Improvement of the School Information Management System : Enriching Healthcare Management (학교정보관리시스템의 개선: 건강관리의 내실화)

  • The National Education Information System (NEIS), one of ERP systems developed by Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, has been utilized in primary and secondary schools. In this paper, we considered the NEIS should be used not only for educational administration affairs, but also for a lifelong management of National Human Resource. The current School Information Management System (SIMS) is unsatisfactory due to the insufficiency of actual field suitability and user's conveniency. For solving such problems, the system rebuilding or revision should be accompanied by. As a guideline of revision and supplement of the SIMS, we suggest an application useful in both schools and clinics by the integrating healthcare management information of people. For this, we propose a lifelong healthcare information management by integrating Student Health Records of the NEIS with Electronic Medical Records of doctors' offices. The healthcare information is designed and represented in XML. We applied different XSL style-sheets to XML documents in order to offer a view suitable for demands of schools and clinics. The healthcare information can be managed and utilized efficiently by using the view. We ascertained that the lifelong Healthcare Information Management System is an improvement to overcome the inefficiency of healthcare information management and the connection inadequacy between schools and medical institutions, and is desirable for a lifelong management of the National Human Resource.

In this paper, we consider the NEIS should be used not only for educational administration affairs, but also for a lifelong management of national human resource. The current School Information Management System(SIMS), including the NEIS, is unsatisfactory due to the insufficiency of actual field suitability and end-user's conveniency. To this, we have devised improvements of the SIMS in the seven problem areas: ) The core business process of the school should be analyzed sufficiently and reflected in SIMS. (2) We should fully utilize groupware functions which activate the learning organization. (3) We might apply and use the CRM techniques of enterprises in SIMS. (4) The SIMS should be easy to make necessary school assessment data. (5) We should complement functions of the SIMS for a lifelong healthcare information management of national human resource. (6) The SIMS should support the school lunch management. (7) We should bring BOM and work-flow concepts into the SIMS.

Successful Transition from Pediatric to Adult Care in Inflammatory Bowel Disease: What is the Key?

  • The incidence of pediatric-onset inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is on the rise, accounting for up to 25% of IBD cases. Pediatric IBD often has extensive bowel involvement with aggressive and rapidly progressing behavior compared to adult IBD. Because IBD has a high morbidity rate and can have a lifelong impact, successful transition from pediatric to adult care is important to maintain the continuity of care. Furthermore, successful transition facilitates appropriate development and psychosocial well-being among patients, as well as comprehensive and harmonious healthcare delivery amongst stakeholders. However, there are various obstacles related to patients, family, providers, and organizations that interfere with successful transition. Successful transition requires a flexible and tailored plan that is made according to the patient's developmental abilities and situation. This plan should be established through periodic interviews with the patient and family and through close collaboration with other care providers. Through a stepwise approach to the transition process, patients' knowledge and self-management skills can be improved. After preparation for the transition is completed and the obstacles are overcome, patients can be gradually moved to adult care. Finally, successful transition can increase patients' adherence to therapy, maintain the appropriate health status, improve patients' self-management, and promote self-reliance among patients.

A Study on Convergence National Competency Standards(NCS) Development for Medical Record Specialist (의무기록사의 융복합적 직무능력표준 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This research is aimed to develop a National competency standards(NCS) as a method of job standardization, and then to be applicated as a baseline data on overall university curriculum by using the NCS. Study period is from June 21, 2014 to November 30, 2014. To accomplish the aims, a pool of researchers and experts like as industrial site experts, education training experts, and job analysis specialists was formed. Job title to be conducted in medical record is defined as medical information management and NCS was developed through deducing 12 competency unit, 43 competency unit elementary and competency unit each career during lifelong. And finally the developed standards proposal was completed to be NCS after verification by on-the-spot specialists.

The Design and Implement a Healthcare Alert App to Prevent Dementia (치매예방을 위한 헬스케어 알리미 앱 설계 및 구현)

  • There are not that many m-health related services limited to the elderly. Many of the elderly who are at risk of dementia are unfamiliar to smart devices, so it is required to design an user-customized App. Therefore, I design and embody a mobile voice alert integrated app, which enables voice input to increase the accessibility of the elderly, so as to prevent diseases caused by declined cognitive function such as dementia. I conducted interviews and questionnaire after having the students use the app in Lifelong Education Center in H region of Gyeongbuk, and the analysis result has showed the high satisfaction. It is expected that it will be able to play a key role for M-Health service for the elderly since it is possible to prevent dementia through the voice health care alert app. I would like to learn deep learning in the future to predict the life patterns and the possibility of dementia of the elderly.
