Nifedipine, one of calcium channel antagonists, has been used for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertention, angina pectoris, Raynaud's phenomenon and various other cardiovascular diseases. Because of its short biological half-life, several sustained-release (SR) formulations of nifedipine have been developed. and used clinically. The bioequivalence of the two nifedipine SR preparations was evaluated according to the guidelines of KFDA. The test product was Hanmi Nifedipine SR $tablet^{(R)}$ made by Hanmi Pharm. Co. and the reference was Adalat Oros $tablet^{(R)}$ made by Bayer Korea. Thirty healthy male subjects were divided into two groups and a randomized $2\times2$ cross-over study was employed. After one SR tablet containing 33 mg of nifedipine was orally administered, blood sample was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of nifedipine in plasma were determined using a validated HPLC method with UV detector. Two pharmacokinetic parameters, $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$, were calculated and analyzed statistically for the evaluation of bioequivalence of the two products. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed parameter values. The $90\%$ confidence intewals of the $AUC_t\;and\;the\;C_{max}\;were\;log\;0.81\sim1og\;1.19\;and\;log\;0.84\sim\;log\;1.13,\;respectively.$ These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals from log 0.8 to log 1.25 in KFDA guidelines. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating that Hanmi Nifedipine SR tablet is bioequivalent to Adalat Oros tablet.
Bisoprolol, one of the $\beta_1-adrenorecepter$ antagonist, has been used for the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension anti stable angina pectoris. The oral bloavailability of bisoprolo1 is high $(90\%)$ and the drug has a long elimination half-life, $9{\sim}12\;hr$, which allows once-daily administration. The bioequivalence of two bisoprolol preparations was evaluated according to the guidelines of Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA). The test product was Concor $tablet^{(R)}$ made by Newgenpharm and the reference product was Monocor $tablet^{(R)}$ made by Wyeth Korea. Twenty healthy male subjects, 23.8 (21-30) years old and 03.8(52-92) kg, were randomly divided into two groups and a randomized $2\times2$ cross-over study was employed. After two tablets containing 10 mg bisoprolol hemifumarate were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of bisoprolol in plasma was determined using an HPLC method with fluorescence detector. Two pharmacokinetic parameters, $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$ were calculated and analyzed statistical]y for the evaluation of bioequivalence of the two products. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed parameter values. The $90\%$ confidence intervals of $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$ were log $0.95{\sim}1og\;1.04\;and\;1og\;0.96{\sim}1og\;1.07,\;respectively.$ These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log $0.8{\sim}log\;1.23$. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating that Concor tablet is bioequivalent to Monocor tablet.
We describe a phage display strategy, based on the differential resistance of proteins to denaturant-induced unfolding, that can be used to select protein variants with improved conformational stability. To test the efficiency of this strategy, wild-type and two stable variants of ${\alpha}_1$-antitrypsin (${\alpha}_1AT$) were fused to the gene III protein of M13 phage. These phages were incubated in unfolding solution containing denaturant (urea or guanidinium chloride), and then subjected to an unfavorable refolding procedure (dialysis at $37^{\circ}C$). Once the ${\alpha}_1AT$ moiety of the fusion protein had unfolded in the unfolding solution, in which the denaturant concentration was higher than the unfolding transition midpoint ($C_m$) of the ${\alpha}_1AT$ variant, around 20% of the phage retained binding affinity to anti-${\alpha}_1AT$ antibody due to a low refolding efficiency. Moreover, this affinity reduced to less than 5% when 10 mg/mL skimmed milk (a misfolding-promoting additive) was included during the unfolding/refolding procedure. In contrast, most binding affinity (>95%) remained if the ${\alpha}_1AT$ variant was stable enough to resist unfolding. Because this selection procedure does not affect the infectivity of M13, the method is expected to be generally applicable to the high-throughput screening of stable protein variants, when activity-based screening is not possible.
