  • The adhesive-tape of a liquid leak film sensor including the alarm system is developed. The sensing film is composed of three layers such as base film layer, conductive line layer, and protection film layer. The thickness of film is 300~500 um, the width is 3.55 cm, and the unit length is 200 m. On the conductive line layer, three conducting lines and one resistive line are formulated by the electronic printing method with a conducting ink of silver-nano size. When a liquid leaks for the electricity to be conducted between the conductive line and the resistive line, the position of leakage is monitored by measuring the voltage varied according to the change of resistance between two lines. The error range of sensing position of 200 m film sensor is ${\pm}1m$.

  • This study examined the mounting status of cigar lighter receptacles for vehicles and analyzed the tracking phenomenon that occurs when foreign material entered a cigar lighter receptacle to obtain data for the analysis of accident investigation. Regardless of the vehicle's output, cigar lighter receptacles are mounted in a vehicle horizontally, vertically, or at tilting or inclined angle. The tilting type cigar lighter receptacle is much easier to use but current leakage resulting from foreign materials (coffee, beverages, water, etc.) falling into the cigar lighter receptacle may cause a fire to start. This study used a vehicle battery (DC 12V) as a power supply for the tracking test and configured its circuit in the same way as that of an electrical device in a vehicle. The tracking phenomenon that occurred in the standby mode of the vehicle exhibited a fine flame and an irregular occurrence of smoke. While this tracking phenomenon was occurring, the leakage current and the reaching distance of the flame were measured to be approximately 930mA and $20{\sim}50cm$, respectively. It is thought that the resultant flame may ignite toluene, dust, cigarettes, etc. It was observed that as the tracking progressed, the internal metal socket melted and a hole was created, the surface of which was also severely carbonized. In addition, the electrical resistance of the carbonized conductive path was measured to be approximately $30{\Omega}$. It is thought that this much resistance may cause local heating when leakage current flows and could ignite any nearby flammable material.

  • To prevent accidents due to the cavities and loosened layers formed due to water leakage from the deteriorated buried pipes, evaluation of the changes in water contents around the buried pipes is required. As a method to evaluate the water contents of the soils, time domain reflectometry (TDR) system can be adopted. However, slender electrodes used in standard TDR probe may be damaged when buried in the ground. Thus, in this study, buried type TDR module was developed for the evaluation of the water contents with maintaining required shape of the electrodes in the ground. The TDR module is composed of three electrodes connected to the core conductor and outer conductor and a casing to prevent deformation and maintain alignment of the electrodes in the ground. For the verification of TDR waveforms measured using the TDR module, comparative analysis was conducted with the TDR waveforms measured using the standard TDR probe, and the relationship between the volumetric water content of the soils and the travel time of the guided electromagnetic wave was constructed. In addition, a model test was conducted to test the applicability of the buried type TDR module, and the experimental result shows that the TDR module clearly evaluates the changes in volumetric water contents due to the leakage from the modeled buried pipe. Therefore, the buried type TDR module may be effectively used for the health monitoring of the buried pipe and the evaluation of the water contents around the pipes buried in the urban pavements.

  • For decrease the harmonic current components of the power source, a first method is insert the choke coil that used the choke input type rectifier, the booster chopper circuit and buck chopper circuit. And the several method are studying like as the PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) converter and the active filter type which is used the high frequency switching and the sinusoidal wave formed input current. In this type, there are many problem as a low efficiency, increased the noise, the high leakage current and cost up by the high frequency switching. For improve this problems, the partial resonan method is used on the booster inducter and lossles snubber condenser. This method decreased the distortion factor has lower harmonic components than the hard switching and there is no switching loss by the ZCS(Zero Current Switching) at switch turn-on and the ZVS(Zero Voltage Swithcing) at switch turn-off

  • Hydrogen is emerging as clean fuel and important industrial raw materials. The hydrogen gas is not sensed by the human olfactory system, But the combustion characteristics of hydrogen is that the ignition is very easy, the propagation speed of the flame is very fast and explosion limits is a wide range of 4 %~75 %. Therefore it is extremely in danger, and the need for its leakage detection technologies is especially important in places such as a production, transportation, storage and usage. The hydrogen sensors are classified with ceramic type, semiconductor type, optical type, electrochemical type and so on. Hydrogen sensors and their technologies are reviewed in detail for materials, fabrication process, sensing characteristics, good point and faults, and production and utilization of sensors be discussed.

