The subjects were 205 students in C city and the data were collected from 20-30 October 2016. Data were analyzed based on themeans using an independent t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ method, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Significant differences were found in the happiness grades by sex (p=0.045), age (p=0.019), degree (p=0.038), satisfaction in major (p<0.001), and perceived health condition (p<0.001). Happiness was positively related to self-confidence (p<0.001), self-control (p<0.001), positive emotion (p<0.001), meaning in life (p<0.001), finding meaning in life (p<0.001), and search for meaning in life (p<0.001). Uponmultiple regression analysis, finding meaning in life, perceived health condition, and satisfaction withmajor accounted for 41.0% of the happiness, with finding meaning in life beingthe most influential factor.
This study is an empirical study on the effect of wellness factors on the quality of life and subjective happiness of disabled workers, and aims to contribute to living a healthy life by experiencing wellness in the real life. This study used raw data of the 8th employment panel survey for the disabled, and explored factors such as physical wellness, emotional wellness, social wellness, cognitive wellness, and occupational wellness through exploratory factor analysis. And the wellness factors have a significant effect on the quality of life and subjective happiness of the disabled workers. The results showed that the five wellness factors had a positive (+) effect on the quality of life and subjective happiness of the disabled. Also, the quality of life has a significant effect on subjective happiness. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the quality of life and subjective happiness were improved only when the wellness of the disabled workers was increased. In the future, it is necessary to develop a wellness program suitable for the type of disability and to develop indicators that can be applied to real life situations.
I will critically argue the Mencian idea of sharing pleasure with the people in the light of happiness as emotion. Happiness as a subjective mental state can make troubles with good life in being at odds with real lives. Thus, what pursues genuine happiness goes back to a classical question of how one ought to live for good life over the subjective mental state. For this, I will focus on concepts of 'pleasure alone (tongnak)' and 'sharing pleasure with the people(yeomin-dongnak)', which can be seen in the dialogue between Mencius and King Xuan of Qi. I will show that king Xuan's pleasure as subjective happiness has discord with his good life because of the hierarchy of his desire. I will explain how to unify good life with pleasant one by the idea of sharing pleasure with the people provided by Mencius and examine certain dynamics of sympathy and mutual understanding under solidarity. Moreover, I will investigate how such power of sympathy as compassion can be connected with sharing pleasure with the people. Compassion and yeomin-dongnak can be captured by the golden rule of a measure to gauge others(shu). I will delve into how to differ from one another and summarize Confucian idea of yeomin-dongnak as happiness in terms of the theoretical frame related to good life(welfare). I briefly conclude how subjective happiness can contribute to making our lives better.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship between the possibility of socioeconomic class elevation of wage earners, happiness and organizational commitment, and life satisfaction. Research design, data and methodology: Data from the 24th fiscal year (2021) of the Korea Labor Panel data were used for analysis. Only wage earners who measured job satisfaction and organizational engagement were analyzed, and a sample of 9,138 respondents was finally used, excluding missing values. Structural Equation Modeling was performed using AMOS 23.0, and Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) was used as a model estimation method. Results: First, the hypothetical structural model set up for the study was found to be suitable. Second, the Possibility of Socioeconomic Class Elevation of wage earners, happiness, and organizational commitment were found to have a direct impact on life satisfaction. Third, the possibility of improving the socio-economic status of wage earners affects life satisfaction, and happiness and organizational commitment appear to have a partially mediating effect. Conclusions: This study is significant in that it has increased interest in organizational participation and life satisfaction, which were not covered in previous studies on the possibility of wage workers moving up the socioeconomic class.
