This paper presents the findings of a study in which students at a four-year university were surveyed in an effort to analyze and verify the differences in perceived security awareness, security-related activities, and security damage experiences when using smartphones, based on demographic variables such as gender, academic year, and college major. Moreover, the perceived security awareness items and security-related activities were tested to verify whether they affect the students' security damage experience. Based on survey data obtained from 592 participants, the findings indicate that demographic differences exist for some of the survey question items. The majority of the male students replied "affirmative" to some of the questions related to perceived security awareness and "enthusiastic" to questions about security-related activities. Some academic year differences exist in the responses to perceived security awareness and security-related activities. On the whole, freshmen had the lowest level of security awareness. Security alert seems to be very high in sophomores, but it decreases as the students become older. While the difference in perceived security awareness based on college major was not significant, the difference in some security-related activities based on that variable was significant. No significant difference was found in some items such as storing private information in smartphones and frequency of implementation of security applications based on the college major variable. However, differences among the college majors were verified in clicking hyperlinks in unknown SMS messages and in the number of security applications in smartphones. No differences were found in security damage experiences based on gender, academic year, and college major. Security awareness items had no impact on the experience of security damage in smartphones. However, some security activities, such as storing resident registration numbers in a smartphone, clicking hyperlinks in unknown SMS messages, the number of security apps in a smartphone, and the frequency of implementation of security apps did have an impact on security damage.
In case of a emergency situation or a natural disaster, a warning notification system is an essential tool to notify at-risk people in advance and provide them useful information to survive the event. Although some systems have been proposed such as emergency alert system using android, SMS, or P2P overlay network, these works mainly focus on a reliable message distribution methods. In this paper, we proposed a novel design and implementation of a personalized warning notification system to help inform not only the at-risk people but also their family and friends about the coming disaster as well as escape plan and survival information. The system consists of three main modules: the user selection module, the knowledge based message generator, and message distribution modules. The user selection module collects the list of people involved in the event and sorts them based on their level of involvement (their location, working position and social relationships). The knowledge based message generator provides each person with a personalized message that is concise and contains only the necessary information for the particular person based on their working position and their involvement in the event. The message distribution module will then find a best path for sending the personalized messages based on trustiness of locations since network failures may exist in a disaster event. Additionally, the system also have a comprehensive database and an interactive web interface for both user and system administrator. For evaluation, the system was implemented and demonstrated successfully with a building on fire scenario.

The SDN(Software Defined Networking) technology, which appeared to overcome the limitations of the existing network system, resolves the rigidity of the existing system through the separation of HW and SW in network equipment. These characteristics of SDN provide wide scalability beyond hardware-oriented network equipment, and provide flexible load balancing policies in data centers of various sizes. In the meantime, many studies have been conducted to apply the advantages of SDN to data centers and have shown their effectiveness. The method mainly used in previous studies was to periodically check the server load and perform load balancing based on this. In this method, the more the number of servers and the shorter the server load check cycle, the more traffic increases. In this paper, we propose a new load balancing technique that can eliminate unnecessary traffic and manage server resources more efficiently by reporting to the controller when a specific level of load occurs in the server to solve this limitation.
In this paper, we develop interactive content services for preventing depression of users through an intelligent Internet of Things(IoT) mirror system. For interactive content services, an IoT mirror device measures attention and meditation data from an EEG headset device and also measures facial expression data such as "sad", "angery", "disgust", "neutral", " happy", and "surprise" classified by a multi-layer perceptron algorithm through an webcam. Then, it sends the measured data to an oneM2M-compliant IoT server. Based on the collected data in the IoT server, a machine learning model is built to classify three levels of depression (RED, YELLOW, and GREEN) given by a proposed merge labeling method. It was verified that the k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) model could achieve about 93% of accuracy by experimental results. In addition, according to the classified level, a social network service agent sent a corresponding alert message to the family, friends and social workers. Thus, we were able to provide an interactive content service between users and caregivers.
Much research efforts are being exerted for the study of intrusion detection system(IDS). However little work has been for the communication medels and performance eveluation of the IDS. Here we present a communication framework for doing hybrid intrusion detection in which agents are used for local intrusion detections with a centralized data anaysis componenta for a global intrusion detection at multiple domains environment. We also assume the combination of host-based and network-based intrusion detection systems in the oberall framework. From the local domain, a set of information such as alert, and / or log data are reported to the upper level. At the root of the hierarchy, there is a global manager where data coalescing is performed. The global manager delivers a security policy to its lower levels as the result of aggregation and correlation of intrusion detection alerts. In this paper, we model the communication mechanisms for the hybrid IDS and develop a simular using OPNET modeller for the performance evaluation of transmission capabillities for the delivery of data and policy. We present and compare simulation results based on several scenarios focuding on communication delay.

