutting pattern in detail.

  • We discovered that each distinct shape of the roof-shaped peaks of (111) facets, which are generated on (110) cross-section of the directly bonded (100) silicon wafer pairs after KOH etching, can be mapped to one of three conditions of the interfacial oxide existing at the bonding interface as follows. That is, thick solid line can be mapped to stabilization, thin solid line to disintegration, and thin broken line to spheroidization. also we confirmed that most of the interfacial oxides of a well-aligned wafer pairs were disintegrated and spheroidized through high-temperature annealing process above 900$^{\circ}$C while the oxide was stabilized persistently when two wafers are bonded rotationally around their common axis perpendicular to the wafer planes.

  • The methodology of automatic generation of tool path for rough cutting of a sculptured surface is proposed with the improved contouring method, unequal level line machining. Considering the surface shape and the diameter of the endmill, the distance between level lines is obtained. To improve MMR, initial rough cutting is processed with the large diameter endmill and the remained material is removed by the relatively small diameter endmill. Tool path is generated from the offset curve of respective level line and the interferences between the tool and workpiece are automatically avoided. After generating NC part program, the sculptured surface is machined at the vertical machining center. From the experimental results, total cutting length and machining time are reduced more effectively than conventional contouring methods.

  • The safe navigation of a mobile robot requires the recognition of the environment in terms of vision processing. To be guided in the given path, the robot should acquire the information about where the wall and corridor are located. Also unexpected obstacles should be detected as rapid as possible for the safe obstacle avoidance. In the paper, we assume that the mobile robot should be navigated in the flat surface. In terms of this assumption we simplify the correspondence problem by the free navigation surface and matching features in that coordinate system. Basically, the vision processing system adopts line segment of edge as the feature. The extracted line segments of edge out of both image are matched in the free nevigation surface. According to the matching result, each line segment is labeled by the attributes regarding obstacle and free surface and the 3D shape of obstacle is interpreted. This proposed vision processing method is verified in terms of various simulations and experimentation using real images.

  • To study and locate partial discharge(PD) and analyze the transient state of power transformer, there is a need for a high frequency model of transformer winding and calculation of its parameters. Due to the high frequency nature of partial discharge phenomenon, there is a need for an accurate model for this frequency range. To attain this goal, a Multi-Conductor Transmission Line (MTL) model is used in this paper for modeling this transformer winding. In order that the MTL model can properly simulate the transformer behavior within a frequency range it is required that its parameters be accurately calculated. In this paper, all the basic parameters of this model are calculated by the use of Finite Element Method (FEM) for a 20kV winding of a distribution transformer. The comparison of the results obtained from this model with the obtained shape of the waves by the application of PD pulse to the winding in laboratory environment shows the validity and accuracy of this model.

  • We propose a DP-based formulation for matching line patterns by defining a robust and stable geometric representation that is based on the conceptual organizations. Usually, the endpoint proximity and collinearity of image lines, as two main conceptual organization groups, are useful cues to match the model shape in the scene. As the endpoint proximity, we detect junctions from image lines. We then search for junction groups by using geometric constraint between the junctions. A junction chain similar to the model chain is searched in the scene, based on a local comparison. A Dynamic Programming-based search algorithm reduces the time complexity for the search of the model chain in the scene. Our system can find a reasonable matching, although there exist severely distorted objects in the scene. We demonstrate the feasibility of the DP-based matching method using both synthetic and real images.

  • Ballast is an important component of railway track structures. The granular ballast can be modelled using [mite or discrete element methods. The DE method has advantages to enable us to analyze the microstructure of granular materials and to exhibit information which cannot be assessed using FE methods. In this paper, sleeper, the ballast, and ballast mat in the high-speed railroad line are modelled using two-dimensional discrete circle and line elements. The stress transferred from the sleeper via the ballast to the subgrade is analyzed. In addition, the shape and angle of stress distribution of ballast bed is evaluated with different boundary conditions for the high-speed railroad line.
