빛의 굴절에 대한 초등예비교사의 개념이해와 지도계획의 어려움 분석 (Analysis of Elementary Pre-Service Teacher's Difficulties in Conceptual Understanding and Instructional Planning of Light Refraction)

  • 이 연구는 초등예비교사가 빛의 굴절 단원의 교사용 지도서를 읽을 때 생성한 질문을 분석함으로써 개념이해에 있어서의 어려움과 지도계획을 세울 때의 어려움에 어떤 것이 있는지를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2015 개정 교육과정 6학년 1학기 '빛과 렌즈' 단원의 지도서를 읽고 초등예비교사 283명이 생성한 의미있는 질문은 총 592개였고 이 중 물리 개념이해를 위한 질문은 총 306개, 교육학적 질문은 총 286개였다. 분석 결과, 초등예비교사는 물리 개념이해 측면에서 굴절이 일어나는 원인, 빛을 산란시켜야 하는 이유, 볼록렌즈의 초점거리에 따른 상의 변화 원인 등 교과서에 제시된 현상이 일어난 '원인'의 개념 이해에 어려움을 가지고 있었다. 지도계획 측면에서는 개념의 설명방법에 대한 질문, 즉 초등학생에게 개념에 대한 설명을 하지 못하고 현상만을 지도하여야 하는 것에 대한 질문, 특정 개념에 대한 구체적인 설명방법, 실험 방법 등에 대한 질문 그 뒤를 이었다. 교사용 지도서에는 교사들의 개념이해를 돕기 위한 여러 가지 설명들과 보충자료가 포함되어 있음에도 불구하고 일부 개념에 대해서는 지도서를 읽고서도 의문이 해결되지 않는 초등예비교사가 많이 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 질문의 빈도가 높은 개념에 대해서는 좀 더 알기 쉽게 지도서를 작성할 필요가 있다. 지도계획에 있어서는 교수법과 실험방법에 대한 질문이 많았기 때문에 교사용 지도서에서 개념의 설명방법에 대한 예시와 구체적 실험방법을 좀 더 제공할 필요가 있다.

박형 도광판의 음각, 양각 마이크로 패턴 성형성에 관한 연구 (Study on the gate cutting of light guiding plate for mobile using quenching element)

  • LCD-BLU (Liquid Crystal Display - Back Light Unit) is one of kernel parts of LCD unit and it consists of several optical sheets(such as prism, diffuser and protector sheets), LCP (Light Guide Plate), light source (CCFL or LED) and mold frame. The LGP of LCD-BLU is usually manufactured by forming numerous dots with $50-200{\mu}m$ in diameter on it by erosion method. But the surface of the erosion dots of LGP is very rough due to the characteristics of the erosion process during the mold fabrication, so that its light loss is high along with the dispersion of light into the surface. Accordingly, there is a limit in raising the luminance of LCD-BLU. Especially, the negative and positive micro-lens pattern fabricated by modified LiGA with thermal reflow process was applied to the optical design of LGP.

  • The thallium-doped sodium iodide [NaI(Tl)] scintillation detector is preferred as a gamma spectrometer in many fields because of its general advantages. A silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) has recently been developed and its application area has been expanded as an alternative to photomultiplier tubes (PMTs). It has merits such as a low operating voltage, compact size, cheap production cost, and magnetic resonance compatibility. In this study, an array of SiPMs is used to develop an NaI(Tl) gamma spectrometer. To maintain detection efficiency, a commercial NaI(Tl) $2^{\prime}{\times}2^{\prime}$ scintillator is used, and a light guide is used for the transport and collection of generated photons from the scintillator to the SiPMs without loss. The test light guides were fabricated with polymethyl methacrylate and reflective materials. The gamma spectrometer systems were set up and included light guides. Through a series of measurements, the characteristics of the light guides and the proposed gamma spectrometer were evaluated. Simulation of the light collection was accomplished using the DETECT 97 code (A. Levin, E. Hoskinson, and C. Moison, University of Michigan, USA) to analyze the measurement results. The system, which included SiPMs and the light guide, achieved 14.11% full width at half maximum energy resolution at 662 keV.

사출/압축 및 RHCM 기술이 7인치 도광판 마이크로 패턴 전사성에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Replication Ratio of Micro Patterns of 7 inch LGP using Injection/Compression and RHCM)

  • Recently, according to the rapid development of display, many display applications, such as, cellular phone, navigation, monitor and LCD TV have been changed from CRT type to LCD type. BLU(Back Light Unit) is one of main parts in LCD unit and generally, it consists of a light source, a reflective sheet, a LGP(Light Guide Plate), a diffuser sheet, and two prism sheets. The most important component of BLU is a light guide plate, which diffuses the input light to the TFT-LCD module uniformly. The LGP is usually made by injection molding process, and it has numerous optical micro patterns on the surface. In the present study the micro-patterned stamper which has cylindrical shape was fabricated by using the UV-LiGA process. And the replication characteristics have been compared among three different kinds of injection molding process; general injection molding, injection/compression molding and RHCM(Rapid Heating and Cooling Molding). Average replication ratios of CIM and ICM were 19.1% and 64.6%, respectively. On the other hand, the average replication ratio of RHCM process showed the higher value of 98.4% among these. It show that maintaining the mold surface above $T_g$ could increase the replication ratio of micro patterns substantially.

