A Study on the Evaluation Method of Green Remodeling Considering LCA and LCC (LCA 및 LCC를 고려한 환경친화적 리모델링의 평가방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to presents Evaluation Method of Green Remodeling that analyze the value of environment through expense, using the method of life cycle cost and life cycle assessment simultaneously. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Evaluation Model developed in this study can convert economical value of environment into cost by integrating. In addition, the model can apply as a useful tool to estimation of economical design alternative as well as quantification of environmental loads and costs. Evaluation Model presented In this study observe energy consumption and the environmental load emission with qualification, it can forecast effect of environmental cost that cost estimation is expected to be added to energy cost rate by being possible. Synthetically, when Estimation Model and computer program that developed in this study is applies to the construction industry; reasonable management of environmental load is convenient at each step of Green Remodeling. In addition, at preliminary design phase, practical use may be possible by reasonable yardstick about various alternatives and improvement of design alternatives likewise by grasping environmental effect.

  • This paper deals with the topical problems of the Life Cycle Costs in connection with the rolling stocks. the LCC philosophy has already entered the third decade. this philosophy contributed towards the new relationship's comprehension between railway vehicle producers' and railway vehicle users' sphere. this leads together to the technical-economical solution convenient for the both sides. In the point of manufacturer, It is said that low operational costs could be reached using a well-designed and structured maintenance program. this is due to the proper technical analysis of critical components that leads to low costs of maintenance and a superior reliability without increasing the capital investment. but, This paper presents both topical experiences with the LCC models for the railways vehicles and also procedures during Life Cycle Costs calculations. In conclusion I want to introduce how to calculate LCC & what kinds of softwares are used based on VVVF EMU vehicle

  • Costs have long since become a major issue in railway system analysis, attention is not limited to the acquisition costs alone, but encompasses all costs involved in the use and disposal of the systems. Concepts such as Life Cycle Cost(LCC), Costs Of Ownership(COO), or Total Ownership Cost(TOC) are more and more frequent in any document dealing with system analysis. Most of railway projects have applied this LCC Model to evaluate effectiveness of system acquisition cost. But these action of LCC model does not applied all the rest of system life cycle period due to the differences of its responsibility. This is why a study has been undertaken by the operation party to harmonize the most important aspects of the LCC model. This study focused on these and other objectives for introduction of method and needs for an action plan for maintenance actions involved relevant cost allocation.

  • Recently the study related to life cycle cost analysis of railway structure consisted of a complex is proceeded covering several range, which is considering the methodology of efficiency and rationalization for maintenance and analysing long-time behavior of the structure of looking at standpoint from asset management and safety. But LCCA(life cycle cost analysis) of railway structure was almost impossible as there were not anything datum for maintenance plan, such as maintenance periods related to each of components(painting and corrosion of steel, and cracking of elements, etc)and maintenance proportion, despite of its 100-year history. According, for collecting data related to railway truss bridge, bridge record cards and testing safety papers, and researching question, etc are surveyed and classified for LCC Analysis. Especially, LCC assessment on the side of assets-maintenance considering about initial cost, maintenance cost, and indirect cost is constructed. Maintenance period and complementary measure rate are very important in maintenance. To decide maintenance period, Baysian updating method is applied.

  • The importance of LCC analysis has been enlarged. Also, it would be necessary to computerize LCC analysis for accurate and logical analysis of LCC. In other papers, they showed LCC analysis model but the study of database development which could be applied in LCC analysis have been undeveloped. As a result, the final goal of this study is to develope LCC database. And this progress is devided 4 steps as design, construction, maintenance and disposal and derived the detailed cost item in the progresses. Futhermore, it would be possible to develope cost DB, fluent DB, general DB, building section DB, material DB and to propose database which would be applied in accurate and logical analysis of LCC.

  • The goal of this study is to develop a realistic methodology for determination of the Life-Cycle Cost (LCC)-effective optimal seismic retrofit and maintenance strategy of deteriorating bridges. The proposed methodology is based on the concept of minimum LCC which is expressed as the sum of present value of seismic retrofit costs, expected maintenance costs, and expected economic losses with the constraints such as design requirements and acceptable risk of death. The proposed methodology is applied to the LCC-effective optimal seismic retrofit and maintenance strategy of a steel bridge considered as a example bridge in the accompanying study, and various conditions such as corrosion environments and Average Daily Traffic Volumes (ADTVs) are considered to investigate the effects on total expected LCC. In addition, to verify the validity of the developed methodology, the results are compared with the existing methodology. From the numerical investigation, it may be positively expected that the proposed methodology can be effectively utilized as a practical tool for the decision-making of LCC-effective optimal seismic retrofit and maintenance strategy of deteriorating bridges.

  • A life cycle cost analysis model for public water supply systems should be different from the ones for other civil and architectural facilities as the operation and the maintenance cost of the water supply systems mainly come from the various mechanical systems and the pipeline systems of the collecting/treating/distributing facilities. This paper presents a cost classification scheme and a life cycle cost analysis model for public water supply systems. A value analysis (VA) procedure that is well suited for practical purposes is also presented. The presented life cycle model and the value analysis procedure were applied to a real world project, and this case study is discussed in the paper. The model and the procedure presented in this study can greatly contribute to the value-oriented design alternative selection, the estimation of the maintenance cost, and the allocation of budget for water supply system construction projects.

  • Optimal reliability indices were found by optimizing life cycle cost(LCC) of pier type quay walls. Failure probability of pier and shore bridge were calculated by response surface method. Then, they were used to obtain recovery cost after damage. Costs for initial construction and maintenance were also considered in finding optimal reliability indices. Target reliability indices which may be used in reliability based design were suggested by numerical examples under seismic load and ship load.

  • The future costs of energy and the cost of the repair of apartment buildings are expected to rise continuously in proportion to the initial costs. Therefore it has become important for these increasing costs to be incorporated and reflected in the design of the building. Systems such as structure and services for the buildings remain constant, but a number of the walls and windows can vary and thus have a major influence on the total construction and running costs of a building. The critical factor in the apartment unit design for the optimization of life cycle cost (LCC) is the ratio of the x and y axis of the walls in the unit plan. This paper demonstrates how to achieve the optimal size and thus optimize the LCC of the building.

  • A new life-cycle cost (LCC) evaluation scheme for marine reinforced concrete structures is proposed. In this method, unlike the conventional life-cycle cost evaluation performed during the design process, the life-cycle cost is updated successively whenever new information of the chloride penetration is available. This updating is performed based on the Bayesian approach. For important structures, information required for this new method can be obtained without any difficulties because it is a common element of various types of monitoring systems. Using the new method, the life-cycle maintenance cost of structures can be estimated with a good precision.
