LED 등명기 경량화를 위한 복합재료 적용 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on the Application of Composite Materials for the Light-weight LED Beacon)

  • 본 연구에서 고출력 LED를 개발하였고 등명기의 경량화 설계를 위한 복합재료의 적용에 대해 검토하였다. 복합재료의 적용을 통해 수직 변형량이 17% 감소하였고 전체중량은 알루미늄 소재 적용 대비 20% 감소에 해당하는 8.9 kg을 줄일 수 있었다. 방열 특성 측정 결과, 외기온도 $20^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 LED 패키지의 최고온도는 $63.5^{\circ}C$로 측정되었다. LED 패키지의 성능 및 수명을 고려할 때 적합한 온도 수준이다. 본 연구에서는 고출력 LED 등명기의 경량화를 위한 복합재료의 적용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 등대와 등표는 연안항로표지시설중 대표적인 건조물이다. 인천지역은 근대 초기에 등대 등표가 가장 활발하게 건설된 지역이다. 본 연구는 인천지방해양항만청이 관리하는 등대와 등표를 대상으로 한다. 이들을 현장조사하여 얻은 자료들을 근거로 현황을 정리하고 문화적 역사적 가치가 있는 대상들에 대한 장기적 보존을 위한 보존관리방안을 본 연구를 통해 제시하고자 한다.

이동 로봇의 위치측정을 위한 PSD 센서 시스템에 관한 연구 (A study on the PSD sensor system for localization of mobile robots)

  • An real-time active beacon localization system for mobile robots is developed and implemented. This system permits the estimation of robot positions when detecting light sources by PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) sensor which are placed sparsely over the robots work space as beacons(or landmarks). An LSE(Least Square Estimation) method is introduced to calibrate the internal parameters of a model for the beacon and robot position. The proposed system has two operational modes of position estimation. One is the initial position calculation by the detection of two or more light sources positions of which are known. The other is the continuous position compensation that calculates the position and heading of the robot using the IEKF(Iterated Extended Kalman Filter) applied to the beacon and dead-reckoning data. Practical experiments show that the estimated position obtained by this system is precise enough to be useful for the navigation of robots.

  • 안전한 도로주행을 위하여 설치된 도로시설물들은 주야간에도 식별할 수 있도록 제작되었으나, 기상악화 시 제 기능을 발휘하지 못하고 있다. 최근에는 원거리에서도 명확하게 인식할 수 있는 전기전자기술로 제작하고 있으나, 이들은 고장이 빈번하여 수시로 교체해야 하므로 교통정온화와 유지관리에 많은 문제점들이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 교통사고가 빈번한 지역에 반영구적으로 이용할 수 있는 LED 표시등을 설치하고, 이를 시스템과 연계하여 유지 관리할 수 있는 모니터링시스템을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 시스템은 윈도우 운영체계 기반으로 하였고, 무선통신망과 연결하여 P.C에서 운용될 수 있도록 개발하였다. 그 결과 현장에 설치된 LED 표시등의 배터리 상태정보를 실시간으로 분석을 할 수 있었고, 그 수명주기를 예측함으로서 효율적으로 관리할 수 있었다.

Real-time Intelligent Exit Path Indicator Using BLE Beacon Enabled Emergency Exit Sign Controller

  • Emergency lights and exit signs are an indispensable part of safety precautions for effective evacuation in case of emergency in public buildings. These emergency sign indicates safe escape routes and emergency doors, using an internationally recognizable sign. However visibility of those signs drops drastically in case of emergency situations like fire smoke, etc. and loss of visibility causes serious problems for safety evacuation. This paper propose a novel emergency light and exit sign built-in with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Beacon to assist the emergency self-guiding evacuation using devices for crisis and emergency management to avoid panic condition inside the buildings. In this approach, the emergency light and exit sign with the BLE beacons deployed in the indoor environments and the smart devices detect their indoor positions, direction to move, and next exit sign position from beacon messages and interact with map server in the Internet / Intranet over the available LTE and/or Wi-Fi network connectivity. The map server generate an optimal emergency exit path according to the nearest emergency exit based on a novel graph generation method for less route computation for each smart device. All emergency exit path data interfaces among three system components, the emergency exit signs, map server, and smart devices, have been defined for modular implementation of our emergency evacuation system. The proposed exit sign experimental system has been deployed and evaluated in real-time building environment thoroughly and gives a good evidence that the modular design of the proposed exit sign system and a novel approach to compute emergency exit path route based on the BLE beacon message, map server, and smart devices is competitive and viable.

