중ㆍ저준위 방사성폐기물 처분안정성 평가코드(CALM) 개발 (Development of the Safety Assessment Code (CALM) for the Disposal of Low-and Intermediate-Level Radioactive Waste)

  • 중ㆍ저준위 방사성폐기물 처분의 장기 안전성을 이론적으로 예측하기 위한 처분안전성평가 전산코드인 CALM이 개발되었다. 이 CAL.M은 처분장 재포화모델, 처분장에서의 지하 핵종 이동모델, 생태계에서의 핵종이동 및 방사선피폭선량 모델로 구성되어 있다. 개발된 평가코드의 유용성을 확인하기 위해 가상처분장에 대한 안전성 평가를 수행하였다. 그 결과 이 연구를 통해 개발된 CALM은 중ㆍ저준위 방사성폐기물 처분 안전성 평가에 유용하게 사용될 수 있음이 확인되었다.

  • 'Navigable airspace' means an airspace at and above the minimum safe flight level, including airspace or flight procedures needed for safe takeoff and landing. Airspace may be established as needed and may be abolished, and in some cases may be limited to airspace management. These are absolutely based on risk assessment. Safety is the state in which the risk of harm to persons or of property damage is reduced to, and maintained at or below, an acceptable level through a continuing process of hazard identification and risk management. 'Risk' is the assessed potential for adverse consequences resulting from a hazard and 'Risk assessment' involves consideration of both the frequency and the severity of any adverse consequence. This paper proposed 'risk assessment procedure' for the structural changes of Navigable Airspaces through literature reviews relevant to manuals on airspace management and risk management.

수행평가를 활용한 영재 판별 (An Applicaton of Performance Assessment for the Identification of Gifted and Talented Students)

  • The paper-and-pencil multiplce choise test has been widely used to identify gifted and talented student in Korea. Such test have several drawbacks; such~a s not being able to assess creative problem solving abilities and high level thinking abilities which are important characteristics of gifted students. The Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI) developed a performance assessment which challenged traditional methods of identification. The 5-day summer camp was held to select gifted students for the Korean Minjok Leadership Academy. 211 students were evaluated in the aspects of creative problem solving abilities, high level thinking abilities, task commitments, and cooperativeness with various performance tasks, such as essay tests, conversations, oral examinations, computer simulations, puzzles, experiments, group discussions, debates, research reports, and games. As a result, it was found that there were several limitations of the performance assessment in terms of low reliability, requiring high costs and many professionals, and taking long times and large spaces.   • The assessment of an urban site depends on the way it responds to multiple needs such as functionality, aesthetic and complex comfort of acoustic, thermal, lighting and air quality This study aims to investigate the assessment of various urban soundscapes in the sense of acoustic amenity by the questionnaires. As a result, acoustic amenity assessment was influenced by the non-acoustic factors such as environment assessment of visual, thermal, air quality etc.. And it was shown that the subjects tend to perceive the noise level less than 3$\sim$10dB L$_{Aeq}$ under the similar noise exposure level according to the urban landscapes.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine level of individual foreign learners' quantitative knowledge of korean vocabulary through the Foreign Learners' Korean Vocabulary Knowledge Assessment and to propose a vocabulary education plan reflecting the result. This assessment was written in focus of semantic relation to identify category, integrated and analytical knowledge of Korean verbs acquired by foreign learners and as a result, the following educational implications were made. First, the learners' knowledge about the vocabulary combinational relationship was very limited. Second, learners are not interested in vocabulary's synonymous relation and antonymous relations. Lastly, there needs to be a concern about postpositional particle-use education. The results of these kinds of research, observes the learners vocabulary acquisition process to determine Korean textbook and present vocabulary level in appropriate in terms of learners' perspective, and provide an opportunity to check if current professors' method is adequate and valid.

  • Traditionally, road projects are initiated based on an assessment of their economic benefit, after which the environmental, social and governance effects are addressed discretely for the project according to a set of predetermined alternatives. Sustainable road infrastructure planning is vital as issues like diminishing access to road construction supplies, water scarcity, Greenhouse Gas emissions, road-related fatalities and congestion pricing etc., have imposed severe economic, social, and environmental damages to the society. In the process of addressing these sustainability factors in the operational phase of the project, the dynamics of these factors are generally ignored. This paper argues that effective delivery of sustainable roads should consider such dynamics and highlights how different aspects of sustainability have the potential to affect project sustainability. The paper initially presents the different sustainability-assessment tools that have been developed to determine the sustainability performance of road projects and discuss the inability of these tools to model the interrelationships among sustainability-related factors. The paper then argues the need for a new assessment framework that facilitates modelling these dynamics at the macro-level (system level) and helping policymakers for sustainable infrastructure planning through evaluating regulatory policies.

