IIoTBC: A Lightweight Block Cipher for Industrial IoT Security

  • The number of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) users is increasing rapidly. Lightweight block ciphers have started to be used to protect the privacy of users. Hardware-oriented security design should fully consider the use of fewer hardware devices when the function is fully realized. Thus, this paper designs a lightweight block cipher IIoTBC for industrial IoT security. IIoTBC system structure is variable and flexibly adapts to nodes with different security requirements. This paper proposes a 4×4 S-box that achieves a good balance between area overhead and cryptographic properties. In addition, this paper proposes a preprocessing method for 4×4 S-box logic gate expressions, which makes it easier to obtain better area, running time, and power data in ASIC implementation. Applying it to 14 classic lightweight block cipher S-boxes, the results show that is feasible. A series of performance tests and security evaluations were performed on the IIoTBC. As shown by experiments and data comparisons, IIoTBC is compact and secure in industrial IoT sensor nodes. Finally, IIoTBC has been implemented on a temperature state acquisition platform to simulate encrypted transmission of temperature in an industrial environment.

표면 코팅 유무에 따른 경량골재의 EIS 특징 (EIS Properties of Lightweght Aggregate According to Surface Coating)

  • In recent years, the construction industry has a tendency to increase of high-rise builidngs. High rise buildings can use limited space efficiently. But High rise buildings have problem that have extremely heavy weight. Various studies are being conducted to reduce the weight of buildings. Although lightweight aggregate is a meterial that can effectively reduce the weight of buildings, the strength of the aggregate itself is weak and the absorption rate is high, so the strength of the ITZ(Interfacial Transition Zone) area is weak. Therefore, it is essential to improve the interfacial area when using lightweight aggregates. In this study, an experiment was conducted to improve the adhesion between the aggregate and cement paste and to strengthen the interfacial area by coating the surface of the lighteight aggregate with Blast Furnace Slag. To confirm the improvement, compressive strength and EIS(Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) measurements were perfromed. Using EIS, the change in electrical resistance of the cement hardened body was confirmed. As a result, it was confirmed that the lightweight aggregate coated on the surface showed highter compressive strength and electrical resistance than the non-coated lightweight aggregate, and that the coating material was filled in the interfacial area and inside the aggregate that helped to strengthen the compresssive strength and higher electrical resistance.

Key-based dynamic S-Box approach for PRESENT lightweight block cipher

  • Internet-of-Things (IoT) is an emerging technology that interconnects millions of small devices to enable communication between the devices. It is heavily deployed across small scale to large scale industries because of its wide range of applications. These devices are very capable of transferring data over the internet including critical data in few applications. Such data is exposed to various security threats and thereby raises privacy-related concerns. Even devices can be compromised by the attacker. Modern cryptographic algorithms running on traditional machines provide authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation in an easy manner. IoT devices have numerous constraints related to memory, storage, processors, operating systems and power. Researchers have proposed several hardware and software implementations for addressing security attacks in lightweight encryption mechanism. Several works have made on lightweight block ciphers for improving the confidentiality by means of providing security level against cryptanalysis techniques. With the advances in the cipher breaking techniques, it is important to increase the security level to much higher. This paper, focuses on securing the critical data that is being transmitted over the internet by PRESENT using key-based dynamic S-Box. Security analysis of the proposed algorithm against other lightweight block cipher shows a significant improvement against linear and differential attacks, biclique attack and avalanche effect. A novel key-based dynamic S-Box approach for PRESENT strongly withstands cryptanalytic attacks in the IoT Network.

집중하중을 받는 고강도 경량콘크리트 바닥판의 펀칭전단 거동 (Punching Shear Behavior of High-strength Lightweight Concrete Slab Under Concentrated Load)

  • 경량콘크리트는 보통콘크리트에 비해 가볍다는 장점 때문에 자중의 영향을 많이 받는 장지간 교량과 고층건물에 자주 적용되고 있다. 국내에서는 고층건물에 적용된 예는 있으나 교량에 적용된 실적은 없는 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 고강도 경량 콘크리트의 펀칭전단강도에 대한 실험적 연구를 수행하였으며, 그 결과를 나타내었다. 이를 위하여 고강도 경량콘크리트와 보통콘크리트를 이용한 단순판을 각각 2개씩 제작하였으며, 단순판의 중앙부에 정적하중을 파괴시까지 재하하였다. 경량콘크리트의 압축강도는 47 MPa이며 보통콘크리트의 압축강도는 32 MPa이다. 실험결과 모든 실험체는 펀칭전단으로 파괴되었으며, 파괴시까지 고강도 경량콘크리트를 사용한 단순판의 거동은 일반 콘크리트를 사용한 바닥판과 유사한 거동 특성을 나타내었다. 실험결과를 토대로 고강도 경량콘크리트를 교량바닥판에 적용시 바닥판의 안전성 및 사용성을 분석하였다.

