  • Nowadays the preschool children spend much of the day playing indoors. Therefore, it needs the indoor environment that helps a variety of fun activities and physical development, and it requires the space configuration and playable furniture considering the emotional development for mental health. However, the furniture for fast growing preschoolers has not various types because the domestic furniture market for children is mostly baby beds and the furniture for the education of children. Therefore, this study presents the concepts and types of the playable furniture reflecting emotional design for preschool children's healthy emotion and suggests the most appropriate type of playable furniture considering play behavior by age. In this study, we investigated the physical, cognitive, social, emotional and linguistic development characteristics and play behavior of preschoolers, and derived the right type of playground equipment and furniture, and examined the types of playable furniture to help the emotional development. We derived the items to be checked for developing the playable furniture by age for emotional development, and classified preschoolers' playable furniture into the use of learning, relaxation and storage, and suggested its basic type focusing on the cases of various playable furniture developed at home and abroad. As a result, the playable furniture was divided into three types. The first is the self-play type making possible self amusement, the second is module built-up-type that consists of furniture and modules or units and creates various patterns and can be modified through the self-assembly and disassembly, and the third is IT game type grafting IT skills and a variety of electronic games to furniture. We sorted these types into three classes (1-3 years old, 4-5, 6-7) according to age and presented the type of play for each age, the play element and representative image that can be introduced to this furniture. In this study, we provided the basic design types of age-specific emotional playable furniture by analyzing these results.

  • The purpose of this paper was to propose a model that recognizes potential users' emotional response toward design by classifying Electroencephalography(EEG). Studies in neuroscience and psychology have made an effort to recognize subjects' emotional response by analyzing EEG data. And this approach has been adopted in design since it is critical to monitor users' subjective response in the preface of design. Moreover, the building design process cannot be reversed after construction, recognizing clients' affection toward design alternatives plays important role. An experiment was conducted to record subjects' EEG data while they view their most/least liked images of small-house designs selected by them among the eight given images. After the recording, a subjective questionnaire, PANAS, was distributed to the subjects in order to describe their own affection score in quantitative way. Google TensorFlow was used to build and train the model. Dataset for model training and testing consist of feature columns for recorded EEG data and labels for the questionnaire results. After training and testing, the measured accuracy of the model was 0.975 which was higher than the other machine learning based classification methods. The proposed model may suggest one quantitative way of evaluating design alternatives. In addition, this method may support designer while designing the facilities for people like disabled or children who are not able to express their own feelings toward alternatives.

  • This paper proposes a model to detect depression-related emotions in a user's speech using wellness dialogue scripts provided by AI Hub, topic-specific daily conversation datasets, and chatbot datasets published on Github. There are 18 emotions, including depression and lethargy, in depression-related emotions, and emotion classification tasks are performed using KoBERT and KOELECTRA models that show high performance in language models. For model-specific performance comparisons, we build diverse datasets and compare classification results while adjusting batch sizes and learning rates for models that perform well. Furthermore, a person performs a multi-classification task by selecting all labels whose output values are higher than a specific threshold as the correct answer, in order to reflect feeling multiple emotions at the same time. The model with the best performance derived through this process is called the Depression model, and the model is then used to classify depression-related emotions for user utterances.

  • In this paper, we propose a hand gesture recognition method by modifying the textNAS used for text classification so that it can be applied to multivariate time series data. It can be applied to various fields such as behavior recognition, emotion recognition, and hand gesture recognition through multivariate time series data classification. In addition, it automatically finds a deep learning model suitable for classification through training, thereby reducing the burden on users and obtaining high-performance class classification accuracy. By applying the proposed method to the DHG-14/28 and Shrec'17 datasets, which are hand gesture recognition datasets, it was possible to obtain higher class classification accuracy than the existing models. The classification accuracy was 98.72% and 98.16% for DHG-14/28, and 97.82% and 98.39% for Shrec'17 14 class/28 class.

  • A meatadata has become an essential element in order to recommend video content to users. However, it is passively generated by video content providers. In the paper, a method for automatically generating metadata was studied in the existing manual metadata input method. In addition to the method of extracting emotion tags in the previous study, a study was conducted on a method for automatically generating metadata for genre and country of production through movie audio. The genre was extracted from the audio spectrogram using the ResNet34 artificial neural network model, a transfer learning model, and the language of the speaker in the movie was detected through speech recognition. Through this, it was possible to confirm the possibility of automatically generating metadata through artificial intelligence.

  • In this paper, we present the results of a study of lessons learned from the life of Caleb (Cal), a significant character in John Steinbeck's "East of Eden." His life serves as a powerful example of the process of self-discovery, overcoming conflicts with self, others, and society. He emphasizes the importance of managing and understanding your emotions, learning to acknowledge and express them throughout your journey. He makes moral judgments while confronting desires and conflicts, and transparently demonstrates the importance of self-determination based on ethical decisions, while his honest expression and acceptance of his own emotions emphasizes the core value of emotion management and understanding. Additionally, his story emphasizes the clear importance of understanding and compromise in human relationships. We present a thorough exploration of these topics and consider how the lessons from Caleb's story can be applied to our everyday lives. As a result of the analysis in this paper, we expect to gain insight into how these lessons can be applied and put into practice.

  • This study is a qualitative study on the case of teaching mathematics between parents and children. 12 lesson units were applied to the 5th grade elementary school child for the first semester, 2019. The purpose of this study was to identify conceptual understanding in the area, the types of problems that child felt difficult during the learning and parents' advantages and difficulties in this setting. For this study, video recording and voice recording were collected for each lesson class. The concept of the area was recognized correctly, the awareness of reconstruction became clear, and the concept of partitioning, unit iteration and structuring an array was more clearly rebuilt. He showed difficulty in conversion between units of the area, in displaying height of the shape whose height is displayed outside and drawing type of figure with same area after the value of the area was offered. In the learning situation of parents and children, parents who are researchers have the advantage of being able to customize up to their children and being free from time and cost constraints. There were difficulties in controlling negative emotion toward the child, determining the level of the children, distribution the class time and deciding the degree of intervention. Furthermore, research on parenting and child-to-parent teaching in mathematics is recommended.
