A review of the features, events, and processes and scenario development for Korean risk assessment of a deep geological repository for high-level radioactive waste

  • Currently, various research institutes in Korea are conducting research to develop a safety case for deep geological repository for high-level radioactive waste (HLW). In the past, low and intermediate-level waste (LILW) was approved by a regulatory body by performing a post-closure safety assessment, but HLW has different disposal characteristics and safety objectives are different. Therefore, in the case of HLW, safety assessment should be performed based on these changed conditions, and specific procedures are also under development. In this paper, the regulatory status of prior research institutes, feature, event and process (FEP) and scenario development cases were investigated for well-organized FEP and scenario development methodologies. In addition, through the results of these surveys, the requirements and procedures necessary for the FEP and scenario development stage during the safety assessment of repository for HLW were presented. These review results are expected to be used to identify the overall status of previous studies in conducting post-closure risk assessment for HLW repository, starting with identifying regulatory requirements, the most basic element.

  • 기업 네트워크 환경 및 인터넷상에서 발생할 수 있는 보안상의 취약점들은 악의를 가진 내외부의 공격자들에게 악용될 가능성이 있다. 이러한 상황은 기업으로 하여금 정보 자산의 유출 및 파괴 등의 물리적인 피해와 더불어 복구를 위한 인력 및 시간의 소요 등 금전적인 손해를 야기시킨다. 이에 정확한 네트워크 보안 위험을 분석하여 이러한 피해의 가능성을 사전에 파악하고, 예방할 수 있는 방안을 마련하여 최대한의 보안성을 확보하여야 한다. 본 고는 이를 해결하기 위한 네트워크의 보안 수준을 측정하고 분석할 수 있는 국내에서의 접근 방법론을 살펴보고, 적절한 평가 절차 및 평가 수행 방법, 점검 항목을 도출한다.

생태관광자원으로서의 우포늪의 지속가능성 평가모형 (The Sustainability Assessment Model for Upo Wetland as a Eco-Tourism Resources)

  • 생태생태관광자원의 지속가능성을 평가하기 위해 생태관광과 관련한 전문가 집단 135명을 대상으로 설문조사하여 지속가능성에 크게 영향을 미치는 중요요인에 대한 가중치의 산정, 평가지표의 개발 및 수리적 평가모형을 정의하여 우포늪을 대상으로 평가를 실행하였다. 그 결과 현재 상태의 우포늪에 대한 지속가능성 등급수준을 확인하였으며, 등급수준의 상향을 위해 세부항목별 향상방안을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 우포늪을 대상으로 하였으나, 생태관광자원의 지속가능성 평가에 대한 구체적인 연구모형과 방법을 제시함으로써 보다 과학적이며 체계적으로 지속가능성을 평가할 수 있는 근거를 마련하였다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

특허 데이터 분석시 효율적인 노이즈 제거와 신뢰도가 향상된 특허 기술수준 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Noise Filtering of Patent Data Analysis and Level Assessment of Patent Technology which improve reliability)

  • 본 논문에서는 특허맵 분석 데이터 구축 과정에서 필요한 효율적인 노이즈 제거방법과 신뢰도가 향상된 기술수준 평가를 제안한다. 과거 수작업으로만 진행하였던 노이즈 제거 과정을 논리 연산자 AND를 활용하여 엑셀 VBA(Visual Basic Application)에서 프로그램화 하여 효율적으로 제거하여 유효 데이터를 획득할 수 있게 된다. 신뢰도가 향상된 특허의 기술수준 평가를 위하여 평균 청구항 수, 특허 패밀리 사이즈(PFS: Patent Family Size), 특허당 인용도 지수(CPP: Cites per Patent), 삼극특허, 규격화 특허경쟁력 지수(stdPCPI: Standardization Patent Diversification Index), haF-index(Hirsch a Family index)등을 사용하게 된다. 제안된 효율적인 노이즈 제거 작업을 적용한 결과는 획득된 특허 데이터의 노이즈 비율이 10% 미만으로 나타나서 데이터의 신뢰도가 높음이 확인되었다. 제안된 기술수준 평가 지수를 적용한 결과는 공통적으로 확인할 수 있는 정보에 의해 기술수준 평가를 산출함으로써 신뢰도가 향상된 균형적 기술수준 평가가 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Multi-unit Level 2 probabilistic safety assessment: Approaches and their application to a six-unit nuclear power plant site

