  • The primary objective of this study was to investigate the perception of informational professionals' knowledge sharing practices in social media platforms. The specific objectives of the study included learning professionals' perceptions and awareness of knowledge sharing using social media, understanding their opinions and beliefs, and gaining familiarity with and reasons for using these tools. Open & close ended web-based questions were sent out by email to the international training program (ITP) participants. Findings indicated that most of the respondents' were aware of using social media and that they used social media for knowledge sharing. Speed and ease of use, managing personal knowledge, easier communication with users and colleagues and powerful communication tool are the areas that motivated them to use it. It also stated some barriers like lack of support, familiarity, trust, unfiltered information and fear of providing information. The study was limited to the perceptual aspect of the issue, specifically from the individuals' opinions and sentiments.

  • This study takes aim at finding how effective the usage of 'Read to Dogs' is for self-respect and reading improvement of elementary school students. For this, this study was compared and analyzed with pretest and posttest using 'tree pictures' of HTP and 'family pictures with motion' of KFD through performing, surveying, and art-therapy treatments. The result of this study showed that reading program using a reading -assistance- dog has a good effect on self-respect of children with reading inactivity. Also, this result will be used as useful information in developing and operating programs for children with reading inactivity in libraries and schools.

  • Digital literacy is an important factor in the discourses on the knowledge sharing on the campus. This article analyzed the impact of digital literacy of knowledge-sharing capabilities in the university. As a result, digital literacy was found to significantly affect student knowledge-sharing capabilities in the university studied. Results show that video and animation literacy is the most influential factor and image literacy is the second-most influential factor for student knowledge-sharing. Those results can be used as a framework for developing digital literacy program.

  • In this paper, we propose a more effective unique identifier allocation method for macro expansion in a single-process multicore parallel computing environment that does not require locks. Our key idea for such an allocation method is to remove sequential dependencies using the remainder operation. We confirmed that our lock-free method is suitable for improving the performance of parallel macro expansion through the following benchmark: we patched an existing library, which is based on a sequential unique identifier allocation, with our proposed method, and compared the performances of the same program but using two different versions of the library, before and after the patch.

  • The method of single-cell RNA sequencing has been rapidly developed, and numerous experiments have been conducted over the past decade. Their results allow us to recognize various subpopulations and rare cell states in tissues, tumors, and immune systems that are previously unidentified, and guide us to understand fundamental biological processes that determine cell identity based on single-cell gene expression profiles. However, it is still challenging to understand the principle of comprehensive gene regulation that determines the cell fate only with transcriptome, a consequential output of the gene expression program. To elucidate the mechanisms related to the origin and maintenance of comprehensive single-cell transcriptome, we require a corresponding single-cell epigenome, which is a differentiated information of each cell with an identical genome. This review deals with the current development of single-cell epigenomic library construction methods, including multi-omics tools with crucial factors and additional requirements in the future focusing on DNA methylation, chromatin accessibility, and histone post-translational modifications. The study of cellular differentiation and the disease occurrence at a single-cell level has taken the first step with single-cell transcriptome and is now taking the next step with single-cell epigenome.

  • Monolithic three-dimensional (M3D) logics such as M3D-NAND, M3D-NOR, M3D-buffer, M3D 2×1 multiplexer, and M3D D flip-flop, consisting of modularized M3D inverters (M3D-INVs), have been proposed. In the previous M3D logic, each M3D logic had to be designed separately for a standard cell library. The proposed M3D logic is designed by placing modularized M3D-INVs and connecting interconnects such as metal lines or monolithic inter-tier-vias between M3D-INVs. The electrical characteristics of the previous and proposed M3D logics were simulated using the technology computer-aided design and Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis with the extracted parameters of the previously developed LETI-UTSOI MOSFET model for n- and p-type MOSFETs and the extracted external capacitances. The area, propagation delay, falling/rising times, and dynamic power consumption of the proposed M3D logic are lower than those of previous versions. Despite the larger space and lower performance of the proposed M3D logic in comparison to the previous versions, it can be easily designed with a single modularized M3D-INV and without having to design all layouts of the logic gates separately.

  • In an attempt to study the current status and ways to revitalize cultural programs in small libraries, this study surveyed 142 small libraries based in the Seoul. Two most important functions of both public and private small libraries were found to be the loan/return of materials and cultural programs; over 50% of small libraries are operating cultural programs. It was also found that institutions that did not operate the cultural programs were aware of the necessity. Both public and private small libraries were operating one to three cultural programs, and their types varied from cultural refinement to reading-related programs. There was a higher rate of answers stating that the person in charge of operating cultural programs for public small libraries were administrative personnels, while the chief librarian was the person in charge for private small libraries. The hardships both types of libraries encountered were found to be budget-related and on securing manpower.

  • This study investigates 185 public librarians' perceptions, satisfactions score and loyalty for CIP program operated by the National Library of Korea. The 172 (93.0%) librarians have perceived about the CIP, and 98(57.0%) librarians make use of the CIP at their works. They were relatively high perceptions on the service quality (3.50), satisfaction (3.71), and loyalty (3.72) for the CIP on the Likert 5-point scale. This study also tested the quality of service, satisfaction and loyalty using Structured Equation Model(SEM) models. Research findings show that CIP data quality had a statistically meaningful positive impact on user satisfaction and user satisfaction had a meaningful positive impact on loyalty.

  • 1. Only 6 libraries(23.1%) among 26 surveyed libraries have a person or part in charge of continuing education. It means that the method to select education program and education object is systemless. The 19 libraries (73.1%) encourage continuing education of librarian. 2. Compared with the group who didn't receive a formal education, the group who received have a high degree in the grade of confidence, self-satisfaction and ability for job in Internet education case. And the group that received a formal education have also a high degree in the grade of ability for job in OA education case. Confidence, self-satisfaction for job in the carreer is significantly different according to the formal education in Internet education case and OA education case. • Upon the growing popularity of knowledge information and paid digital content, the Internet knowledge exchange market had emerged. A Internet knowledge exchange market consists of general characteristics of a market where a wide variety of knowledge is exchanged at market-appropriate prices, the Internet knowledge exchange market is recently gaining momentum with specialized knowledge items such as design, program source, patent information, consulting service, multimedia, or resumes, as it seeks to secure competitive advantage over its peer markets. Considering the immense influence that these Internet markets will exert on the existing system of knowledge circulation including libraries and information centers, this study aims to contribute to a better understanding of Korea's knowledge circulation structure by analyzing the current standing of the Internet knowledge exchange market.
