For high frequency microstrip line modelling, a fast inductance extraction technique using an adaptive PEEC(partial element equivalent circuit) grid is proposed. The grid refinement technique is based on the current distribution depend on the excitation frequencies and the geometry of the microstrip lines. The adaptive ids are refined mainly in the area where heavy currents reside. This technique is applied to the inductance extraction of the microstrip lines. The results show fast convergence, and this adaptive technique is efficient to reduce computing time and the number of grids.

This paper proposes an extraction method which extracts two different thematic maps, which have different line thickness from each other in a raster image that contains the two thematic maps. In the proposed method, the depth of each pixel is calculated according to the amount of pixels in its surrounding neighborhood, and then the thinning is performed. By using depth threshold, two thematic maps are first extracted from the thinning result. There are noise images and skeleton disconnection in the lines of each extracted thematic map. Each thematic map extraction is finally completed after removing the noise images and connecting the disconnected lines. Through the experiment, we showed that the proposed method could be used for the extraction of each thematic map of a raster image which included two thematic maps.

In this study, we propose the automatic extraction method of Rescue Requests from Drone Images. A central object is extracted from each image by using central object extraction method[7] before classification. A central object in an images are defined as a set of regions that is lined around center of the image and has significant texture distribution against its surrounding. In this case of artificial objects, edge of straight line is often found, and texture is regular and directive. However, natural object's case is not. Such characteristics are extracted using Edge direction histogram energy and texture Gabor energy. The Edge direction histogram energy calculated based on the direction of only non-circular edges. The texture Gabor energy is calculated based on the 24-dimension Gebor filter bank. Maximum and minimum energy along direction in Gabor filter dictionary is selected. Finally, the extracted rescue requestor object areas using the dominant features of the objects. Through experiments, we obtain accuracy of more than 75% for extraction method using each features.

This research aims to provide a building area extraction approach over the areas where data acquisition is impossible through field surveying, aerial photography and lidar scanning. Hence, high-resolution satellite images, which have high accessibility over the earth, are utilized for the automated building extraction in this study. 3D point clouds or DSM (Digital Surface Models), derived from the stereo image matching process, provides low quality of building area extraction due to their high level of noises and holes. In this regards, this research proposes a hybrid building area extraction approach which utilizes 3D point clouds (from image matching), and color and linear information (from imagery). First of all, ground and non-ground points are separated from 3D point clouds; then, the initial building hypothesis is extracted from the non-ground points. Secondly, color based building hypothesis is produced by considering the overlapping between the initial building hypothesis and the color segmentation result. Afterwards, line detection and space partitioning results are utilized to acquire the final building areas. The proposed approach shows 98.44% of correctness, 95.05% of completeness, and 1.05m of positional accuracy. Moreover, we see the possibility that the irregular shapes of building areas can be extracted through the proposed approach.

Fault locating is an important element to minimize the damage of power system. The computation error of fault locator may occur by the influence of the DC offset component during phasor extraction. In order to minimize the bad effects of DC offset component, this paper presents an improved fault location algorithm based on a DC offset removal filter for short fault in a double circuit transmission line. We have modeled a 154kV double circuit transmission line by the ATP software to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed fault locating algorithm. The line to line short faults were simulated and then collected simulation data was used. It can be seen that the error rate of fault locating estimation by the proposed algorithm decreases than the error rate of fault locating estimation by conventional algorithm.

This study established an analytical method to simultaneously determine six organophosphorous pesticides [methyldemetone-S, diazinon, fenitrothion, parathion, phentoate, and O-ethyl O-(4-nitrophenyl) phenylphosphonothioate (EPN)] and carbaryl in water using a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) system coupled with on-line micro extraction by packed sorbent (MEPS) and programmed temperature vaporizer (PTV) injector. Polystyrene divinylbenzene (PDVB) was used as a sorbent of MEPS. The effects of elution solvents, pH, elution volume and draw-eject cycles of samples on sample pretreatment process were investigated. Also, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) and the recovery of the pesticides in environmental samples were evaluated. The elution was performed using $30{\mu}L$ of a mixed solvent (acetone : dichloromethane = 80 : 20 (v/v)). Sample pretreatment processes were optimized with seven cycles of draw-eject of sample (1 mL) spiking an internal standard and sulfuric acid. At lower pH, the analytical sensitivity of diazinon decreased, but that of carbaryl increased. The method detection limit and the limit of quantification for this method were 0.02~0.18 and $0.08{\sim}0.59{\mu}g/L$, respectively. The method precision and accuracy were 1.5~11.5% and 83.3~129.8%, respectively, at concentrations of $0.5{\sim}5.0{\mu}g/L$. The recovery rates for all the pesticides except carbaryl in various environmental samples ranged 75.7~129.3%. The recovery rate of carbaryl in effluent sample was over 200% whereas carbaryl in drinking water, groundwater, and river water were in the acceptable range.

An effective statistical feature extraction approach of data sampling of fault in the combined transmission system is presented in this paper. The proposed algorithm leads to high accuracy at minimum cost to predict fault location and fault type classification. This algorithm requires impedance measurement data from one end of the transmission line. Modal decomposition is used to extract positive sequence impedance. Then, the fault signal is decomposed by using discrete wavelet transform. Statistical sampling is used to extract appropriate fault features as benchmark of decomposed signal to train classifier. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to illustrate the performance of statistical sampling performance. The overall time of sampling is not exceeding 1 1/4 cycles, taking into account the interval time. The proposed method takes two steps of sampling. The first step takes 3/4 cycle of during-fault and the second step takes 1/4 cycle of post fault impedance. The interval time between the two steps is assumed to be 1/4 cycle. Extensive studies using MATLAB software show accurate fault location estimation and fault type classification of the proposed method. The classifier result is presented and compared with well-established travelling wave methods and the performance of the algorithms are analyzed and discussed.
So far, investigation of environmental pollution has been achieved in field study. This remains the most exhaustive approach, current dimensions of environmental researches and their inherent complexity require that relatively inexpensive and simple laboratory procedures are developed to make possible the screening of large numbers of sites and samples. At this point. microbioassay has been high-lighted. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the water pollution using microbioassay. Two microbioassay methods were optimized and validated for the sensitive and quantitative determination of total toxic effects in the water. EROD(Ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase) microbioassay was focused to detect PARs, PCBs and dioxinlike components in the water and E-screen assay to xenoestrogens. The EROD microbioassay was executed in rat hepatoma cell line, H4IIE and E-screen assay in MCF7-BUS cell line. Kumho river was selected for this study. 5ι of river water was extracted using combined solid-phase extraction in static adsorption mode with soxhlet extraction. Pollutants adsorbed to the XAD-4 resin were recovered by elution with ethyl acetate and methylene chloride (1 : 9). Toxic effects of extracts were determined by EROD-microbioassay and E-screen assay. EROD activities of water samples were 7.24-72.24 ng/ι MEQ. The estrogenic effect of various water samples is quantitatively evaluated by EEQ. The EEQ of samples range from 0.05 to 6.07 ng-EEQ/ι. These results suggested that Kumho river was highly polluted with organic toxic chemicals.
