  • A Zero-Voltage-Switching(ZVS) Three-Level Converter realizes ZVS for the switches with the use of the leakage inductance(or external resonant inductance) and the output capacitors of the switches, however; the rectifier diodes suffer from recovery which results in oscillation and voltage spike. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a novel ZVS Three-Level converter, which introduces two clamping diodes to the basic Three-Level converter to eliminate the oscillation and clamp the rectified voltage to the reflected input voltage, the proposed ZVS Three-Level converter can be simplified by removing the two freewheeling diodes.

  • This paper presents the interleaved active-clamping ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) forward converter, which is mainly composed of two active-clamping forward converters. Only two switches are required, and each one is the auxiliary switch for the other. The circuit complexity and cost are thus reduced. The leakage inductance of the transformer or an additional resonant inductance is employed to achieve ZVS during the dead times. The duty cycles are not limited to be equal and within 50%. The complementary switching and the resulted interleaved output inductor currents diminish the current ripple in output capacitors. Accordingly, the smaller output chokes and capacitors lower the converter volume and increase the power density. Detailed analysis and design of this new interleaved active-clamping forward converter are described.

  • 최근 소형, 경량화 및 저가격화를 위해 절연형 고주파링크 승압 DC/DC 컨버터가 PCS (Power Conditioning System)에 많이 적용되고 있다. 하지만, 기존 전압형 컨버터 또는 전류형 컨버터가 적용된 고주파 링크 승압컨버터는 순환전류에 따른 도통손실과 변압기 누설인덕턴스에 따른 서지전압에 의해 여러 문제점을 내포하고 있다. 이들 문제들을 개선하기위해 새로운 2차측 LLC 직렬공진컨버터를 제안했고, 이에 대한 이론적 해석과 동작파형 및 시뮬레이션을 통해 800W급 시제품을 제작하여 실험결과에 대해 서술하였다.

  • This paper proposes the single stage boost input type resonant AC-DC converter. Proposed converter uses the resonance between leakage inductance of the transformer and resonance capacitance. And it obtains high power factor more than 98$\%$ through continuous current mode pulse width modulation. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, operation principle In the steady state is analyzed and experimental results are presented.

  • his study deals with a power conversion unit of an anti-start air conditioner compressor system for the commercial vehicle. In case of converter, to reduce the switching losses and current stresses of the device, applies LLC resonant topology. Transformer leakage inductance in the full-bridge converter is used for making the resonance with the capacitor of the voltage-doubler. Through this method we can increase power and decrease volume of system. Both circuit analysis and design guideline are described. So in this paper, power conversion unit is designed. 2.5kW anti-start air conditioner compressor system was implemented, and system operation and stability was verified through experiment.

Current Source ZCS PFM DC-DC Converter for Magnetron Power Supply

  • This paper presents the design of zero current switching ZCS pulse frequency modulation type DC-DC converter for magnetron power supply. A magnetron serving as the microwave source in a microwave oven is driven by a switch mode power supply (SMPS). SMPSs have the advantages of improved efficiency, reduced size and weight, regulation and the ability to operate directly from the converter DC bus. The demands of the load system and the design of the power supply required to produce constant power at 4[kV]. A magnetron power supply requires the ability to limit the load current under short circuit conditions. The current source series resonant converter is a circuit configuration which can achieve this. The main features of the proposed converter are an inherent protection against a short circuit at the output, a high voltage gain and zero current switching over a large range of output power. These characteristics make it a viable choice for the implementation of a high voltage magnetron power supply.

  • Of all the proposed resonant techniques, the well-known phase-shifted full bridge converter remains one of the most attractive because it offers an easy way of achieving ZVS with a minimum of extra components added, which is essential for the high power applications. This paper describes the design of a digital controller for a Phase Shifted Full-bridge PWM Converter. The small-signal model is derived incorporating the effects of phase-shift control and the utilization of the transformer leakage inductance and power FET junction capacitances to achieve the zero-voltage resonant switching. Based on the derived small-signal model, the digital controller is designed in the discrete domain. The performance of designed controller is verified through the simulation.

Analysis and Implementation of a DC-DC Converter with an Active Snubber

  • This paper presents a soft switching converter to achieve the functions of zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on for the power switches and dc voltage step-up. Two circuit modules are connected in parallel in order to achieve load current sharing and to reduce the size of the transformer core. An active snubber is connected between two transformers in order to absorb the energy stored in the leakage and magnetizing inductances and to limit the voltage stresses across the switches. During the commutation stage of the two complementary switches, the output capacitance of the two switches and the leakage inductance of the transformers are resonant. Thus, the power switches can be turned on under ZVS. No output filter inductor is used in the proposed converter and the voltage stresses of the output diodes is clamped to the output voltage. The circuit configuration, the operation principles and the design considerations are presented. Finally, laboratory experiments with a 340W prototype, verifying the effectiveness of the proposed converter, are described.

압전 변압기를 이용한 인버터식 네온관용 변압기에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Inverter Type Neon Power Supply Using a Piezoelectric Transformer)

  • 본 연구에서는 네온 변압기를 세라믹 계열의 압전 변압기를 이용한 인버터식 네온관용 변압기를 제안하였다 인버터식 네온관용 압전 변압기의 주요 구성은 정류부, 발진부, 공진형 하프브릿지 인버터회로부 및 압전 변압기부로 구성 제작하였다. 네온관용 변압기는 지금까지 개발된 압전 변압기 용량 보다 대부분 큰 용량을 필요로 하고 있기 때문에 압전 변압기의 용량 증가를 위해 병렬 구동하였다 이때 병렬로 연결된 단층형 압전 변압기간 내부 임피던스 값의 불일치로 발생하는 불평형 전류를 최소화 하기 위하여 압전 변압기별로 LC 필터값을 분석 부착하여 전압의 왜곡율을 최소화 하여 안정된 정현파 출력을 구현하였다. 그리고 이를 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 실험과 실제 네온관 부착 실험을 통하여 전력 밀도와 절연 레벨이 높고, 누설 자속이 없는 소형, 경량화된, 압전 변압기를 적용한 인버터식 네온관용 변압기가 기존의 자기식 네온관용 변압기 보다 우수함을 비교 입증하였다.

도전손실 저감을 위한 새로운 소프트 스위칭 FB DC-DC 컨버터 (Novel soft switching FB DC-DC converter for reducing conduction losses)

  • The conventional high frequency phase-shifted full bridge DC-DC converter has a disadavantage that a circulating current flows through transformer and switching devices during the freewheeling interval Due to this circulating current, RMS current stress, conduction losses of transformer and switching devices are increased. To alleviate this problem, this study provides a novel circulating current free type high frequency soft switching phase-shifted full bridge DC-DC converter which applies the energy recovery snubber(ERS) attached at the secondary side of transformer. The ERS adopted in this study is consisted of three fast recovery diode($Ds_1$, $Ds_2$, $Ds_3$), two resonant capacitor($Cs_1$, $Cs_2$) and a small resonant inductor [(Lr) : It can be ignored because the transformer leakage inductance(Ll) is able to use in stead of inserting the resonant inductor(Lr)]
