In this paper, a nonlinear finite element procedure is presented for the dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete shells. A computer program, named RCAHEST(reinforced concrete analysis in higher evaluation system technology), for the analysis of reinforced concrete structures was used. A 4-node flat shell element will drilling rotational stiffness is used for spatial discretization. The layered approach is used to discretize behavior of concrete and reinforcement through the thickness. Material nonlinearity is taken into account by comprising tensile, compressive and shear models of cracked concrete and a model of reinforcing steel. The smeared crack approach is incorporated. Solution of the equations of motion is obtained by numerical integration using Hilber-Hughes-Taylor(HHT) algorithm. The proposed numerical method for the nonlinear dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete shells is verified by comparison with reliable analytical results.
The layered double hydroxide with the insertion of chloride ions (LDH-Cl), which was synthesized by the co-precipitation method, was applied to investigate the fundamental aspects of the absorptive agent for phosphate removal from wastewater. The adsorption capacity was best described by the Langmuir-FreundIich isotherm, and the estimated isotherm parameters indicate that the LDH-CI capacity for the phosphate removal is much higher than that observed using a natural adsorbent material such iron oxide tailing. The kinetic experiment also showed that the LDH-Cl adsorption reaction rapidly at the adsorptive rate of 0.55 mg-P/g-LDH/min, implying that this adsorbent can be of use in the full-scale applications. The pH had a minimal effect on the LDH adsorption capacity in the range of 5 to 11, although the capacity dropped at the low pHs because of the change in LDH surface properties. Furthermore, other anions such as $Cl^-$ and $NO_3{^-}$ commonly found in the wastewater streams insignificantly affected the phosphate removal efficiencies, while $HCO_3{^-}$ ions had a negative effect on the LDH adsorption capacity due to its high selectivity. The phosphate removal experiment using the actual secondary effluent from a wastewater treatment plant showed the similar decrease in adsorption capacity, indicating that the bicarbonate ions in the wastewater were competing with phosphate for the adsorptive site in the surface of the LDH-Cl. Overall, the synthetic adsorbent material, LDH-Cl, can be a feasible alternative over other conventional chemical agents, since the LDH-Cl exhibits the high phosphate removal capacity with the low sensitivity to other environmental conditions.
Double-layered ZnO nanostructures have been synthesized by aqueous solution method on (001) plane of ZnO nanorod. A stepwise changing of aqueous solution concentration gave rise to a new nano-structured layer consisting of either multiple of nanorods or nanowires with much smaller radii than that of the ZnO nanorod on which the new layer was grown. As the first step the ZnO nanorods have been grown to have the (001) preferential orientation in the aqueous solution consisting of 0.1M zinc nitrate and 0.1 M HMT. This preferentially aligned ZnO nanorods have been regrown in either a less diluted solution of 0.01M zinc nitrate and 0.01 M HMT or a more diluted solution of 0.005M zinc nitrate and 0.01 M HMT. A new nano-layer consisting of numerous aligned nanorods or nanowires has been produced on the (001) planes of ZnO nanorods. The growth mechanism for this double layered ZnO nanostructure is ascribed to the (001) polar surface energy instability and inhibition of (001) plane growth due to the step-wise change of aqueous solution concentration; ZnO nuclei formed on the (001) plane grow preferentially in (010) plane instead of (001) plane to reduce the total surface energy. Surface area of ZnO nanostructure can be increased in orders of magnitudes by forming a new layer consisting of smaller nanorods/nanowires on (001) plane of ZnO nanorods.

The Isolation of few-layered transition metal dichalcogenides has mainly been performed by mechanical and chemical exfoliation with very low yields. in particular, the two-dimensional layer of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has recently attracted much interest due to its direct-gap property and potential application in optoelectronics and energy harvesting. However, the synthetic approach to obtain high-quality and large-area MoS2 atomic thin layers is still rare. In this account, a controlled thermal reduction-sulfurization method is used to synthesize large-MoOx thin films are first deposited on Si/SiO2 substrates, which are then sulfurized (under vacuum) at high temperatures. Samples with different thicknesses have been analyzed by Raman spectroscopy and TEM, and their photoluminescence properties have been evaluated. We demonstrated the presence of mono-, bi-, and few-layered MoS2 on as-grown samples. It is well known that the electronic structure of these materials is very sensitive to the number of layer, ranging from indirect band gap semiconductor in the bulk phase to direct band gap semiconductor in monolayers. This synthetic approach is simple, scalable, and applicable to other transition metal dichalcogenides. Meanwhile, the obtained MoS2 films are transferable to arbitrary substrates, providing great opportunities to make layered composites by stacking various atomically thin layers.
The integral equation method is used for magnetotelluric (MT) modeling of a finite inhomogeneity in a two-layered earth. An integral equation relates the incident plane-wave field and the scattering currents in the three-dimensional (3-D) inhomogeneity through the electric tensor Green's function appropriate to a layered earth. This paper describes an effect of overburden and basement on MT responses of 3-D body. The effect of overburden is to reduce the detectability of target, and the reduction of detectability is more apparent for conductive overburden than for resistive one. The effect of basement, on the other hand, may enhance the anomaly due to 3-D body in the upper layer. In case of the resistive basement current perturbations about the body tend to be confined to the more conductive upper layer.