  • The risk of multi-unit nuclear power plants (NPPs) at a site has received considerable critical attention recently. However, current probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) procedures and computer code do not support multi-unit PSA because the traditional PSA structure is mostly used for the quantification of single-unit NPP risk. In this study, the main purpose is to develop a multi-unit Level 2 PSA method and apply it to full-power operating six-unit OPR1000. Multi-unit Level 2 PSA method consists of three steps: (1) development of single-unit Level 2 PSA; (2) extracting the mapping data from plant damage state to source term category; and (3) combining multi-unit Level 1 PSA results and mapping fractions. By applying developed multi-unit Level 2 PSA method into six-unit OPR1000, site containment failure probabilities in case of loss of ultimate heat sink, loss of off-site power, tsunami, and seismic event were quantified.

  • The Systems Interoperability Test and Evaluation System(SITES) is an T&E support tool for both information system and weapon system. The SITES was developed by reference to the Level of Information Systems Interoperability(LISI) in US. We use the tool via MND Broad convergence Network(BCN) in order to assess information system's interoperability. Nowadays, there are many ongoing researches on expanding assessment capability into weapon systems. As part of those research topics, this paper analyze the characteristics of tactical data-link messages which is the way to exchange the information among the weapon systems, and reflect that characteristics in interoperability level assessment.

수학적 힘의 신장을 위한 수행평가 과제개발 및 적용에 관한 연구 (Research on the development and practice of performance assessmentt task for the growth of the mathematical power)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the purpose of the performance assess-ment, to develop and to apply it's task. By reviewing previous study, I conclude that the performance assessment is sug-gested to evaluate mathematical thinking and attitude in the purpose of school mathematics. To develop the task to fit the purpose of the performance assessment, I refer to the middle and high level in Van den Heuvel's classification the task "Find the number in the star" and about the assess-ment of school mathematics. Then I apply the performance assessment task developed according to this level, analyse the responses of children to "Let's make the problem" and suggest it's assessment rubric and anchor papers for each level for illustrating the process of developing a rubric. Finally, considerations to improve the performance assessment are discussed.

시스템 안전성평가를 통한 효율적 요건 도출방안 연구 (A Study on the Safety Requirements Establishment through System Safety Processes)

  • Safety requirements for aircraft and system functions include minimum performance constraints for both availability and integrity of the function. These safety requirements should be determined by conducting a safety assessment. The depths and contents of aircraft system safety assessment vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the system, how critical the system is to flight safety, what volume of experience is available on the type of system and the novelty and complexity of the technologies being used. Requirements that are defined to prevent failure conditions or to provide safety related functions should be uniquely identified and traceable through the levels of development. This will ensure visibility of the safety requirements at the software and electronic hardware design level. This paper has prepared to study on promoting the efficiency of establishing hierarchical safety requirements from aircraft level function to item level through system safety processes.

공학역량에 대한 산업체의 요구분석 (Industry Needs Assessment on Engineering Competency)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational needs of the industry for engineering education using the engineering competency scale. For needs assessment, t-test, Borich Needs Assessment and the Locus for Focus(LFF) were conducted using 400 employees' answers of industry. The results of this analysis are as follows. First, there was a significant difference between the level of importance and actual level. Second, all items were ranked using the Borich's needs assessment formula. Third, as a result of LFF model, 19 items were placed in the highest priority HH section. Fourth, 17 items with the highest priority in engineering education were selected. Finally, the highest educational needs were 6 items related with interpersonal skills, 2 items related with leadership, and 9 items related with professional attitude and ability. Based on the results of this paper, it is necessary to develop and operate an education program to reduce the gap between the industry requirement and the current level of engineering students.