The objectives of this study are to explain the performance patterns of health education and related factors in elementary middle, and high schools in Korea. The survey data were collected by questionnaires from June to September in 1998. the number of subjects were 294 school nurses. The SAS-pc program was used for statistical analyses such as percent distribution, a $x^2-test$, a Spearman correlation est., and logistic regression analysis. The major results were as follows: 1. The performance rates of health education by elementary, middle and high schools was higher than before. But the education time was not as sufficient as desired. 2. Planning and practice for health education in elementary and middle schools were high. The preparation of the instruction for health education in elementary school was especially strong. 3. The need survey for health education was low '-' 32~46%. The performance rates of health education increased yearly in elementary school. 4. The reference data were insufficient for health education; In other words, it was difficult for a systematic education. 5. Usually lecture and other methods were used. 10-15% used only the lecture method. 6. The content of heath education was life style in the lower levels of elementary school, Drinking, smoking, drug use etc. were concentrated on in middle and high school. 7. The education evaluation and application was activated in elementary school, otherwise, was low in high school. 8. School nurses and school performance in health education were influenced significatly by planning of health education and the instruction of heath education in elementary school. In the case of planning, the budget was a significant variable; in the case of instruction, the number of school classs was significant. In conclusion, these findings suggest that a developed health education curriculum be performed gearly in order to create a systematic school health education. Also, it is necessary to activate an evaluation to system measure behavioral changes. It is expected that the improvement of school health education be accomplished through the systematic support of schools by government in the physical, economi, and psychological areas.

There is a growing need to introduce advanced pressure vessel steels with higher strength and toughness for the optimizatiooCn of the design and construction of longer life and larger capacity nuclear power plants. SA508 Gr.4N Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steels have superior strength and fracture toughness, compared to SA508 Gr.3 Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steel. Therefore, the application of SA508 Gr.4N low alloy steel could be considered to satisfy the strength and toughness required in advanced nuclear power plants. The purpose of this study is to characterize the microstructure and mechanical properties of SA508 Gr.4N low alloy steels. 1 ton ingot of SA508 Gr.4N model alloy was fabricated by vacuum induction melting followed by forging, quenching, and tempering. The predominant microstructure of the SA508 Gr.4N model alloy is tempered martensite having small packet and fine Cr-rich carbides. The yield strength at room temperature was 540MPa, and it was decreased with an increase of test temperature while DSA phenomenon occurred at around $288^{\circ}C$. Overall transition property of SA508 Gr.4N model alloy was much better than SA508 Gr.3 low alloy steel. The index temperature, $T_{41J}$, of SA508 Gr.4N model alloy was $-132^{\circ}C$ in Charpy impact tests, and reference nil-ductility transition temperature, $RT_{NDT}$ of $-105^{\circ}C$ was obtained from drop weight tests. From the fracture toughness tests performed in accordance with the ASTM standard E1921 Master curve method, the reference temperature, $T_0$ was $-147^{\circ}C$, which was improved more than $60^{\circ}C$ compared to SA508 Gr.3 low alloy steels.
Nowadays conmpetltlOn of developing new products is getting keen. We can notice that the role and importance of design are emphasized more than ever. The main cause of this tendency is that technical power is no more a factor which secures the superiority in products competition, as technology is gneneralized in the world. Therefore, design is recognized intensely as a competitive strategy to promote competitive power of products. It is an already known fact that the design for both rational function and charming form to satisfy consumer's desires is a short cut to success, when a company develops a new product to promote competitive power in market. The design which plays a leading role in the activity of developing more cnovenient, more economical and more aesthetic products is called 'Competitive Edge' or 'New Corporate Weapon'. Judging form each company's case of developing products, we can guess that it has its own plan and process of developing new products with defferdnl interest and effort. The strategy of developing products is considered as the most important factor that affects the very existence of rhe company. This thesis is composed of six chapters in all. In the firstchapter, I describe the purpose, method, and scope of study. The second chapter includes the image of form in oil fan heater market in nearby Japan and that of interior in our domestic home and shops, and the trend of word life cycle by analyzing circumstances. The third chapter focuses on consumer's attitude. In the fourth chapter, I compare and test current products of competitive companies including Samsung, Daewoo, Shinilwith those of Gold STar. The trend of products, technique, and design which resulted form this comparison is described. In the fifth chapter I explain the strategy, and process of design of oil fan heater in 1992. The last conclusive chapter presents the major point drawed form the case study, but not includes an estimation of products and the condition of market. In this thesis, I reconsider the general understanding of design and designing process and the value of design as a main factor in the strategy of management by investigating the development of products and the strategy of design, and the process of design.

