Harmonic Reduction of Three-Phase Boost Rectifier using a Harmonic- Injected (고조파 주입 펄스 폭 변조를 이용한 3상 부스트 정류기의 고조파 저감)

  • Power electronic loads inject harmonic currents into the utility system. The large increase of power consumption will inevitably lead to deteriorating power quality due to the popularization of switch-mode power electronic equipment. In this paper, a periodic voltage is injected in the control circuit to vary duty cycle of the rectifier switch within a line cycle so that the fifth-order harmonic of the input current is reduced to meet the IEC 61000-3-2 requirement. Experimental results are presented to confirm the validity of this method.

  • 3Phase PWM rectifier has become increasingly popular due to its capability of nearly sinusoidal waveform of the input current, and nearly unity power factor operation as a AC/DC rectifier of high capacity telecommunication power supply system. Generally, PI controller is used as a voltage controller of PWM rectifier and voltage controller must be designed to have low overshoot in transient state to get a reliability and stable operation. However, in the application of telecommunication in which load condition is varied very fast, the voltage controller must have a large bandwidth to reduce output voltage variation. The PI controller with large bandwidth arouse the excessive overshoot of the output voltage, and this large output voltage variation degrades the reliability of communication power of the three-phase PWM Rectifier. In this paper, new IP voltage controller for 3 phase PWM rectifier is proposed which has relatively low transient output voltage variation. The improved output characteristics of the transient state voltage responses of the starting and at load changes of the proposed voltage controller are proved by simulations and experiments.

  • Generally, It was used to use a unit of a Large regularity in developing Large Capacity Converter System of the electric power. Lager a capacity of a unit of regularity, more expensive cost of it. So, normally, We overcome the limit of a proper form of an electricity semiconductor which be used in application field of Large capacity electricity conversion system through the Composition of Multi-level Circuit or Dual-Mode or parallel switch. but some problem is discussed. Using parallel RC-diode circuit instead of Large Capacity diode, We implemented a circuit that it overcome the limit of a regularity with dealing current distributed by parallel RC-diode circuit.

  • In the single-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive, the required DC source is generally supplied by the circuit consisting of bridge rectifier with diodes and many filter capacitances connected with AC source. Although the peak torque ripple of SRM is small because of large capacity of the capacitance, the charge and discharge time swhich the AC source acts on the capacitance are small and the peak current will pass on the side of source, so power factor and system efficiency decrease. Therefore a novel SRM drive system is presented in this paper, which includes drive circuit realizing reduction of torque ripple and improvement of power factor and switching topology. The proposed drive circuit consists of one switching part and diodes which can separate the output of AC/DC rectifier from the large capacitance and supply power to SRM alternately in order to realize reduction of torque ripple and improvement of power factor through the turn on and turn off of switching part. In addition, the validity of method is tested by simulation and experiment.

  • The pantograph contact can be disrupted due to irregularities in the motion. The pantograph detachment prohibits the current flow and makes the system uncontrollable. During the pantograph detachment period, the control error are accumulated by the integral property of the controller. The output of the controller, therefore, can be induced to be an extremely large value. When the pantograph is reattached, the extremely large output of the controllers causes a very high overshoot (or under-shoot) of the line current and the DC-link voltage. This work proposes a new method for detecting the pantograph bouncing conditions and designs a controller considering such conditions based on the pantograph bouncing detector.