This paper describes a design of low-density parity-check(LDPC) decoder supporting block length 2,304-bit and code rate 1/2 of IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX standard. The designed LDPC decoder employs the min-sum algorithm and partially parallel layered-decoding architecture which processes a sub-matrix of $96{\times}96$ in parallel. By exploiting the properties of the min-sum algorithm, a new memory reduction technique is proposed, which reduces check node memory by 46% compared to conventional method. Functional verification results show that it has average bit-error-rate(BER) of $4.34{\times}10^{-5}$ for AWGN channel with Fb/No=2.1dB. Our LDPC decoder synthesized with a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS cell library has 174,181 gates and 52,992 bits memory, and the estimated throughput is about 417 Mbps at 100-MHz@l.8-V.
Purpose: The aim of this research was to investigate difference in shear bond strengths of full-contour zirconia layered with porcelain. Methods: Disk-shaped (diameter: 12.0 mm; height: 3.0 mm) zirconia were randomly divided into six groups according to the surface conditioning method to be applied (N=90, n=15 per group): group 1-contol group(ZC); group 2-airborne particle abrasion with $50-{\mu}m\;Al_2O_3(5A)$; group $3-50-{\mu}m\;Al_2O_3$ + liner(5AL), group $4-110-{\mu}m\;Al_2O_3(1A)$; group $5-110-{\mu}m\;Al_2O_3$ + liner(1AL); group 6-liner(LC). On each block, zirconia porcelain was build up according to manufacturer's instructions. All samples were fixed with measuring jigs and shear bond strength were measured with Universal testing machine. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Win 12.0 statistics program. Results: LC showed the highest value($29.92{\pm}2.55$ MPa) and ZC showed the lowest value($13.22{\pm}1.37$ MPa). Zirconia liner and Alumina oxide groups was significantly higher shear bond strength than control(p<0.05). 5A (without liner $22.18{\pm}2.37$, with liner $22.84{\pm}1.74$ MPa) was higher shear bond strength than $110{\mu}m$ (without liner $20.18{\pm}2.38$, with $20.71{\pm}2.67$). Conclusion: Surface treatments may have advantage in bond strength improvement for full-contour zirconia layered with porcelain.

The presently commercialized lithium-ion batteries use layer structured LiCoO₂ cathodes. Because of the high cost and toxicity of cobalt, an intensive search for new cathode materials has been underway in recent years. Recently, a concept of a one-to-one solid state mixture of LiNO₂ and LiMnO₂, i.e., Li[Ni/sub 0.5/Mn/sub 0.5/]O₂, was adopted by Ohzuku and Makimura to overcome the disadvantage of LiNiO₂ and LiMnO₂. Li[Ni/sub 0.5/Mn/sub 0.5/]O₂ has the -NaFeO₂ structure, which is characteristic of the layered LiCoO₂ and LiNiO₂ structures and shows excellent cycleability with no indication of spinel formation during electrochemical cycling. Layered Li[Ni/sub x/Co/sub 1-2x/Mn/sub x/]O₂ (x = 0.5 and 0.475) materials with high homogeneity and crystallinity were synthesized using a mechanical alloying method. The Li[Ni/sub 0.475/Co/sub 0.05/Mn/sub 0.475/]O₂ electrode delivers a high discharge capacity of 187 mAh/g between 2.8 and 4.6 V at a high current density of 0.3 mA/㎠(30 mA/g) with excellent cycleability. The charge/discharge and differential capacity vs. voltage studies of the Li[Ni/sub x/Co/sub 1-2x/Mn/sub x/]O₂ (x = 0.5 and 0.475) materials showed only one redox peak up to 50 cycles, which indicates that structural phase transitions are not occurred during electrochemical cycling. The magnitude of the diffusion coefficients of lithium ions for Li[Ni/sub x/Co/sub 1-2x/Mn/sub x/]O₂(x = 0.5 and 0.475) are around 10/sup -9/ ㎠/s measured by the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT).
The underpotential deposited Bi on Pt($Bi_{upd}/Pt$) anode for formic acid fuel cells (FAFCs) was developed using multi-layered preparation method for better electrocatalytic utilization of Pt. The electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) result indicated that $Bi_{upd}$ remains through the catalyst layer during stability test. In performance test, the multilayered $Bi_{upd}$ on Pt black showed superior performance by approximately 200 mV at current density of $150mA/cm^2$ compared with PtRu black anode catalyst. Based on preparation condition of $Bi_{upd}/Pt$ black, carbon supported $Bi_{upd}/Pt/C$ electrode was prepared and it showed enhanced performance and stability.

The business based existing BPMN model is a lack of service oriented modeling techniques. Therefore, it requires a layered technique of service oriented business modeling so that can meet the design for a complex application system, developing a system based on SOA. In order to enhance reusability and modularity of BPMN business model, this paper proposes a metamodel and business modeling process based on this metamodel that can hierarchically build a BPMN model. Towards this end, the XL-BPMN metamodel hierarchically established based on MDA and MVS styles are first defined. Then a BPMN service modeling process is constructed based on modeling elements of this metamodel according to the modeling phases. Finally, the result of a case study in which the proposed method is applied to an online shopping mall system is discussed. With the use of well-defined metamodel and modeling process, it is hoped that it can be shown that a service dominated and layered BPMN business model can be established, and that the modularity and reusability of the constructed BPMN business model can be maximized.
