굽힘하중 하의 벌크형 와이어 직조 카고메 트러스 중간재를 갖는 샌드위치 판재의 기계적 거동 (Finite Element Simulation of Behavior of WBK Cored Sandwich Panels Subjected to Bending Loads)

  • Wire-woven Bulk Kagome (WBK) is a new truss type cellular metal fabricated by systematic assembling of helical wires in six directions. In this work, the experiments of mechanical behaviors of WBK cored sandwich panels subjected to bending load were performed and the results were compared with those by the corresponding analytic solutions. And also, finite element simulations were performed to validate the optimal design according to the analytic solutions. It is found the sandwich panel with WBK core performed excellently in terms of energy absorption and deformation stability after the peak point as well as the load capacity.

  • Cable domes deform very largely because of the characteristics of flexible hybrid system and pre-tension, and include geometrical non-linearity in those structural behavior. Especially wind load is more dominant than seismic load, because cable domes are flexible structures whose bending stiffness is very small and self-weight is very light. Therefore, in this paper, the Modified Stiffly Stable Method is applied to analyze the nonlinear dynamic behavior of cable domes and compared these results with ones of the $Newmark-{\beta}$ Method which is generally used. The Seoul Olympic Gymnastic Arena is taken as an numerical example and three kinds of models with giving each different intensity of pre-tension are selected. And dynamic nonlinear behavior of cable domes are analyzed by artificial spectrum of wind velocity wave which is similar to actual wind loads.

  • Nowadays, the vehicle structure weight of urban transit system has been reduced in order to save energy and materials. However, this light weighted vehicle structure is very important to verify the fatigue strength at the development stage. Bogie system consists of bogie frame, suspensions, wheel-sets, braking system and transmission system. Among these components, the bogie frame is most significant component subjected to the whole vehicle and passenger loads. In this study, the bogie frame for the standard EMU power car is evaluated to the static and fatigue strength. And, the evaluation method is used the JIS E4207 specification throughout the FEM analysis and static load test. The static and fatigue test results for the standard EMU bogie frame of power car has been appeared very safety and stable for the design load conditions.

  • The paper proposes the coupled inductor rectifier of Three Level DC/DC converter CICDR-TL(Coupled Inductor Current Doubler Rectifier-Three Level) achieves Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) for the switches in a wide load range and Zero Current Switching (ZCS) in a light load range. Advantages and disadvantages of this topology compared to the conventional Center Tapped TL Converter are discussed. Experimental evaluation results obtained on a 27V 60A DC/DC converter prototype for the 1.8kW 40kHz IGBT based experimental circuit.

디이젤기관에 있어서 매타놀의 사용 (The Use of methanol in Diesel Engines)

  • Methanol was examined as supplemental fuel for open chamber type and pre-combustion chamber type diesel engine. Pre-determined quantities of diesel oil were injected as ordinary diesel engines and methanol was added at inlet pipe using venturi, nozzel and and float chamber for the rest of the charge. In this mode of operation, addition of methanol reduced inlet and exhaust temperature. Inlet air quantities were essentially unchanged in spite of lower inlet temperature. Exhaust smoke was significantly reduced At light load when both diesel oil and methanol were introduced with small quantities, specific heat consumption was considerably increased. However, with the increase of the quantity of methanol or diesel oil, specific heat consumption was improved. With sufficient quantities of diesel oil enough to produce the power above 3/4 load, addition of methanol showed better thermal economy.

  • Many single-stage PFC(power-facto.-correction) ACHC converters suffer from the high link voltage at high input voltage and light load condition. In this paper, to suppress the link voltage, a novel high power factor high efficiency PFC AC/DC converter is proposed using the single controller which generates two gate signals so that one of them is used far gate signal of the flyback DC/DC converter switch and the other is applied to the Boost PFC stage. A 130w prototype for LCD monitor adapter with universal input $(90-265V_{rms})$ and 19.5V 6.7A output is implemented to verify the operational principles and performances. The experimental results show that the maximum link voltage stress is about 450V at 270Vac input voltage. Moreover, efficiency and power factor are over $84\%$ and 0.95, respectively, under the full load condition.

  • This paper presents Continuous-current mode of $S^4$-PFC(Single-Stage Single-switch Power Factor Correction) converter. Proposed converter operates in the continueous current mode(CCM) at full load and discontinuous current mode(DCM) at light load. So, characteristic of proposed converter is no bus voltage stress and Zero Voltage Switching(ZVS) using resonant auxiliary circuit. And. This paper presents characteristic of $S^4$-PFC converter and effect of circuit parameter of proposed converter through the input inductor, PFC capacitor's variation. All of these theory and characteristic verified through the experiment with a 72W(12V, 6A), $90^{kHz}$ prototype converter.

유한요소법을 이용한 Wireless 교통신호등 구조 해석 (Structural Analysis of Wireless Traffic Signal Using Finite Element Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 도심 미관의 보완을 위해 와이어를 제거한 교통신호등의 구조 해석을 수행한다. 실제 교통신호등의 3차원 CAD 모델로부터 쉘 요소로 이루어진 유한요소 모델을 생성하였고, 특히 교통신호등의 지주 및 가로재는 모양, 두께, 보강재 등을 고려하였다. 풍하중을 적용하여 응력 및 변형 해석을 수행하였으며, 풍하중이 적용될 경우에 교통신호등에 미치는 결과를 분석하여 설계 개선에 대한 기본 작업을 수행하였다.

폼 충진 모자단면 빔의 굽힘붕괴 특성 (Bending Collapse Characteristics of Hat Section Beam Filled with Structural Foam)

  • Design capability for high safety vehicle with light weight is crucial to enhancing competitive power in vehicle market. The structural foam can contribute to restraining section distortion in body members undergoing bending collapse at vehicle crash. In this study, first, the validation of analysis model including structural foam model for simulating fracture behavior was discussed, and the bending collapse characteristics of five representative section types were analyzed and compared. Next, with changing the laminate foam shape, load carrying capability and absorbed energy were observed. The results suggests a design strategy of body members filled with laminate foam, leading to effectively elevating bending collapse characteristics with weight increase in the minimum.

소형 디젤엔진의 NOx 저감을 위한 Urea-SCR 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Urea-SCR System for NOx Reduction of a light-Duty Diesel Engine)

  • The effects of an urea injection at the exhaust pipe for a 4-cylinder DI(Direct Injection) diesel engine were investigated with the parameters such as urea-SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction) and EGR system. The urea quantity was controlled by NOx quantity and MAF(Manifold Air Flow). The urea injection quantity can be controlled with the urea syringe pump, precisely. The effects of NOx reduction for the urea-SCR system were investigated with and without ECR engine, respectively. It was concluded that the SUF(Stoichiometric Urea Flow) is calculated and the NOx results are visualized with engine speed and load. Furthermore, the NOx map is made from this experimental results. It was suggested, therefore, that NOx reduction effects of the urea-SCR system without the EGR engine were better than that with the EGR engine except of low load and low speed.