경량기포모르터와 합성한 경량형강 벽체의 전단 저항 (Shear Resistance of Light-gauge Steel Stud Wall infilled with light-weight foamed mortar)

  • 본 논문은 경량형강으로 제작한 프레임에 경량기포모르터를 채운 경량합성벽체의 전단 거동에 대한 실험 결과와 전단 강도 및 강성 평가를 제시한 것이다. 경량기포모르터는 스틸하우스 벽체의 구조 성능 및 단열 성능의 향상과 마감에 대한 시공성 개선을 위해 도입되었다. 연구 결과 단열 성능에 대한 기여도는 낮으나, 경량기포모르터의 슬러리 비중이 0.8 이상인 경우 구조 성능의 향상과 마감성이 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 전단 거동에 미치는 경량기포모르터의 영향을 알아보기 위해 경량기포모르터의 비중(0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2) 벽체의 스터드 배치간격(450mm, 600mm, 900mm), 마감재(경량기포모르터, OSB, 석고보드) 및 브레이싱 등을 변수로 한 14개의 경량합성벽체를 제작하였고 비교를 위해 대표적인 스틸하우스 벽체 3개를 제작하였다. 면내전단 실험결과, 경량기포모르터를 타설한 경량합성벽체가 기존의 스틸스터드 벽체에 비해 최대 내력은 1.15~5.38배, 초기강성은 1.45~13.7배 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 벽체 내부의 스터드를 900mm까지 확장하여도 무리가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 이와 같은 결과는 건조수축 균열이 억제되지 않은 상태에서 나온 것으로 경량합성벽체의 내력을 향상시키기 위해서는 경량기포모르터의 초기 건조수축균열을 억제하고 스터드와 경량기포모르터 사이의 부착력을 확보하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 연구는 산업폐기물을 이용한 인공경량골재의 제조에 관한 실험적 연구이다. 실험결과, 산화슬래그를 부원료로 사용한 경우, 소성온도 $1,150^{\circ}C$에서 낮은 절건밀도와 낮은 흡수율을 나타내었고 유리연마슬러지의 경우는 본 연구에서 사용한 범위 이상을 사용하여야 경량화가 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 고로슬래그 미분말은 경량골재 원료로 사용하기에는 부적합한 것으로 판단된다.

폴리에틸렌 튜브를 혼입한 경량 시멘트 경화체의 기초물성 평가 (An Evaluation on the Properties of the Hardened Lightweight Cement Using the Polyethylene Tube)

  • This study proposes the physical properties of the hardened lightweight cement using the polyethylene tube and to make the fundamental data regarding a new lightweight concrete development. The aerated concrete is displaying various effects such as lightweight, insulation characteristic and it is coming to be widely applied the slab layer of apartment as an insulating material but currently the aerated concrete has many problems. Therefore, demonstrating similar property of former aerated concrete and improving the defects, developing new hardened cement is needed. In this study, we predict adopting possibility of hollow core polyethylene tube, as a material to make cement hardening containing a lot of void. So we changed the mixing ratio, a diameter and length of the polyethylene tube and improved the compressive strength and unit capacity weight of the lightweight cement hardening body. From the test results, we judge that the aerated concrete is a developmental possibility.

High temperature resistance of self-compacting lightweight mortar incorporating expanded perlite and pumice

  • This paper presents the effect of aggregate type on high temperature resistance of self-compacting mortars (SCM) produced with normal and lightweight aggregates like expanded perlite and pumice. Silica fume (SF) and fly ash (FA) were used as mineral additives. Totally 13 different mixtures were designed according to the aggregate rates. Mini slump flow, mini V-funnel and viscometer tests were carried out on the fresh mortar. On the other hand, bulk density, porosity, water absorption and high temperature tests were made on the hardened SCM. After being heated to temperatures of 300, 600 and $900^{\circ}C$, respectively, the tensile strength in bending and compressive strength of mortars determined. As a result of the experiments, the increase in the use of lightweight aggregate increased total water absorption and porosity of mortars. It is observed that, the increment in the usage of lightweight aggregate decreased tensile strength in bending and compressive strengths of mortar specimens exposed to high temperatures but the usage of up to 10% expanded perlite in mortar increased the compressive strength of specimens exposed to $300^{\circ}C$.

  • 건축물이 고층화 및 대형화 되어감에 따라 구조물 및 빌딩의 자중을 줄이는 것은 반드시 필요하게 되는데, 이러한 구조물 의 자중을 줄이기 위한 가장 효과적인 방법 중 하나는 경량콘크리트를 사용하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 경량콘크리트의 단점인 강도를 보완하기 위하여 폴리머를 첨가하였으며, 폴리머 개질 경량콘크리트의 적절한 배합비율을 도출하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 경화콘크리트 시험을 통하여 폴리머 개질 경량콘크리트의 물리적 특성을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 소량의 폴리머 첨가로도 휨강도가 증가하였으며, 실험결과를 바탕으로 회귀분석을 통한 압축강도 추정식을 제시하였다.

DABC: A dynamic ARX-based lightweight block cipher with high diffusion

  • The ARX-based lightweight block cipher is widely used in resource-constrained IoT devices due to fast and simple operation of software and hardware platforms. However, there are three weaknesses to ARX-based lightweight block ciphers. Firstly, only half of the data can be changed in one round. Secondly, traditional ARX-based lightweight block ciphers are static structures, which provide limited security. Thirdly, it has poor diffusion when the initial plaintext and key are all 0 or all 1. This paper proposes a new dynamic ARX-based lightweight block cipher to overcome these weaknesses, called DABC. DABC can change all data in one round, which overcomes the first weakness. This paper combines the key and the generalized two-dimensional cat map to construct a dynamic permutation layer P1, which improves the uncertainty between different rounds of DABC. The non-linear component of the round function alternately uses NAND gate and AND gate to increase the complexity of the attack, which overcomes the third weakness. Meanwhile, this paper proposes the round-based architecture of DABC and conducted ASIC and FPGA implementation. The hardware results show that DABC has less hardware resource and high throughput. Finally, the safety evaluation results show that DABC has a good avalanche effect and security.