  • A back light unit (BLU) is a key module of a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD), frequently utilized in various mobile displays. In this study, we experimentally characterize transcription and optical properties of concave and convex microlens arrays (MLAs) of light guide plate (LGP) fabricated by injection molding with polycarbonate as a LGP substrate material. Nickel mold inserts were manufactured by electroforming on the MLA which was fabricated by the thermal reflow of photoresist microstructures patterned by UV-photolithography. For the case of convex microlens, the height of replicated microlens was less than that of the mold insert while maintaining almost the same microlens diameter of the mold insert as the location of the microlens is far from the gate. In contrast, for the concave microlens, the diameter of replicated microlens was larger than that of mold insert, while showing almost the same microlens height as the mold insert. From the optical examination of replicated convex and concave MLAs, it was found that a higher luminance of the LGP was achieved by the concave MLAs compared to the convex MLAs (about 30% enhancement in this case)due to the utilization of a larger amount of light provided by the light sources.

Design and performance research of a mixed-flow submersible deep well pump

  • To meet the demand of higher handling capacity, a mixed-flow submersible deep well pump was designed and tested. The main hydraulic components are made of plastics, which is free of erosion, light-weight, and environment-friendly. To simplify plastic molding process, and to improve productivity, an axial-radial guide vane was proposed. To clarify its effect on the performance, a radial guide vane and a space guide vane are developed as well. By comparison, the efficiency of the pump equipped with the axial-radial guide vane is higher than the radial guide vane and is lower than the space guide vane, and its high efficiency range is wide. The static pressure recovery of the axial guide vane is a bit lower than the space guide vane, but it is much larger than the radial guide vane. Taking the cost and molding complexity into consideration, the axial-radial guide vane is much economic, promoting its popularity for the moderate and high specific speed submersible deep well pumps.

  • The light guide plate (LGP) of LCD-BLU (Liquid Crystal Display-Back Light Unit) is usually manufactured by forming numerous dots by etching process. However, the surface of those etched dots of LGP is very rough due to the characteristics of etching process, so that its light loss is relatively high due to the dispersion of light. Accordingly, there is a limit in raising the luminance of LCD-BLU. In order to overcome the limit of current etched-dot patterned LGP, micro-lens pattern was tested to investigate the possibility of replacing etched pattern in the present study. The micro-lens pattern fabricated by the modified LiGA with thermal reflow process was applied to the optical design of LGP. The attention was paid to the effects of different optical pattern type (i.e. etched dot, micro-lens). Finally, the micro-lens patterned LGP showed better optical qualities than the one made by the etched-dot patterned LGP in luminance.

  • Technologies of super-precision micro pattern mold machining and high-performance optical films manufacturing using thereof forms the basis of recent display industries which have developed remarkably. Especially, it is the light guide plates and high luminous intensity prism sheets at BLU or FLU in LCD and lenses at virtual keyboard's display to be manufactured by micro machining technology. One way the industry requires to do that is by developing high-performance light guide plates or films which are existing light guide plates, diffusion films and luminance enhancement prism films all in one. In this research effort, basic processing of the micro pyramid structure by shaping method is proposed. Experiments of mold machining of pitch $20{\mu}m$ tetrahedral pyramid and pitch $100{\mu}m$ trihedral pyramid using a $90^{\circ}$ diamond tool were conducted to identify a variety of machining features, such as cutting forces, conditions of the surface, shapes of chips, and influence of materials.

가정용 식품 방사능 모니터링 센서 개발 및 유용성 평가 (Development of a Foods Radioactivity Monitoring Sensor for Household and Evaluation of its Effectiveness)

  • In this study, a foods radioactivity monitoring sensor was developed as a part of basic research for household radioactivity monitoring, and its performance was evaluated using a calibration source. The prototype of the sensor was based on a CsI:Tl scintillator using a crystal light guide and Si photomultiplier. The light guide was introduced to improve gamma-ray detection efficiency. For quantitative evaluation, tests were conducted using $^{134}Cs$ liquid source. In the performance evaluation, It was confirmed that analysis of $^{134}Cs$: 100 Bq/L(kg) was possible. Thus, result of this study is expected to contribute to research in the development of the household foods radioactivity monitoring system.