  • The systematic and effective design method of a Class-D current-source resonant inverter for use in an induction cooker with zero-ripple line current is presented. The design procedure is based on the principle of the Class-D current-source resonant inverter with a simplified load network model that is a parallel equivalent circuit. An induction load characterization is obtained from a large-signal excitation test-bench based on parallel load network, which is the key to an accurate design for the induction cooker system. Accordingly, the proposed scheme provides a systematic, precise, and feasible solution than the existing design method based on series-parallel load network under low-signal excitation. Moreover, a zero-ripple condition of utility-line input current is naturally preserved without any extra circuit or control. Meanwhile, a differential-mode input electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter can be eliminated, high power quality in utility-line can be obtained, and a standard-recovery diode of bridge-rectifier can be employed. The step-by-step design procedure explained with design example. The devices stress and power loss analysis of induction cooker with a parallel load network under large-signal excitation are described. A 2,500-W laboratory prototype was developed for $220-V_{rms}/50-Hz$ utility-line to verify the theoretical analysis. An efficiency of the prototype is 96% at full load.

  • To improve the current waveform of diode rectifiers, we propose a new operating principle for the voltage diode rectifiers. In the conventional voltage rectifier circuit, relatively large capacitors are used to boost the output voltage, while the proposed circuit uses smaller ones and a small reactor not to boost the output voltage but improve the input current waveform. A circuit design method is shown and confirmed simulation. It explained that compared conventional SPWM inverter with HPWM(Half Pulse-width modulated)Inverter. Proposed HPWM inverter eliminated dead-time by lowering switching loss and holding over-shooting. Output voltage and current of this paper were applied for real air-conditioner.

Harmonic Reduction Scheme By the Advanced Auxiliary Voltage Supply (개선된 보조전원장치에 의한 고조파 저감대책)

  • Diode rectifiers are very popular in industry. However, they include large low-order harmonics in the input current and do not satisfy harmonic current content restrictions. To reduce the harmonics to the power system, several methods have been introduced. It is heavy and expensive solution to use passive filters as the solution for high power application. Another solution for the harmonic filter is utilization of active filter, but it is too expensive solution. Diode rectifiers with configurations using switching device have been introduced, but they are very complicated. The combined 12-pulse diode rectifier with the square auxiliary voltage supply has been introduced. It has the advantages that auxiliary circuit is simple and inexpensive compared to other strategies. The advanced auxiliary voltage supply in this thesis is presented as a new solution. When the square auxiliary voltage supply applied, the improvement of THD is 6~60[%] in whole load range. But when the advanced auxiliary voltage supply applied, it shows stable and excellent reduction effect of THD as 57~71[%]. Especially, for the case with 10[%] load factor, reduction effect of THD has little effect as 6[%] in the case of inserting a square auxiliary voltage supply. But when the proposed new solution applied, reduction effect has excellent effect as 71[%]. Theoretical analysis of the combined 12-pulse diode rectifier with the advanced auxiliary voltage supply is presented and control methods of the auxiliary supply is proposed. The reduction in the input current harmonics is verified by simulation using software PSIM.

Electrophysiological Properties of the Neurons Dissociated from the Nucleus Raphe Magnus in Postnatal Rats (흰쥐의 Nucleus Raphe Magnus로부터 분리된 신경세포의 전기생리학적 성질)

  • Neurons in the nucleus raphe magnus are involved in descending modulation of nociceptive transmission. In this study, we attempted to investigate electrophysiological properties of the NRM neurons dissociated from the postnatal rat medulla. The NRM neurons in the coronal slices of and the dissociated neurons from the postnatal rat medullae were immunohistochemically identified using antibody against serotonin. Relatively small number of neurons were positively stained in both preparations. The positively stained neurons displayed large cell body with double or multiple neurites. Using whole-cell patch clamp configuration ionic currents were recorded from the dissociated NRM-like neurons selected by criteria such as size and shape of cell body and cell population. Two types, high- and low-threshold, of voltage-dependent calcium currents were recorded from the dissociated NRM-like neurons. Some neurons displayed both types of calcium currents, whereas others displayed only high-threshold calcium current. Voltage-dependent potassium currents were also recorded from the dissociated NRM neurons. Some neurons displayed both transient outward and delayed rectifier currents but others showed only delayed rectifier current. These results suggest that there are at least two types of calcium currents and two types of potassium currents in the dissociated NRM neurons.