The purpose of this study was to develop a "Happiness Scale for School-aged Korean Children" (HSSKC). Participants consisted of 2,528 children who were chosen from six places, namely: Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungnam, Jeonnam, Gyeongnam, and Gangwon. The province of Jeju-do was not included. The study assessed children's perception of happiness in six areas of life. For data analysis, the study employed the following methods: descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlation, and Cronbach's $\alpha$. Initially, the study used an original scale composed of 32 items, but these were later reduced to 29 through exploratory factor analysis. The study identified six factors which influenced the happiness of school-aged children: (1) self-esteem, (2) parent-child relationship, (3) school life, (4) after-school activities, (5) general living environment, and (6) satisfaction of needs. Validity was determined through correlating the sub-factors. Using Cronbach' $\alpha$ to measure the reliability of factors, the result ranged from .60 to 81.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze the way pre-service early childhood teachers think about teacher happiness through metaphor analysis. Methods: A total of 225 pre-service teachers were selected from 4-year universities in the Gyeongnam area and open questionnaires were distributed to the participants. A total of 207 out of the 225 questionnaires were selected for the study. Results: First, based on psychological well-being, positive interpersonal relationship, self-acceptance, autonomy, environmental control, and life purpose were derived. Pre-service early childhood teachers typified teacher happiness into five types: positive interpersonal relationships, self-acceptance, autonomy, environmental control, and life purpose. Second, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived teacher happiness as positive. Third, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived interpersonal relationships, self-acceptance, and purpose of life as positive, while environmental control and autonomy were perceived as negative. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to improve the quality of teachers' education and to develop a program to raise positive awareness of future early childhood teachers. These study results can also be used as basic data for high quality teacher education.
Current study examine whether happiness (life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect) improves academic achievement (GPA) by longitudinal data. Two surveys were conducted with one year interval and total 112 respondents participated in both surveys. Hierarchical regression analysis was employed to investigate that happiness in the first time have an effect on GPA in the second time after controlling for GPA in the first time as well as demographic variables. We found that life satisfaction and positive affect in the first survey improved GPA after the next semester. Interestingly, GPA did not bring happiness by this longitudinal data. The implication for study were discussed.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Happiness is an important factor in life, and food literacy (FL) has been emphasized as a core concept for a happy and healthy life. This study examined the level of happiness of Seoul citizens according to their sociodemographic factors and their association with FL. SUBJECTS/METHODS: This study used the data from the Seoul Food Survey, a cross-sectional study conducted on 4,039 Seoul citizens from September to October 2021. FL was measured using a validated questionnaire consisting of 33 items from 3 sub-domains: 14 items in the nutrition and safety domain, 8 items in the cultural and relational domain, and 11 items in the socio-ecological domain. Statistical analysis involved descriptive statistics and multivariate regression analysis. RESULTS: Various sociodemographic factors, such as household income, subjective health status, and food insecurity, were found to be associated with the level of happiness. The level of FL was also associated with the happiness scores. After adjusting for variables associated with happiness, the participants with the highest quartile FL scores were 7.32 times more likely to respond that they were happy than those with the lowest FL score. Three FL domains and total FL showed linear increases in overall happiness after controlling for subjective health status and sociodemographic factors (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: After adjusting for the related covariates, higher levels of FL were associated with higher scores in happiness. Based on this study, it would be meaningful to evaluate ways to intervene in FL to improve the level of happiness among the general population.
The purposes of this study were to uncover the relationships and correlations between mental health, resilience and happiness. The sample consisted of 184 intermarried Korean men. The data were analyzed by means of frequency, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS. The major findings were as follows; Mental health was negatively correlated with resilience and happiness, except for the component of negative emotion. Additionally, resilience was positively correlated with feelings of happiness and positive emotion. Second, social maladaptation and depression had a negative influence on resilience and a negative influence on happiness. Resilience had a mediating effect on mental health and feelings of happiness. Resilience had a mediating effect on mental health and positive emotion, while resilience had a mediating effect on mental health and negative emotion. In conclusion, in order to improve happiness it is important to mediate on intermarried Korean men's resilience through special education programs and counseling.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of a young children's happiness program in relation with the Nuri curriculum on young children's happiness and self-esteem. Study subjects included 37 children aged 5 (experimental group 20, comparative group 17) enrolled in A day care center and D day care center located in K district, Seoul. As for the research procedure, an experiment was conducted 48 times in 18 weeks, and the experimental group carried out the children's happiness program linked with the Nuri curriculum. In contrast, the comparative group conducted general activities focusing on the subjects according to the Nuri curriculum. Study results show that there was a significant difference amongst 9 sub-domains related to young children's happiness (health, emotion, immersion, recognition and achievement, parent-child relationship, teacher-child relationship, peer relationship, spirituality, life satisfaction) and 3 sub-domains related to self-esteem (start and spirit of independence, sociality emotionality, academic achievement). Results of this study prove that the children's happiness program in relation with the Nuri curriculum is effective for increasing young children's happiness and self-esteem, and could be used as preliminary data for the possibility of a happiness program in early childhood education settings and happiness education in the future.