The analysis of the frictional energy of the rubber block with contact to the surface is necessary to study the wear for rubber. It is important to define the relationship of the frictional energy and wear, as the most theory of the wear of rubber product is based on the frictional energy of rubber block. To predict the life of the rubber block, the most of research has been focused on the use of the finite element analysis or the actual experiments which need the many time and expensive costs. Therefore, this research is achieved the successful results of the analysis to the frictional energy by analytic method. This frictional energy is function of the material properties, the shape of block, the vertical and horizontal load and the block moving speed. The analytical results are compared with the test results of this paper which can be used for the analysis of the friction behavior for the wear estimation of the rubber products.
We present a new biometric identification system based on multi-view features of teeth using principal components analysis(PCA). The multi-view features of teeth consist of the frontal view, the left side view and the right side view. In this paper, we try to stan the foundations of a dental biometrics for secure access in real life environment. We took the pictures of the three views teeth in the experimental environment designed specially and 42 principal components as the features for individual identification were developed. The classification for individual identification based on the nearest neighbor(NN) algorithm is created with the distance between the multi-view teeth and the multi-view teeth rotated. The identification performance after rotating two degree of test data is 95.2% on the left side view teeth and 91.3% on the right side view teeth as the average values.

This study aimed to examine the effects of rejection sensitivity on depression and anxiety, and the moderating effects of school violence victimization experiences on the relationships between rejection sensitivity and both anxiety and depression. Based on the results, we suggested a method of screening soldiers at high risk of depression and anxiety and interventions for their psychological adaptation. The data about anxiety, depression, rejection sensitivity, and school violence victimization experiences was collected from 126 airmen in S city, South Korea. To test the moderation effects, multiple regression analyses were conducted in which the rejection sensitivity, anxiety, school violence victimization experiences and their interaction terms were hierarchically entered. The moderation of school violence victimization experiences was found in the relationship between rejection sensitivity and school violence victimization experiences. The specific interaction patterns in each of these significant interaction effects were examined. Finally, the importance of school violence victimization experiences as a high-risk factor in army life and the clinical implication of these findings were discussed.

Purpose: The purpose of this quasi-experimental research is to develop the CP for primary THR patients and verify its effectiveness. Method: The CP is designed for both patients and medical employees to meet the 14-day-long hospitalization with an expert and clinical validity test, and the standardized orders are also created. 21 eligible subjects for the control group(with common care plan) and 27 subjects for the experimental group(with CP service) were assigned. Data were collected from questionnaires to evaluate patients' satisfaction level of nursing care and CP, investigation of physical complications, inspection of LOS(length of hospital stay) and hospital charges from April 2000 to February 2001 at K-hospital in Daegu. The collected data were analyzed by using the SAS program. Results: After implementation of CP, there was a statistically significant reduction in mean length of stay. The hospital charges have no considerable difference between two groups. Frequency of physical complications is reduced considerably. The experimental group scored much higher than the control group on the satisfaction level toward nursing care. And in the analysis of CP satisfaction questionnaires, many subjects have high satisfaction in items of 'I see the treatment process and hospital life', 'I feel that I am participating in my treatment process with health care staff'. The analysis of variances which cause a prolonged LOS supports that it's necessary to strengthen an evaluation of pre-operative outpatients' condition and link the home nursing care system in discharge for more shortening of LOS. Conclusion: The above results show that CP can have a positive impact on satisfaction level of inpatients with primary THR and the hospital.