Risk assessment of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate in the workplace

  • Objectives A hazard assessment of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), a commonly used workplace chemical, was conducted in order to protect the occupational health of workers. A literature review, consisting of both domestic and international references, examined the chemical management system, working environment, level of exposure, and possible associated risks. This information may be utilized in the future to determine appropriate exposure levels in working environments. Methods Hazard assessment was performed using chemical hazard information obtained from international agencies, such as Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development-generated Screening Information Data Set and International Program on Chemical Safety. Information was obtained from surveys conducted by the Minister of Employment and Labor ("Survey on the work environment") and by the Ministry of Environment ("Survey on the circulation amount of chemicals"). Risk was determined according to exposure in workplaces and chemical hazard. Results In 229 workplaces over the country, 831 tons of DEHP have been used as plasticizers, insecticides, and ink solvent. Calculated 50% lethal dose values ranged from 14.2 to 50 g/kg, as determined via acute toxicity testing in rodents. Chronic carcinogenicity tests revealed cases of lung and liver degeneration, shrinkage of the testes, and liver cancer. The no-observed-adverse-effect level and the lowest-observed-adverse-effect level were determined to be 28.9 g/kg and 146.6 g/kg, respectively. The working environment assessment revealed the maximum exposure level to be $0.990mg/m^3$, as compared to the threshold exposure level of $5mg/m^3$. The relative risk of chronic toxicity and reproductive toxicity were 0.264 and 0.330, respectively, while the risk of carcinogenicity was 1.3, which is higher than the accepted safety value of one. Conclusions DEHP was identified as a carcinogen, and may be dangerous even at concentrations lower than the occupational exposure limit. Therefore, we suggest management of working environments, with exposure levels below $5mg/m^3$ and all workers utilizing local exhaust ventilation and respiratory protection when handling DEHP.

  • 본 논문에서는 철도신호시스템분야에서 중요한 신뢰성과 안전성 수준을 국제규격에 부합할 수 있도록 하기 위한 접근방법을 모색하며, 국철 구간의 차상신호시스템 (ERTMS/ETCS Level 1)도입에 따라 현실적이고 접근 가능한 구체적인 활동 사항들을 프로젝트 수행과 연관하여 기술한다. 이에 따라 시스템 전반에 걸친 RAMS 및 안전성 평가를 통한 인증활동에 대한 부분을 제시하며, 국내 철도 신호시스템 적용을 위한 차상신호 시스템(ERTMS/ETCS Level 1)에 있어 차상장치(On-Board)를 중심으로 품질 및 안전 무결성(SIL) 수준 확보에 따른 안전성 확보방안의 구체적인 위험도분석 및 평가 활동을 제시 하고자 한다

An Analysis of Science Teachers’ Stages of Concern and Levels of Use on Descriptive Assessment

  • The goal of this study was to examine the current status of science teachers’ stage of concern (SOC) and level of use (LoU) on descriptive assessment and determine the relationship between SoC and LoU. To achieve this, concerns-based adoption model (CBAM) was used, and a survey was conducted on 138 science teachers. The data from this study were analyzed by frequency analysis, percentile analysis based on CBAM, χ2 test, and Spearman correlation analysis. SoC and LoU of the science teachers observed in this study are as follows. First, the science teachers’ overall SoC for the descriptive assessment was low and showed a typical pattern of the initial stage when the program was introduced. Second, LoU analysis on descriptive assessment showed that the “mechanical Use” (N=49, 35.5%) or “routine” (N=48, 34.8%) accounted for the majority. Third, the Spearman correlation between SoC and LoU on descriptive assessment was .299(p<.01). This suggests that teachers’ SoC needs to be increased in order to promote higher LoU on descriptive assessment, which requires new alternative measures.

And Determines how the operations and the control. Also, Made it into the database. and PCRA can be used in the risk assessment was developed.