육지초인용 고광도 LED 대형등명기 연구 개발

  • 육지초인용으로 사용하고 있는 전구식 회전형 대형등명기는 고압방전등을 사용하고 있어 고장발생 빈도가 높고 긴급수리에 장시간이 소요되어 기능 유지가 어려우며, 제품 가격이 높아 신규 설치 시 및 등명기 교체 시 비용 부담이 가증되는 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 따라서 기존 광원(메탈할라이트 램프 또는 텅스텐할로겐 램프)의 문제점을 개선하고, 국제항로표지협회(IALA)에서 권고하는 규격을 만족하는 효율성과 안정성이 뛰어난 대형 LED등명기 기술개발의 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 대용량 LED 모듈 및 반사경을 적용한 광학계를 설계하고, 광도와 반사경의 회전속도 제어하는 광출력/등질 제어시스템을 개발하여 20M부터 27M까지의 광달거리의 광도 가변형 육지초인용 LED 대형 등명기 개발을 수행하였다.

Implementation of Indoor Localization System

  • In this paper, a localization system for indoor objects is proposed. The proposed system consists of Beacons, LED Cells, Main Cell Controller (MCC), and Display. A Beacon is attached at each indoor object, and each LED cell has Beacon Scanner and VLC Transmitter. The Visual Light Communications (VLC) and Power Line Communications (PLC) methods are used to communicate the signals for localization of indoor objects. And the proposed system is designed, and implemented as a prototype. To certify that our propose d system can exactly localize a given indoor object, we take test for the implemented system as a p rototype. Here the location of the given indoor object is known. Test is done in two ways. The first is to check the operation of the detail of the system, and the second is the position recognition of i ndoor object. The second is the test of the implemented system to correctly detect the location of the indoor object with Beacon, while the object with Beacon is moved from location C to A. The experimental result shows that the system is exactly detect the moving locations. The system has the advantages of using previously installed power lines, and it does not need to use LAN lines or optical cables. The proposed system is usefully applied to indoor object localization area.

선박용 레이더를 이용한 연안파 계측 (Measurement of Coastal Waves using Marine Radar)

  • In this paper, usefulness of marine radar for water waves measurement in coastal waters is presented. We installed a marine radar to acquire radar images of water wave around light beacon at Jujeon in Ulsan. Also, a series of analysis procedures for obtaining the wave information from the acquired image is described with a schematic diagram. We compared analysis results of radar images with measurement values using wave height gauge at light beacon. In order to improve accuracy of analysis results, detailed water depth information is essential. In conclusion, in case of the use of radar for water waves measurement, it is shown that it is very necessary to increase the accuracy of measurement by consideration of the water depth in the dispersion relation of water waves.

Propagation Delay Modeling and Implementation of DGPS beacon signal over the Spherical Earth

  • This paper presents the ASF(Additional Secondary Factor) modeling of DGPS beacon signal. In addition to DGPS's original purpose, the feasibility to utilize DGPS system for timing and navigation has been studied. For timing and navigation, the positioning system must know the accurate time delay of signal traveling from the transmitter to receiver. Then the delay can be used to compute the user position. The DGPS beacon signal transmits the data using medium frequency, which travels through the surface and cause the additional delay rather than the speed of light according to conductivities and elevations of the irregular terrain. We introduce the modeling of additional delay(ASF) and present the results of implementation. The similar approach is Locan-C. Loran-C has been widely used as the maritime location system and was enhanced to E-Loran(Enhanced Loran). E-Loran system uses the ASF estimation method and is able to provide the more precise location service. However there was rarely research on this area in Korea. Hence, we introduce the ASF and its estimation model. With the comparison of the same condition and data from the original Monteath model and ASF estimation data of Loran system respectively, we guarantee that the implementation is absolutely perfect. For further works, we're going to apply the ASF estimation model to Korean DGPS beacon system with the Korean terrain data.
