본 연구는 도서관공간구성이 필요한 환경적 요인, 도서관공간 관련 실무의 중요도, 사서가 갖추어야 할 도서관공간기획 능력이 도서관공간기획 관련 교육에 미치는 영향에 대한 사서의 인식을 파악하고자 시작하였으며, 연구결과를 바탕으로 도서관공간기획 업무를 담당하는 사서와 사서를 대상으로 하는 도서관공간기획 관련 교육 방향에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 도서관공간기획 관련 교과내용에 미치는 영향에 관한 조사를 바탕으로 교육의 방향과 개선사항을 제안하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 도서관공간기획 관련 교육은 공간기획 실무를 중심으로 진행되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 도서관공간기획 과정에서 사서의 참여는 이용자 및 전문가와의 원활한 소통을 위해 중요하게 인식되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 도서관공간기획 관련 교육방법과 교육과정을 도서관 규모와 예산에 따라 계획하는 방안이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 넷째, 도서관공간기획 관련 교육에 대한 적극적인 홍보가 필요할 것으로 보인다. 도서관 공간교육의 적극적인 홍보를 통해 사서의 공간실무 참여와 필요성은 강조될 수 있으며, 나아가 도서관 운영과 이용자들에게 도서관서비스를 제공하는데 기여하게 될 것이다.

This study is including the independent project, "building children's library of the town" that is conducted by a local resident. The study object is the contents of the "design workshop for library planning" and the general process during one year since the opening. This study is delivering "information of children's library" through the work-shop and is conducting the role of a professional space planner by measuring the blueprint. Thus, the study could be conducted with synthetic viewpoint on each library. The followings are the results from the study. First, there were various space operations and a variety of programs in the case library that is independently managed. This is directing to "the constructive and active space usage" by the users and finally results in positive circulation. Secondly, there is a change through the process of execution and operation in the library construction plan. There are needs for the flexible space expansion and adjustment, modifiable furniture layout and design and various keeping areas because there is on-going tendency of corresponding space change. The third, the author could draw more practicable consideration points for space planning by looking at the trend of space change in Transactionist viewpoint. Thus, this study is very meaningful in terms of planning of sustainable public areas.

본 연구의 목적은 공공도서관이 공간운영을 계획할 때 참조할 수 있는 기준과 권장사항들이 무엇인지 그리고 도서관이 새로운 공간계획을 할 때 고려해야 할 사항들이 무엇인지를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 IFLA의 도서관 공간산출법, 호주의 NSW 도서관의회에서 제공하는 공공도서관 공간운영기준 그리고 프랑스의 대학도서관을 위한 공간운영 권장사항을 조사 분석하였다. 비교분석을 통해 국내 공공도서관을 위한 공간운영권 장기준(안)을 제시하였다. 권장기준(안)은 공공도서관의 영역을 장서공간, 이용자공간, 사무공간, 문화공간, 지원공간 그리고 선택적 공간으로 구분하였으며, 구분된 각 개별 공간이 전체 도서관건물에서 차지하는 비율을 장서공간을 기준으로 영역별로 제시하였다. 그러나 기준을 적용함에 있어 개별 도서관의 건물사정과 제공하는 서비스가 도서관마다 상이하기 때문에 지역사회의 분위기와 요구를 반영하는 것이 매우 중요하다.

In this era of information, the public library takes a important role in the local community. In several years, public libraries have been proliferated in our society. However, there have not been specific planning standards of space size for construction of public library. The situation has lead the local governments to the need of consulting for the construction and management of library in search of appropriate guideline. The research paper focuses on the result of consulting support project for construction and management of public library. It examines total 11 libraries which were consulted from 2009 to 2011. It examines the configurational differences between the first scheme from the local government and the final scheme after the consulting, and the percentages of gross areas of each parts of library, reference and reading area, office area, education and cultural area, and public common use area. The analysis concludes that reference and reading area increased by 6.4% from 34.1% to 40.5%, and public common use area reduced by 6.1% from 30.2% to 24.1%, which represents a certain tendency of the configuration ratio of the each parts. Thus, the paper could be a starting point of establishing planning standard of space size for public library.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the planning guideline of individual space size for public library. The 26 cases were selected from the data of outstanding libraries built after the year 2000. The paper focused on the comparison between the data from analysis and the guideline from manual book of public library. The result of this study was as followed ; The first, reference reading rooms were open-plan rather than segmented. The second, the percentages of reference reading spaces from the data were lower than the guidelines. It proved the fact that the role of public library expanded to cultural community space. The third, children's space retained sufficient numbers of book collections. It represented that people realized the importance of children's library in terms of cultural education. The fourth, the percentage of space size of cultural area showed high amount of numbers. It proved the fact that the public library as community center was required various cultural programs. The fifth, the percentages of preservation library were lower than the guideline in case of the big libraries, while the small libraries were higher. The book collections of detached annex libraries should be linked with the central libraries.

