  • This study was conducted to investigate pollutant loading, were quality and plant distribution of 8 streams which are tributaries of the Youngsan River. The nitrate reductase activity (NRA) and nutrient removall capacity of the most frequently occurring aquatic plants on streamside were also determined. As a result, the pollutant loading appeared to be correlated with the area of watershed, while the water quality was related to the land use pattern of each steam. The aquatic plants were distributed differently among the streams; Hydrilla verticillata - Potamogeton crispus, Numphoides peltata - Hydrocharis dubia and Polygonum thunbergii - Phragmites japonica were dominant at the Orye Chon, Jungan Chon, Whangryong River and Jiseok Chon, while potamogeton crispus - Lemma paucicostata, Zizania latifolia - Phragmites communis were dominant at the Youngam Chon and Munpyeong Chon. Persicaria hydropiper and Echinochloa crus-galli var. oryzicola were dominant at Kwangju Chon which was polluted with domestic wastewater. >From the measurement of leaf NRA for dominant species, the highest value of NRA was shown by the Polygonum thunbergii, followed by Oenanthe javanica > Phragmites communis > Zizania latifolia > Lemma paucicostata. The highest nitrogen and phosphorus removal capacity was found in Phragmites communis.

  • In this paper, we propose a vocabulary coverage improvement method for embedded continuous speech recognition (CSR) using knowledgebase. A vocabulary in CSR is normally derived from a word frequency list. Therefore, the vocabulary coverage is dependent on a corpus. In the previous research, we presented an improved way of vocabulary generation using part-of-speech (POS) tagged corpus. We analyzed all words paired with 101 among 152 POS tags and decided on a set of words which have to be included in vocabularies of any size. However, for the other 51 POS tags (e.g. nouns, verbs), the vocabulary inclusion of words paired with such POS tags are still based on word frequency counted on a corpus. In this paper, we propose a corpus independent word inclusion method for noun-, verb-, and named entity(NE)-related POS tags using knowledgebase. For noun-related POS tags, we generate synonym groups and analyze their relative importance using Google search. Then, we categorize verbs by lemma and analyze relative importance of each lemma from a pre-analyzed statistic for verbs. We determine the inclusion order of NEs through Google search. The proposed method shows better coverage for the test short message service (SMS) text corpus.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of $H_{\infty}$ filtering for continuous-time singular systems with multiple state-delays. The aim of designed filter is to guarantee regularity, impulse-free, asymptotic stability and $H_{\infty}$ norm bound of filtering error singular system. By establishing a finite sum inequality based on quadratic terms, a new delay-dependent BRL (bounded real lemma) for singular systems with multiple state-delays is derived. Based on the result, the existence condition of $H_{\infty}$ filter and filter design method are proposed in terms of LMI (linear matrix inequality). Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the validity of the design methods.

  • In this paper, we present a reduced-order parameter-dependent robust $H_{\infty}$ filter design method for discrete-time singular systems with polytopic uncertainties. A BRL(bounded real lemma) for parameter-dependent singular systems is derived from a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function. On the basis of the obtained BRL, low order robust $H_{\infty}$ filter design method is presented by polytopic approach, new reduced-order method, and LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrated the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • The hermitian structures on complex manifolds have been studied by several mathematicians ([1], [2], and [3]), and the Kähler structure on hermitian manifolds have been so much too ([6], [12], and [15]). There has been some gradual progress in studying the invariant forms on Grassmann manifolds ([17]). The purpose of this dissertation is to prove the Theorem 3.4 and the Theorem 4.7, with relation to the nature of complex Grassmann manifolds. In $\S$ 2. in order to prove the Theorem 4.7, which will be explicated further in $\S$ 4, the concepts of the hermitian structure, connection and curvature have been defined. and the characteristic nature about these were proved. (Proposition 2.3, 2.4, 2.9, 2.11, and 2.12) Two characteristics were proved in $\S$ 3. They are almost not proved before: particularly. we proved the Theorem 3.3 : $G_{k}(C^{n+k})=\frac{GL(n+k,C)}{GL(k,n,C)}=\frac{U(n+k)}{U(k){\times}U(n)}$ In $\S$ 4. we explained and proved the Theorem 4. 7 : i) Complex Grassmann manifolds are Kahlerian. ii) This Kähler form is $\pi$-fold of curvature form in hyperplane section bundle. Prior to this proof. some propositions and lemmas were proved at the same time. (Proposition 4.2, Lemma 4.3, Corollary 4.4 and Lemma 4.5).

  • Let $\mathscr{B}^{{\eta},{\mu}}_{p,n}\;({\alpha});\;({\eta},{\mu}{\in}{\mathbb{R}},\;n,\;p{\in}{\mathbb{N}})$ denote all functions f class in the unit disk ${\mathbb{U}}$ as $f(z)=z^p+\sum_{k=n+p}^{\infty}a_kz^k$ which satisfy: $$\|\[{\frac{f^{\prime}(z)}{pz^{p-1}}}\]^{\eta}\;\[\frac{z^p}{f(z)}\]^{\mu}-1\| <1-{\frac{\alpha}{p}};\;(z{\in}{\mathbb{U}},\;0{\leq}{\alpha}<p)$$. And $\mathscr{M}^{{\eta},{\mu}}_{p,n}\;({\alpha})$ indicates all meromorphic functions h in the punctured unit disk $\mathbb{U}^*$ as $h(z)=z^{-p}+\sum_{k=n-p}^{\infty}b_kz^k$ which satisfy: $$\|\[{\frac{h^{\prime}(z)}{-pz^{-p-1}}}\]^{\eta}\;\[\frac{1}{z^ph(z)}\]^{\mu}-1\|<1-{\frac{\alpha}{p}};\;(z{\in}{\mathbb{U}},\;0{\leq}{\alpha}<p)$$. In this paper several sufficient conditions for some classes of functions are investigated. The authors apply Jack's Lemma, to obtain this conditions. Furthermore, sufficient conditions for strongly starlike and convex p-valent functions of order ${\gamma}$ and type ${\beta}$, are also considered.

  • Shortfall risk is considered by taking some exposed risks because the superhedging price is too expensive to be used in practice. Minimizing shortfall risk can be reduced to the problem of finding a randomized test ${\psi}$ in the static problem. The optimization problem can be solved via the classical Neyman-Pearson theory, and can be also explained in terms of hypothesis testing. We introduce the classical Neyman-Pearson lemma expressed in terms of mathematics and see how it is applied to shortfall risk in finance.

  • In this paper, we study the process of McShane delta integrals on time scales and discuss the relation between McShane delta integral and Henstock delta integral. We also prove the mono- tone convergence theorem, Fatou's Lemma and the dominated con- vergence theorems for the McShane delta integral.

  • We get a result that shows the existence of infinitely many solutions for a class of the elliptic systems involving subcritical Sobolev exponents nonlinear terms with even functionals on the bounded domain with smooth boundary. We get this result by variational method and critical point theory induced from invariant subspaces and invariant functional.
