사서교사의 역할에 대한 인식연구 (A Study of the Roles of the Teacher-Librarians as Perceived by Supervisors, Principals, Teachers and Teacher-Librarians in Korea)

  • The school library plays very important and central role for the fullfillment of educational objective in the process of implementing the school curriculum. And the media specialist known as teacher-librarian is. primarily responsible for the successful operation and effective management of the media center. It is true that effectiveness of the school library depends greatly on the cooperative coordination among teacher-librarian, teacher and principal in addition to the strong support and effective supervision of school district authority, specifically, supervisor of school library program. The successful program therefore is influenced by their perception of the teacher-librarian's role. The purpose of this study was to investigate the teacher-librarian's. educational role perceived by teacher-librarian, teacher, principal and school district supervisor. A standard task model describing both the management and educational functions and expectations of teacher-librarian was proposed after studying the relevant current standards of four countries. Serveral hypotheses were made regarding role perception and a survey instrument was designed based on this proposed task model and the results of the literature review to validate the hypotheses. The questionnaires were mailed out and the returned questionaires were analyzed by SPSS computer routine. The major findings are summarized as follows: 1) There was difference of the role perception among teacher-librarian, teacher, principal and district supervisor at the significance level of p<0.001 for both management and educational functions of teacher­librarian. The mean score of the teacher-librarian was highest among four groups and the score for the educational function tasks were lower than that of management function tasks. 2) The positive correlation exists at the significance level of p<0.001 between the role perception and the attitude toward changing social trends such as acceptance of new technology, need for better communication and information. 3) The positive correlation exists at the significance level of p<0.001 between the role perception and the view on the curriculum and teaching method.

학교도서관의 교육적 효과에 대한 중학생의 인지도분석 (A Study on Junior High School Students' Perception of the Educational Impact of School Libraries)

  • 중학생을 대상으로 학교도서관 이용실태와 도서관의 효과에 대한 인지도를 조사하고, 도서관 운영수준-사서교사 학교 사서교사는 없으나 이용 활성화 학교 비활성화 학교-에 따라 효과 인지도에 차이가 있는지 분석하였다. 이용실태로는 학교생활 속에서 학교도서관이 차지하는 비중, 이용빈도 도서관의 유익성, 이용 목적, 도서관활용수업의 효과 등을 조사하였다. 학교도서관의 효과에 대한 학생 인지도를 조사하기 위해서 7개 영역 38문항으로 조사하였다. 7개 영역 전체의 평균은 5점 만점에서 3.24이며 실태조사와 인지도 조사에서 학생들은 학교도서관이 독서활동에서 가장 크게 도움이 된다고 응답하였다. 학교도서관 운영수준별로 효과 인지도의 평균을 비교하면 사서교사 학교 3.37, 활성화 학교 3.20, 그리고 비활성화 학교 3.16이다. 학교도서관의 운영수준은 학생들이 학교도서관으로부터 얻을 수 있는 교육적 효과의 지표가 된다.

한국 공공도서관장의 전문직의식과 그 영향요인 (A study on the professional perception of public library directors and its influential factors)

  • The purpose of this study was attempted to investigate the professional perception of the public library directors in Korea, and to measure and to compare the perceptional difference between Directors that have or have not of Librarian's license. The authors obtained data through questionaires by mail to 188 directors of public Libraries. The number of respondents which become available for analysis was 188 and the response rate was 58.8%. The Major findings of this study are summarized as follows: 1. The professional perception of public Library Directors differs from the qualification for a librarian. 2. The Librarian's license made difference with regards to perceptional attitudes, consciousness of services, satisfying on job situation of Directors. 3. The professional perception of public Library Directors may have influence on each others of a school career, task work, colleague understandings on the gob situations. 4. but the difference have no significance statiscally. 5. Thus we need to study other types of organization and influencial variables for generalization of this study.

도서관 견학이 예비사서의 사서 핵심능력 중요도 인식에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of the Library Tour for Pre-librarians on the Importance Perception of the Librarian Core Competency in South Korea)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 예비사서들이 도서관 견학프로그램을 통해 다양한 도서관의 사서직무들을 직접 보고 들어봄으로써 사서 핵심능력 중요도 인식에 어떠한 변화가 있는지를 밝혀 사서양성기관, 도서관의 견학담당 사서, 그리고 예비사서들에게 도서관 견학이 갖는 교육적 의의를 제시하기 위함이다. 도서관 견학프로그램에 참여한 예비사서 29명을 대상으로 도서관 견학프로그램을 적용하기 사전 사후 사서 핵심능력 중요도 인식에 관한 설문조사 분석 결과, 도서관 견학이 예비사서들의 사서 핵심능력에 대한 중요도 인식에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 예비사서의 도서관 견학프로그램이 향후 사서 직무수행을 위한 사서 핵심능력 중요도 인식에 영향을 주어 예비사서의 자기주도적 학습에 동기유발이 될 수 있으며 사서양성기관에서는 현장기반의 사서 양성 교육과정 개발과 실행에 필요한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 교사의 사서교사와의 협력 독서교육 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고, 협력 독서교육을 위해 학교도서관과 사서교사가 해야 할 방안을 모색하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기도지역 초등학교 9개 학교, 교사 176명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 수집한 자료의 데이터 코딩과 데이터 선별 과정을 거쳐 통계적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학교도서관의 도서관 역할, 이벤트 역할 인식은 초등학교 교사가 협력 독서교육에서 효과를 기대하며, 사서교사(사서)가 전문성이 있다고 인식했다. 하지만 초등학교 교사의 학교도서관의 교육적 역할 인식은 협력 독서교육의 기대효과와 필요성을 낮게 인식했으며 사서교사(사서)의 전문성도 낮게 인식했다. 본 연구는 협력 독서교육 방안과 그 안에서 사서교사의 전문성을 어디에 두어야 할지를 제안하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

