DNA 측정용 SAW 센서의 주파수 증대에 의한 감도향상 (Improvement in Sensitivity by Increasing the Frequency of SAW Sensors for DNA Detection)

  • 본 논문에서는 probe DNA의 고정화 및 Probe DNA와 target DNA의 혼성화 반응을 감지할 수 있는 DNA 측정용 고주파 SAW 센서의 주파수 증대에 따른 감도향상에 대해 연구하였다. 센서는 $36^{\circ}$ YX $LiTaO_3$ 압전 단결정 기판위에 Au 박막이 증착된 측정채널 (sensing channel)과 기준채널 (reference channel)로 구성되며 200MHz에서 발진되는 이중 지연선 형태로 제작되었다. 또한 SAW 센서의 감지 미케니즘의 최적화를 위해 SAW 센서의 Au 지연선상의 Probe DNA의 최적 고정화 반응농도와 target DNA의 최적 혼성화 반응농도를 결정하였으며, 디지털 시린지 펌프시스템을 구성하여 실험자에 따른 오차를 최소화하였다. 측정채널의 Au 박막 지연선상에 probe DNA를 고정화시킨 후 target DNA를 주입하면, DNA의 혼성화 반응이 일어나며 Au 지연선상의 질량이 변하게 된다. 따라서 질량하중 효과에 대한 센서의 주파수 변화를 측정하였다. 개발된 센서는 최대 0.066ng/ml/Hz의 민감도를 가지며 질량하중 효과에 대한 안정적인 주파수 변화를 나타내었다.

ZnO와 CuO 첨가에 따른 NKN-LST 세라믹스의 압전 특성 (Piezoelectric Properties of NKN-LST Ceramics with ZnO and CuO Addition)

  • Additions (ZnO, CuO) doped $0.98(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-0.02Li(Sb_{0.17}Ta_{0.83})O_3$ (0.98NKN-0.02LST-x) lead free piezoelectric ceramics have been fabricated by ordinary sintering technique. The effects of additions doping on the dielectric, piezoelectric, and ferroelectric properties of the ceramics were mainly investigated. X-ray diffraction of the sample appeared orthorhombic phase. The specimen doped with additions exhibits enhanced electrical properties ($d_{33}$= 153 pC/N). These results indicate that the 0.98NKN-0.02LST-x ceramics is a promising candidate for lead-free piezoelectric ceramics for applications such as piezoelectric actuators, harmonic oscillator and so on.

  • In this study, $(1-x)(Na_{0.52}K_{0.443}Li_{0.037})(Nb_{0.883}Sb_{0.08}Ta_{0.037})O_3-x(Bi_{0.5}(Na_{0.7}K_{0.3})_{0.5}ZrO_3$ ceramics were fabricated by BNKZ substitution using a conventional solid-state method to develop excellent lead-free piezoelectric ceramics for piezoelectric actuators; their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were then investigated. All specimens were in the orthorhombic phase. $NKL-NSTO_3$ ceramics with x=0.01 showed excellent piezoelectric properties. The density (${\rho}$), piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$), planar piezoelectric coupling coefficient ($k_p$), mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$), and dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$) had optimized values of $4.56g/cm^3$, 208 pC/N, 0.43, 96, and 975, respectively.

  • Blue light of 0.15mW at 417.6nm is generated in a quasi-phase-matched LITaO$_{3}$ optical waveguide. A new heat-treatment technique using a metal-oxide mask is proposed to fabricate the periodic domain-inverted grating with less degraded optical properties. The mask promotes the proton indiffusion by inhibition of the proton outdiffusion during the heat treatment. It reduces the amount of the initial proton exchange for the domain inversion and prevents the formation of crystal defects on the surface accompanied by the proton outdiffusion. Consequently, it minimizes the degradation of nonlinear coefficient and scattering loss caused by the initial proton exchange.

유리 분말과 함께 소결한 (Na,K)NbO3계 압전체의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성 (Microstructures and Electrical Properties of (Na,K)NbO3-Based Piezoceramics Sintered with Glass Frit)

  • $(Na,K)NbO_3$-based piezoelectric ceramics were synthesized by a liquid phase sintering method with a selected glass frit. The effects of the content of the glass frit and the sintering temperature on the microstructure and the electrical properties of the samples were investigated. With the 0.1 wt% of glass frit content, $(Na_{0.52}K_{0.44}Li_{0.06})(Nb_{0.84}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.06})O_3$ (NKL-NTS) ceramics showed the maximum values of the relative density (99.1%) and the electro-mechanical coupling factor ($k_p$: 0.32) at the sintering temperature of $1,050^{\circ}C$. It might mean that a liquid phase sintering with a suitable glass frit having the lower flow temperature could improve the relative density and the piezoelectric properties.

