  • In this study, we apply a lesson design process using an argumentation structure to preservice earth science teachers and analyzed argumentation levels displayed in the lesson plans written by preservice teachers in the process. As a result of the study, the preservice teachers designed a logically structured lesson by reflecting more argumentation components in the final lesson plan than the first one. In addition, in the case of lesson topics in which all argumentation elements were not explicitly presented in textbooks or curriculum, preservice teachers could not clearly reflect some argumentation components in the lesson plan. The conclusions and implications based on the results are as follows: First, it is necessary to use the argumentation structure as a tool to design logical science lessons, considering that argumentation levels of lesson plans written by preservice science teachers were improved by using argumentation structures in instructional design. Next, it is necessary to cultivate the preservice science teacher's ability to reconstruct the curriculum for science lesson design using the argumentation structure since argumentation levels of lesson plans written by preservice science teachers were limited to the argumentation components presented in the textbook and curriculum. Additionally, it is necessary to develop and apply a preservice teacher education program that uses the argumentation structure in the context of actual teaching activities so that preservice science teachers can not only understand argumentation but also improve their class expertise.

  • The History of Mathematics (HOM) was integrated in teaching the Cartesian Coordinate Plane (CCP) to Grade Seven learners of Moonwalk National High School using Lesson Study. After the lesson was taught, there were three valuable issues emerged: (1) HOM is a Springboard and/or a Medium of Motivation in Teaching CCP; (2) The History of CCP Opened a Wider Perspective about Its Real-life Application in the Modern World (3) Integration of History Developed a Sense of Purpose and an Appreciation of Mathematics Among Learners. Feedbacks solicited from the learners showed that they have understanding of the importance of studying Mathematics after they learned the life and contributions of Rene Descartes to Mathematics. Hence, integration of history plays a vital role in developing positive attitudes among learners towards Math.

  • This study was to develop and to suggest a lesson plan for the area of‘Human Development and Family Relationship’in home economics for junior high school, based on Thelen’s Group Investigation Model’. Group investigation model by Thelen was developed from the theory that the education with special purpose such as societic knowledge is a method to lesson one’s conflict. This study further developed from three main concepts: inquiry, knowledge and activities of learning groups. This model can be used for any age and any subjects in order to solve the arised problems, rather than to accept pre-organized and pre-decided informations. This study is organized around activities for seeking and practicing the rages of action to create dispersal home. First, one unit ‘Understanding of Family’was chosen that concerns and suitable for group investigation model. Second, From the chosen chapter and problem were analyzed organized. Third, the chosen problem were re-analyzed, then a model lesson for group investigation was proposed.

  • In this paper, the self-evaluation, the peer-evaluation and the instructor evaluation on virtual mathematics lesson have been performed. The method of checking on the given evaluation item have been used. In result, a lot of difference was shown between self-evaluation, peer-evaluation and the instructor-evaluation toward virtual mathematics lesson. Pre-service teachers were shown as lacking awareness on instructional Virtual Mathematics Lesson' evaluation. Therefore it seems that we must have the opportunity to reflect on the teaching method through a great deal of experience on self-evaluation and peer-evaluation of virtual lessons.

  • This study aimed to analyze the degree of concern and satisfaction of elementary students about school science lesson. For this study, the survey was carried out on 660 primary school students in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The results of this study are as follows; The degree of concern and satisfaction of primary school students about school science lesson was higher than usual label. And the degree of satisfaction was higher than the degree of concern. This means that school science lessons are sufficient to the expectations of the students and are desirable. The correlation of the degree of concern about school science lesson and the degree of satisfaction about school science lessons was an affirmative interrelation. This means that the more the degree of concern about school science lesson is higher, the more the degree of satisfaction about school science lesson is higher. The students who were younger, had higher interest in science showed a higher degree of concern and satisfaction about school science lessons, but there were no differences when it came to sex. This means that students are provided the experience in which they are able to do the various scientific activities and they are able to study science joyfully. Consequently, teachers should teach students well by grasping the degree of concern and satisfaction of primary school students about school science lessons.

  • In the society where the paradigm of knowledge is rapidly changing and developing, convergence emphasizing the connection between knowledge and technology in various fields is significant. In order to cultivate these creative-convergent talents, STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) is being considered important to make them equipped with creative thinking ability and core competence required in the future society and help them devise new ideas escaping from the branches of study. This study is about convergence instructional design of computer with marketing subject, which aims to foster talent. The results of this study are as follows. First, the structured process of convergence lessons. Second, the convergence lesson was based on a cyclic process with steps : selection of the subject concerned, selection of a topic, designing the lesson, mapping out the lesson plan and developing problems, having a final discussion on the whole lesson, performing the lesson and evaluating the lesson. Third, the development of the problems about the introduction of computer engineering and Internet marketing subject for convergence lessons. To make an effect of this model, studies applying this instructional design to many lectures should be implemented.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore what a science lesson using a digital textbook looked like and what kinds of implications could be drawn from the lesson. The study qualitatively described a 4th grade science lesson in the unit of Earth and Moon, analyzed the structure of the lesson, and critically interpreted the meaning of it. It was revealed that the introduction of a digital science textbook did not bring about changes in the already patternized structure of elementary science instruction as well as in the manner of classroom interaction. The result was followed by discussion concerning the ways the use of a digital textbook could change elementary science instruction and enable new types of classroom interaction. It was suggested that negotiations should be reached about the nature of digital science textbooks and their developments and that the teacher's own pedagogical roles in the science classroom should be improved.

  • Students' interest and motivation of a lesson can be deeply influenced by how their teacher starts his or her lesson. So the introduction part of math classes should be very carefully and thoughtfully designed. The goal of this study is to serve the foundation for developing the practical types of introduction part of math classes and to draw the implications for planning and teaching math classes. For these, 19 lesson plans titled by 'volume of cylinders' composed by elementary teachers and 2 lesson videos on the internet are analyzed. Finally, seven types of introduction parts of math class are probed and several implications are suggested.

The unit-lesson hour of curriculum according to specialist objective school system of fisheries and marine highschool was revised. professional subject 98 unit-lesson hour(52%), normality subject 90 unit-lesson hour(48%), and educational activity of professional subject 10unit-lesson hour, total training activity 10 unit-lesson hour. And the special objective school system need to revise curriculum of 208 total unit-lesson hour.

  • In this study, I developed an activity oriented lesson to support the understanding of probabilistic and quantitative estimating population ratios according to the standard statistical principles and discussed its implications in didactical respects. The developed activity lesson, as an efficient physical simulation activity by sampling with replacement, simulates unknown populations and real problem situations through completely closed 'Closed Box' in which we can not see nor take out the inside balls, and provides teaching and learning devices which highlight the representativeness of sample ratios and the sampling variability. I applied this activity lesson to the gifted students who did not learn estimating population ratios and collected the research data such as the activity sheets and recording and transcribing data of students' presenting, and analyzed them by Qualitative Content Analysis. As a result of an application, this activity lesson was effective in recognizing and reflecting on the representativeness of sample ratios and recognizing the random sampling variability. On the other hand, in order to show the sampling variability clearer, I discussed appropriately increasing the total number of the inside balls put in 'Closed Box' and the active involvement of the teachers to make students pay attention to controlling possible selection bias in sampling processes.
