Objectives : This study was performed to review the principal of Bideungpalbub and to investigate the usefulness of it. Methods : The authors reviewed several literatures about Younggupalbub and investigated the clinical usefulness as well found some problems with it. Results and Conclusions : Bideungpalbub is a time related-acupuncture treatment and has a possibility to make some problems for the patients and oriental medical doctors.

Multiple Myeloma is malignant tumor that malignant proliferous plasma cell to originate from bone marrow invades bone multiply. Objectives : Therapy for Multiple Myeloma includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy and self-stem cell transplantation, but it has no effect for a majority of Multiple Myeloma patients. So we diagnosed it as Wei symptom, oliguria, or dysuria(遺尿) in Oriental medicine, and treated it using the Oriental medical system. Methods : The patient was treated using acupuncture, electroacupuncture, herbal acupuncture treatment, moxibustion, physical treatment and western medicine. We observed 12 kinds of symptoms in the patient when admitted to the hospital. Results : 1. Paraplegia, urination desire, voluntary urination, and other symptoms improved except for a period of complication. 2. Defecation desire, sensory disturbance of the body and lower extremities, self-made changes, maintenance of body posture, and other symptoms improved during admitting days. 3. Voluntary defecation, pains of the neck and lower extremities, and other symptoms had irregular changes during admitting days. Conclusions : This study demonstrates the necessity of having more clinical study about Mutiple Myeloma.

Objectives : Although Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul is important for acupuncture treatment in emergency and has been widely used, but there is few study about that, except some comments in ancient literatures. So in this study, the author reviewed the Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul, investigating the composition and the function, and found the meaning with analysis based on meridian. Methods : 1. The author reviewed several ancient literatures related with the Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul. 2. The author investigated the composition of Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul, and the location, acupuncture treatment, specificity, disease of each acupoint. 3. Following the investigation, the author found the meaning, the mechanism of function, and the clinical usefulness, based on analysis with meridian. Results : 1. Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul had been referred in "Chim Gu Chwei Young" for the first time. 2. Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul is composed of 9 acupoints, i.e. 1 acupoint of Governor Vessel, 1 acupoint of Conception Vessel, 2 acupoints of Yang Myoung meridian, 1 acupoint of So Yang meridian, 1 acupoint of Tae Eum meridian, 2 acupoints of So Eum meridian, 1 acupoint of Gwel Eum meridian. 3. It has not been controversial since the comment of "Chim Gu Chwei Young", and it became the origin. Conclusions : 1. Hwe Yang Gu Chim Hyul can be used for an emergency resulted from chronic disease based on heart failure and accumulation of food.

Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate the effect of Jung-an acupuncture on Bell's palsy(peripheral facial paralysis) patients. Methods : We investigated 24 cases of patients with peripheral facial paralysis. The patients were divided into two groups. Both Group A, B were treated with general acupuncture and Group A was added to treatment with Jung-an acupuncture. We evaluated the treatment effect of each group three times by using Yanagihara's unweighted grading system. Results : As a result of evaluation by using Yanagihara score, they were not significant scores between two groups after treatment. Conclusions : Jung-an acupuncture and general Acupuncture has significant effect on acute(before 4 weeeks at onset) Bell's palsy. But there is no statistical significance in Jung-an acupuncture on acute phase(within 4 weeks of onset).