  • The purpose of this study is measured surface acoustic wave(SAW) characteristics to confirm utilization possibility as SAW sensor using new Pb(Mg$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3/) $O_3$-PbTiO$_3$ (PMN-PT) piezoelectric substrate. We have tried to see if the material can be practically available as a new surface acoustic wave (SAW) biosensor to detect protein. The experimental results clarified that the frequency filtering of the central frequency of the PMN-PT substrate is a superior result to that of the LiTaO$_3$ (LT) substrate, but the result was not completely satisfactory. We know there is a problem in the design of inter-digital transducer (IDT) pattern. The waves transferred through the input terminal forms SAW which is sure to be transferred to the direction of the output terminal and the backward direction of the input terminal. This reflected wave is reiterated with SAW, which is transferred to the output direction, and so the frequency filtering gives a not good result. The electromechanical coupling coefficient of the PMN-PT substrate is excellent, and we can use it as a SAW sensor, in the near future, provided that there will be a new IDT design to increase the frequency filtering.

(Na,K)NbO3계 무연 압전체에서 Cu2O 첨가물의 농도 변화에 따른 미세구조 및 전기적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Microstructure and Electrical Properties in (Na,K)NbO3-Based Pb-free Piezoelectrics Doped with Various Cu2O Concentration)

  • The $(Na_{0.52}K_{0.44})(Nb_{0.9}Sb_{0.06})O_3-0.04dLiTaO_3$ (NKNS-LT) ceramics with various $Cu_2O$ concentration were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction method. The $Cu_2O$ content was varied in the range of 0.1~0.4 wt%. The effects of Cu on microstructure, crystallographic phase transition, and piezoelectric properties were investigated. The material with perovskite structure had a tetragonal phase (T1) when $Cu_2O$ concentration was less than 0.3 wt% and it transformed to another tetragonal phase (T2) when the $Cu_2O$ amount was greater than 0.3 wt%. The phase boundary between T1 and T2 phases appeared at around 0.3 wt% of $Cu_2O$ concentration. The piezoelectric properties were shown the maximum values at the composition of the phase boundary. The electro-mechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) was 0.42 and the piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$) was 245 pC/N at the 0.3 wt% of $Cu_2O$ concentration.

  • In this paper, in order to develop lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, $(Li_{0.04}Na_{0.44}K_{0.52)(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})O_3$ ceramics were fabricated with the variation of calcination temperature and sintering temperature. The ceramics couldn't be sintered at temperature less than $1110^{\circ}C$ and showed the highest density at calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. Crystal structure of the ceramics showed pseudo-tetragonal phase. At the calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$ and sintering temperature of $1110^{\circ}C$, the optimal values of $density=4.64g/cm^3,\;kp=0.45,\;{\varepsilon}r=1336,\;d_{33}=254pC/N\;and\;Tc=335^{\circ}C$ were obtained.

  • In this paper, in order to develop Pb-free piezoelectric ceramics, $(Li_{0.04}Na_{0.44}K_{0.52})(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})O_3$ ceramics were fabricated with the variation of calcination temperature and sintering temperature. Specimens couldn't be sintered below $111^{\circ}C$ and showed the largest density at calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. Specimens manufactured with the variation of calcination temperature showed pseudo-tetragonal phase, and showed the optimal values of kp=0.45, ${\varepsilon}r$=1336 and $d_{33}$=254 at calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$ and sintering temperature of $1110^{\circ}C$.

Development of Miniature Quad SAW Filter Bank based on PCB Substrate

  • This paper describes the development of a new $5.0{\times}3.2mm$ SAW filter bank which is consist of 12 L, C matching components and 4 SAW bare chips on PCB substrate with CSP technology. We improved the manufacturing cost by removing the ceramic package through direct flip bonding of $LiTaO_3$ SAW bare chip on PCB board after mounting L, C passive element on PCB board. After that we realized the hermitic sealing by laminating the epoxy film. To confirm the confidentiality and durability of the above method, we have obtained the optimum flip bonding & film laminating condition, and figured out material property and structure to secure the durability & moisture proof of PCB board. The newly developed super mini $5.0{\times}3.2mm$ filter bank shows the superior features than those of existing products in confidence, electrical, mechanical characters.