2000년 공공도서관에 대한 정보화 사업의 일환으로 디지털자료 전용공간이 대다수의 도서관에 마련되었지만 획일적인 디자인으로 인해 이용자의 다양한 행위를 수용하기에는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 공공도서관 디지털공간의 공간계획요소에 대한 문헌 및 설문조사를 통하여 디지털 세대 이용자의 새로운 요구에 대응하기 위하여 공공도서관 이용자가 정보활동 시 중요하다고 생각하는 공간계획요소에 대한 중요도평가를 실시하였다. 중요도 평가를 위하여 1차적으로 각 기관의 도서관 기준 및 평가지표, 선행연구를 분석하여 50개의 요소가 도출되었고 이를 이용자 150명에게 설문조사 하였다. 중요도의 평균값 이상 도출된 요소를 중심으로 요인분석을 실시하였으며 비슷한 성격의 요소들 간의 상관성을 파악하여 요인별 공간계획요소를 분류하고자 하였다. 연구결과 계획적요인, 디자인적요인, 심리적요인, 기술적요인 총 4개의 요인으로 분류되었다. 이와 같은 요인별 디지털공간계획요소들을 평가도구로 하여 차후 공공도서관 공간평가와 이용자 만족도 조사를 실시함으로서 구체적인 공간계획방안 마련에 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.

본 연구에서는 한국의 지역대표도서관과 비슷한 위계에서 유사한 기능을 수행하는 일본의 도도부현립(都道府縣立)도서관의 상호협력체계 분석을 통하여, 국내의 지역대표도서관 건립의 기초 자료로 활용하고자 한다. 연구를 위해 일본 문부과학성이 선정한 도도부현립(都道府縣立)도서관 우수 선진 사례 도서관 8개 관을 방문하여 상호협력 체계와 상호협력서비스 현황을 분석하고, 그 중 5개 관을 선정하여 도면분석을 통한 공간구성 분석을 진행하였다. 그 결과 도도부현립(都道府縣立)도서관은 일본의 지역대표도서관으로서 역할과 기능을 정확하게 인지하고 전국구 단위에서 국립 국회도서관뿐만 아니라 인근의 지역대표도서관과도 상호협력을 시행하며 범국가적인 상호협력체계를 형성하고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 또 공간구성에서는 도서관의 역할에 따라 사무영역과 지원영역의 업무관리부문의 구성비가 가장 높게 나타나는 공간 구성비를 나타내고 있었다.

The main purpose of this study is to analyze construction of space through the investigation of the cases of school community library through Gangneung-si's life-learning project and the findings from the analysis could be summarized as below. Firstly, most space used for school community library has the size of two classes in school on average and locals use generally space for reference and learning at school community library. Secondly, the construction of space of school community library is categorized into one for book-returning, references, reading, group learning and information, and an audio-visual space is also used for group learning and reading. A space for book-returning has features based on the location of its entrance and a space for reading features stand-up and sitting-on space considering size and usability. And a space for group learning has the feature of space planning that makes it possible for local people to get library programs and seminars and a space for information shows its feature of space planning that uses the wall.

본 연구에서는 도서관에 대한 전문적인 지식과 공간구성에 대한 기획, 디자인 및 건축에 대한 기본 지식을 갖춘 인재 양성을 위해, 자기설계전공 기반의 도서관공간기획전공을 개발하고 이에 대한 교육목표, 인재상, 전공역량 등을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 관련 문헌분석, 전문가 의견수렴, 그리고 수요자 설문조사를 수행하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 도서관공간기획전공에 요구되는 인재상은 공간기획인재, 디자인적사고인재, 창의적실무인재로 파악되었다. 둘째, 인재상별 전공역량은 도서관환경 분석 능력, 공간콘셉트도출 능력, 이용자 요구 분석능력, 이해관계 조정 능력, 공간구성능력, 공간디자인 이해 능력, 실무 적용 능력으로 총 7개의 역량을 도출하였다. 이를 기반으로 향후 도서관공간기획전공의 교육목표, 인재상, 인재상에 부합한 전공역량을 실현할 수 있는 교과목이 개발되어야 하며, 도서관공간기획전공이 자기설계 기반의 전공으로 학생들이 실패하지 않고 적응할 수 있도록 이에 대한 운영 방안이 설계되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

The subject specialization room will be able to support university library users who are inclined to use the general reading room. This study is the research of the area planning for university library's subject specialization room. For the evaluation, 431 users from 15 university libraries in 14 universities located across Seoul were surveyed. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS. Frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, f-test were used. Results of the study are as follow. Subject specialization rooms in university libraries can be classified via the analysis of spatial characteristics. According to the area ratio of data space and reading space in a subject specialization room, the subject room can be separated into data-loaning and data-reading types. Old libraries are more likely to be data-loaning types, where reading room is small and there are a lot of bookshelves. The annual increase in library collections causes space for bookshelves to decrease. As a result, space for reading has been gradually transformed into space for stacking data. It is necessary to introduce ways to maintain enough space for both reading and stacking data. One way includes movable compact shelving, which can partially replace existing fixed shelves.