  • We experimentally investigated discharge phenomena inside vacuum interrupter at 1 to 20 Torr to simulate the vacuum leakage. We used glass type of vacuum interrupter where the internal pressure and the type of gasses can be varied according to requirement. The experiment is conducted under ac applied voltage and the experimental circuit is constructed to simulate the actual circuit used in cubical type insulated switchgear. We used two types of gases such as air and SF6. The use of glass type vacuum interrupter allowed us to measure discharges occurring in vacuum interrupter optically. We measured and discussed the discharge occurring in both gases with a current transformer and ICCD camera. We also revealed that electromagnetic wave spectra emitted by the discharge have same frequency range for both gasses.

  • Nowadays heat exchangers that have been applied for freon refrigerating systems, a shell and tube type condenser and a flooded evaporator have been used, but because of their large size, large space for installation and amount of refrigerants are needed. In this study, we will find the most suitable operating condition of shell and disk type optimum heat exchanger which can minimize the amount of a refrigerant and allow its minimum leakage. The condensing pressure of refrigeration system is increased from 15.0bar to 16.0bar and degree of superheat is increased from 0 to $10^{\circ}C$ at each condensing pressure. As a result of study, It revealed that shell and disk type heat exchanger was applicable to the freon refrigeration system

  • The piping system of a power plant suffers not only thermal expansion according to the temperature variation, but also many kinds of load: steady state vibrations due to the equipment operation or fluid flow, and transient vibrations due to the earthquake or explosion, etc. The snubbers are usually installed on the piping system to allow thermal expansion, and to reduce dynamic responses. Most snubbers are kinds of hydraulic and mechanical type, which can be degraded by leakage and abrasion, and required much cost for maintenance and replacement. Recently the wire rope type snubbers are developed and applied to the power plant, and proved as effective to reduce piping system vibration. Wire rope type snubber uses the bending rigidity and energy dissipation properties of ropes. This paper presents the procedure of design, and the method to apply hysteresis curve to the dynamic response analysis. Experiments were also conducted to confirm design results.

  • This paper deals with the coupled electromagnetic-mechanical field analysis for short-circuit electromagnetic force of the dry-type transformer. The short-circuit currents are calculated using external circuit in accordance with short-circuit test equipment. According to short-circuit current, the generated magnetic leakage flux density in dry-type transformer model is calculated by finite element method. The radially-directed electromagnetic forces in windings are calculated using electromagnetic field analysis and then axially-directed electromagnetic forces in windings are calculated using electromagnetic-mechanical field analysis. The calculated axially-directed electromagnetic forces in high voltage winding are compared to those of measured ones and showed good agreement with experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of several intracoronal base materials to prevent cervical leakage of a bleaching agent into the dentinal tubules and along the root canal. In this study, thirty-two anterior teeth were used. After lingual access was prepared in each tooth, tooth was instrumented with a step-back technique to a Nos. 40-50 using K-type files. All teeth were obturated with a lateral condensation technique. Excess gutta percha was removed with a warm instrument to the facial level of the CEJ. Teeth were divided into four groups : Teeth in control group were not filled with base material. Teeth in groups 1, 2, and 3 had 2mm of gutta percha removed with a warm instrument, then Dycal, Fuki II LC and Z-100 were filled with palstic instruments on the top of the gutta percha respectively. All teeth were bleached for 7 days, fresh bleach was added for another 7 days, then a 10 % methylene blue dye was placed inside the access preparation. They were stored at $37^{\circ}C$ and $100^{\circ}C$ humidity for 5 days. Each tooth was sectioned perpendicular to the long axis using a diamond disk. Initial cuts were made at the most coronal level of facial and lingual CEJ's, then another cuts continued appically in the levels of 0.5mm, 1.5mm, and 2.0mm respectively. The amount of dye leakage through the dentinal tubules was determined at each cut section. In addition, when the cut specimen was determined to be last penetration of any dye, this level was recorded as depth of apical leakage from the coronal terminus of the gutta percha, Dycal, Fuji II LC and Z-100. The acquired data were analyzed by Tukey's Multiple Range Test adn Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel Test to see if there was any statistically significant difference in dye penetration and linear apical leakage among the groups. The results were as follows : 1. Control group at levels of CEJ and 0.5mm, group 3 at level of 1.5mm, and group 2 AND 3 at level of 2.0mm showed the least dye penetration through the facial or lingual dentinal tubules, but there were no significant difference among three groups. 2. Group 2 at levels of CEJ and 0.5mm, group 3 at level of 1.5mm, and group 2 and 3 at level of 2.0mm showed the least dye penetration through the proximal dentinal tubules, but there were no significant difference among control group, group 2, and group 3. 3. Group 1 showed the greatest dye penetration through the facial or lingual and proximal dentinal tubules at all levels, and there were significant difference with other three groups. 4. Control group and group 1 showed 2mm apical dye leakage at facial or lingual and proximal aspects, group 2 showed 1.5mm, and group 3 showed 0.5mm.