Like natural climate change on the planet earth, the climate in software development environments is also changing (fast). Like the natural weather, the software environment is also disruptive. As the climate experts alert and suggest taking necessary measures to overcome certain challenges to make this earth a safer and comfortable living place, likewise this article also alerts the relevant stakeholders of software craftsmanship about the dynamic challenges that traditional Software Engineering (SE) with purely "Engineering mind-set" is not capable to respond. Hence, some new thoughts to overcome such challenges are shared. Fundamentally, based on the historical evidences, this article presents the authors' observation about continuous shift from traditional "Engineering-based" software development approaches to disruptive approaches - "Vibrant Softology". The authors see the cause of this shift as disruptive transformational force, which is so powerful that it is uncontrollably diminishing the "Engineering-based" approach from software development environments. The authors align it with climate change analogy. Based on this analogy, the authors feel the need to theoretically re-coin the notion of SE to some new term; perhaps Vibrant/Dynamic Softology (VS or DS). Hence, the authors suggest "a new (disruptive and dynamic) way of thinking is required to develop software". It is worth mentioning that the purpose of article and this new theory is not to disparage the notion of software engineering altogether, rather the aim is to highlight the importance of transformation from SE to its next level (perhaps VS/DS) due to the emerging needs in the software craftsmanship environment.
The purposes of this study were to identify the contents and satisfaction level of the patients received home care service, and to compare the differences of the contents by the characteristics of the patients. Seventy eight patients received home care service from 1st Jan. to 30th Sept., 1996 were data-collected to analyze the contents and outcomes of home care service. Sixty-nine patients currently receiving home care service were participated to evaluate the satisfaction level of home care service. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, $x^2$ test, and ANOVA by SPSS $PC^+$ program. The findings of this study were as follow : 1. The contents & outcomes of home care service 1) The mean age of the subjects was 64.4 years: 58% of them were female. Those who living in Seoul were 83% and the rest of the subjects was living in Kyung-Gi. 2) The subjects who had one diagnosis were 41%. Over 60% of them had the disease of neurologic & sensory system. 3) The mean number of visit was 6. Only one visit was 22%. The mean time of care was 79 minutes. Duration of visit from 31 minutes to 60 minutes were 47 %. The subjects who terminated the visit because of death were 67.3%. 62% of the persons who referred them to the home care service were nurses. 4) The pain after the service was more relieved than before. The amounts of intake, the degree of bed sore, edema & fracture after the service were more improved than before. Health status after the service was improved in general. 5) There were significant differences between initial and last conscious level in tracheostomy care & oxygen inhalation care. There was significant difference between initial and last degree of activity in blood sugar check. 6) There were significant differences on the number of visit in assessment of the status, evaluation & observation, vital sign check, skin care, injection, medication, bed sore care, colostomy care, relaxation therapy for pain relief, patient education, family care, exercise therapy, position change, supply of disinfected equipments and infection control. There were significant differences on visiting time in nasogastric tube care, drainage tube care and oxygen inhalation care. 2. The satisfaction level of home care service 1) 50% were male. Over 60 years of the subjects was 61 %. Those who living in Seoul were 82%. 2) The subjects who had one or two diagnosis were 32% respectively. 55% of the persons who referred them to the home care service were nurses. 3) Total level of satisfaction of home care service was very high. 4) The older the age, the higher the satisfaction level. The larger the number of visit, the higher the satisfaction level. 5) The subjects who were in cloudy state were higher level of satisfaction than in alert or coma state. The subjects whose activity were normal or who needed assistance were higher level of satisfaction than bedridden or immobilized subjects. These findings suggested that the patients had substantial need for posthospital care. They tended to be elderly and to have experienced the wide range of health problems associated with aging, chronicity, including limitations in activities, and other serious health problems. So, the nationwide home care systems beyond the limit of demonstration program by local association and the development of the effective financial system of home based health care are necessary for the clients who are in need of home care.

In this study, the characteristics of algae mitigation according to dam operation were quantitatively analyzed for Uiam Lake, where the Chuncheon Dam is located upstream of the main stream, Uiam Dam is located downstream, and Soyang Dam is located in the tributary stream. Nine dam operation scenarios were applied to the event of the summer of 2018 (at that time an algae alert occurred) using the EFDC model, which is capable of calculating three-dimensional hydrodynamics and water quality levels such as those associated with chlorophyll-a. The dam operation scenarios were set to generate a flushing effect via discharges in the form of pulse waves from the upstream dams and by lowering the water level at the downstream dam. At Uiam Lake, the flushing effect was different depending on the operation of the dam, and the amount of algae reduction at each point was different owing to topographic characteristics and the different base water temperatures from BukHan River and Soyang River. With regard to a point located on the left bank, it was predicted that the peak level of chlorophyll-a would be reduced by approximately 50 % or more upon pulsed discharge at 50 m3/s for three days at Soyang Dam. However, for the right bank, the amount of discharge from Soyang Dam had little effect on algae mitigation. Therefore, an appropriate dam operation could be effective for algae mitigation at specific points in the water body where large dams exist upstream and downstream, such as at Uiam Lake, in an emergency situation in which algal blooms rapidly.
At present, there has been a wide range of studies on debris flow in Korea, more specifically, on rainfall characteristics that trigger debris flow including rainfall intensity, rainfall duration, and preceding rainfall. the prediction of landslide / debris flow relies on the criteria for landslide watch and warning by the Korea Forest Service (KFS, 2012). Despite this, it has been found that most incidents of debris flow were caused by rainfall above the level of landslide watch, maximum hourly rainfall, extensive damage was caused even under the watch level. Under these circumstances, we calculated a rainfall triggering index (RTI) using the main factors that trigger debris flow-rainfall, rainfall intensity, and cumulative rainfall-to design a more sophisticated watch / warning criteria than those by the KFS. The RTI was classified into attention, caution, alert, and evacuation, and was assessed through the application of two debris flow incidents that occurred in Umyeon Mountain, Seoul, and Cheongju, Inje, causing serious damage and casualties. Moreover, we reviewed the feasibility of the RTI by comparing it with the KFS's landslide watch / warning criteria (KFS, 2012).