A Study on the Current Status and Librarian Perception of Readers' Advisory in Korean University Libraries: A focus on Leisure Reading

  • This study attempted to establish the role of university libraries for leisure reading by identifying the current status of university libraries about leisure reading, which is a part of the reading support service and by investigating and analyzing the university library librarian's percep tion of the necessity of leisure reading. To this end, a survey was conducte d on university libraries. As a result of the survey, 78% of university libraries were conducting leisure reading, and 72% of them provided separate space. Separate manpower was provided only in 30% of libraries, and book lists were provided mainly by best sellers. Regarding the need for leisure reading (4.28) and the role of university libraries (4.32), librarians responded that it was a necessary service for university libraries, and university library librarians that currently provide spaces and program s were more aware of the need.

A Study on Perception of Librarian's Job Prospects

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate awareness of librarian's job prospects, and to do this a survey was conducted with 502 college students in 14 Departments of Library and Information Science around Korea and 753 librarians in libraries and related agencies. The study results are as follows. First, satisfaction with educational curriculum was higher in students than librarians. Second, both students and librarians regarded workplace based practical training as employment requirements and also evaluated certifications and academic performance as important requirements. Third, both groups asked that information on employment rates be available in a timely manner, and perceived that the librarian's job prospects were not bright. Therefore, in order to improve employment of librarians, it will be necessary to establish a job information system, reorganize the current educational curriculum into a practice-oriented curriculum, and introduce the national curriculum statements (NCS)-based curriculum.

공공도서관 목적의 구조에 관한 연구 -공공도서관 직원의 인식을 바탕으로- (A Study on the Structural Goal of the Public Library through the Staff's Perception of Public Libraries in Korea)

  • The goal of the public library as perceived by its staff has asignificant influence on establishing, implementing and restructuring the objectives of the public library. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the nature of staff's perception of the goal. The goals of the library are divided into 'actual goal' and 'preferred goal' according to the level of goals, and into 'aoutput goal' a and 'asupport goal'a according to the areas of goals. This study aims at clarifying the relationship among various goals of the public library. On the basis of staff's perception, personal characteristics of individual staff and their effects on the goal can be analyzed. For the purpose of the research, the author took a sample from the 238 public libraries in Korea and tested a few hypotheses extracted from the questionnaires. A statistical software package called SYSTAT was used to process the data. The result of the study can be summarized as follows: 1. Staff members of the public libraries tend to place a higher priority on support goal with instrumental value over output goal, the terminal value of the public library. This is tantamount to a displacement of goals. 2. Personal characteristics such as the age and the length of work experience appear to influence their present perception of actual goal at large. On the other hand, the formal qualification as librarian and special features regarding the job hierarchy seem to affect the areas of support goal within the actual goal. 3. Perception of preferred goal is affected mainly by formal qualification as librarian among their personal characteristics. 4. There is a significant difference between the staff's perception of actual and preferred goals in the large. Goal discrepancy which indicates the expectation of change and the degree of conflict in goals is very large as well.

도서관 아동서비스를 위한 직무분석 연구 (A Study of the Job Analysis for Library Children's Services in Korea)

  • 이 연구는 국내외 도서관의 직무사례를 분석한 선행연구 결과를 바탕으로 국내 도서관의 아동서비스 직무를 분석하고 표준모형을 제안한 후속연구이다. 이를 위하여 공공도서관과 아동도서관을 대상으로 직무에 대한 인식도를 조사 분석한 다음에 아동서비스를 강화하기 위한 표준 직무모형(중요성, 난이도, 전문성, 수행요건)을 제안하였다. 또한 표준 직무모형의 실천성을 화보하기 위한 아동사서의 전문성 제고와 자격제도화 방안을 제시하였다.

U-도서관 서비스에 대한 사서의 인식과 개선방안 (A Study on the Improvement Plan and Perception of Librarian about U-Library Service)

  • 이 연구는 U-도서관 서비스의 운영 실태를 조사하여 U-도서관 서비스에 대한 사서들의 인식이 어떤 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고 U-도서관 서비스가 합리적으로 운영되기 위한 개선방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 문화체육관광부의 지원을 받아 U-도서관 서비스를 시행한 전국의 10개 지자체를 선정하여, 사서들의 인구통계학적 요인과 U-도서관 서비스 운영의 차이점인 업무독립성 유무, U-도서관 서비스 운영주체인 사서들의 고용형태 차이에 따라 U-도서관 서비스에 대한 사서들의 인식에 어떤 차이가 있는지를 측정하였다. 이를 위해 통합적 연구방법(설문조사, 방문조사, 전화 인터뷰)을 사용하였다.
