This exploratory study analyzed the structure of collaborative network among small libraries. The survey was conducted with the small libraries in Bucheon region. In order to analyze the structural features of the network, this study used social network analysis methods. The results of the study indicate that public small libraries has high density networks with other small libraries and performed a central role in the whole network. Private small libraries were, however, isolated in the whole network indicating their weak collaboration with other small libraries.

This paper used the network analysis method to analyse a variety of attributes of searcher's search behaviors which was appeared on search access log data. The results of this research are as follows. First, the structure of network represented depending on the similarity of the query that user had inputed. Second, we can find out the particular searchers who occupied in the central position in the network. Third, it showed that some query were shared with ego-searcher and alter searchers. Fourth, the total number of searchers can be divided into some sub-groups through the clustering analysis. The study reveals a new recommendation algorithm of associated searchers and search query through the social network analysis, and it will be capable of utilization.

The purpose of this study is to review the processing of Korean related personal identities included in the OCLC WorldCat Identities Network and propose how to improve its errors. With twelve samples of English and Korean personal and subject identities, their related identities and works were examined, and their bibliographic records were retrieved from WorldCat. In searching WorldCat, inconsistencies in default search queries and the processing of identities with a date or a fuller form of name were observed.

The purpose of this study is to review and analyze the overlapping functions and activities of the nationwide scientific and technical information network system This study is helpful for users to gather information and for librarians and nations to reduce wastage of budgets through discarding the duplicated expenses of performing activities of the network systems. The research targets are KISTI and KERIS, which are functioning as the information network systems in the fields of science and technology. The research methods are literary reviews for theory background and analysis of their activities from internet homepages. As a result of the research, it is found and confirmed that there are some overlapping and duplicating functions and activities in the network systems.

With the development of the IT and internet, companies try to use Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, smart phone for their marketing and customer relationship management. What is called social media marketing appear and it lead to new value creation to the company. However, until now most of libraries in Korea didn't have much interest in marketing and PR. In recent, libraries are starting to be interested in marketing and social network service. Library try to use social network service for marketing. This research introduces the various cases and status of using social network service for marketing in Korea and international library field, analyzes these cases from a marketing perspective. Finally, this research suggests the considerations and successful strategy for using social media marketing in library field.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the methods for activating blogs in university libraries by investigating and analyzing their current management conditions. For this purpose, first, literatures related to library blogs were reviewed to examine the theoretical background. Second, the contents of university library blogs actively used, were investigated. Third, a survey with librarians in charge of the library blogs was carried out in order to identify problems dealing with blog management. The study's analysis presented the problems that university library blogs faced. And also enrichment strategies for university library blogs are suggested based on the research.

The purpose of this study is to identify an acquisition material duplication rate among three academic libraries for developing an academic library network. Three academic libraries located in Gyonggi-do, Korea were selected for data collection. The acquisition lists in both 2000 and 2001 were compared and analyzed between two libraries respectively. The results show that the duplication rate is 0.4% in 2000 and 2.8% in 2001 between medium in libraries, and 1.33%, 1.11% in 2000 and 3.63%, 3.88% in 2001 between a big size library and medium size libraries. These tell us that a big library can get benefit from a library network with medium size libraries.

In this study, Network Text Analysis was performed on 1,752 articles which had been published in recent 7 years and drew the subject concept distribution and their relations in Library and Information Science research areas. Furthermore, for analyzing more recent trends and changing aspects, this study performed secondary analysis based on 482 articles published in recent 2 years. Results show that "public library", and "academic library" concepts were most frequently studied in the field and "evaluation", "education", and "web" concepts showed the highest-degree centrality during the recent 7 years. In the result of recent two years analysis, "web", and "classification" concepts showed high frequency and "user", and "public library" showed an improvement in high degree centrality.

Bibliographic Network has been a goal about not only to support resource sharing within libraries but also to pursue economic efficiency of cataloging. But nowadays, as resources in diverse media and format have been poured out, printed resources based union catalog should change to new resources finding system which include diverse type of resources. This study analyzes changing factors of bibliographic network and strategies for LC, NII, OCLC, NLA who try to turn over a new service. Finally basis on these findings, suggest task for Korean new generation bibliographic network service which is focused on introducing new collaborating model and developing new resource finding system.

This study purposes to identify how the 'selection' of library materials shold be changed in the electronic environment to improve library services fundamentally. The study scrutinized the essence of selection, the relationship between selection and collection management, and the results of various studies to define the selection. The study implies: 1) the selection must be changed to the function providing users with assessment information of library materials, which helps the users access to entire scholarly information. 2) the assessment information could be input from different libraries and used by all users connected to the library network.
