서울숲 조성 설계공모에 대한 비판적 연구 (A Critical Review of the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition)

  • The Seoul Woods Design Competition in 2003 was one of the most remarkable events within the field of landscape architecture in Korea since the Yeo-Ui Do Square Park Design Competition in the mid 1990s. This study examines the overall procedure, evaluations and competition guidelines for the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition and identifies the implications and issues related to Korean landscape architecture. In addition this study analyzes the design concepts, strategies and spatial composition, and programs of five selected design worts including the best awarded work. This study also examines key features and issues from the five selected design works. Finally, this study examines a new trend of landscape design in Korea, which can be observed at the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition. In this study, it is argued that the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition had significant implications for landscape architecture in Korea. Firstly, the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition was the greatest project in Korea in terms of its size. Therefore, it shows us an enhanced status of Korean landscape architecture. Secondly, the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition provided a good opportunity to redefine the concept of 'park' in Korean modern society. Thirdly, through the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition, we can observe a dramatic change and developments in Korean landscape design since the 1990s, as well as the present status of landscape design competitions in Korea. And this study identifies an emphasis of a program in design, an evolution in ecological approach an diminishment in concern of Korean tradition, and a change in design methods and media, which are some aspects of Korean contemporary landscape design observed at the Seoul Forest Park Design Competition.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive a model to improve the execution ability of landscape policy by considering the characteristics of the region by analyzing the process and contents of the rural landscape policy. First of all, the adaptation stage manages the important and severely damaged landscapes of the village through the landscape agreement, and the rural community promotes the landscape business with the experience of carrying out a certain level of landscape activities based on the landscape agreement. In the mid-to long-term planning of areas where a high level of landscape management is required due to its high performance, it was suggested that the residents voluntarily decided on autonomous goals and activities and, the value of the landscape.

모더니즘조경의 설계 특성에 관한 연구 -신고전주의 이후 나타난 정원설계를 중심으로- (On the Design Characteristics of Modern Landscape Architecture -With the Trends of Garden Design after Neo-Classicism-)

  • This paper is to define what characteristics of modern landscape architecture are in terms of garden design. It is important to understand the characteristics of modern landscape architecture, not only for practical design works but also for design ideology. The characteristics were investigated by anlayzing several crucial drawings of modern landscape architects from the later ninteenth century to the early twentieth century. It is found that modern landscape architecture had been evolved after Neo-classicism in its design language, use of materials and principles. And modern landscape architecture was formulating its own design language not only by borrowing the language from other design fields, such as modern architecture but also by making own vocabulary itself the characteristics of modern landscape architecture were defined as collapse of genre, organic structure, pictorial composition, change of living thing, including those of modern architecture. Modern landscape architects drew their humanistic image on "the garden palette" which pursued artistic sense of creation.

조경식재공사 설계변경 유형 및 변경 적합성에 대한 인식 분석 - A공사 아파트단지 식재공사를 중심으로 - (An Analysis of the Types of Planting Design Change Orders and on Its Feasibility Cognition in the Landscape Planting Construction - Focused on the Planting Construction of Apartment Complex Practiced by 'A' Housing Corporation -)

  • 본 연구는 'A'공사에서 발주된 아파트 단지 조경식재공사에서 발생하는 설계변경의 유형과 설계변경의 적합성 인식을 분석함으로써 향후 조경식재공사의 설계변경을 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 기초 자료 제시를 목적으로 수행하였는바 다음과 같은 결론이 도출되었다. 첫째, 2기 신도시 건설 이후 'A'공사에서 발주하여 시행된 수도권 현장 자료를 중심으로 조사 분석을 실시하여 '이미지 개선을 위한 설계변경', '설계내역의 불일치로 인한 설계변경', '현장조사 미비로 인한 설계변경', '이용자 미 고려로 인한 설계변경', '시공성의 고려로 인한 설계변경', '유지관리의 용이함을 위한 설계변경', '타 공종과의 관계로 인한 설계변경' 등 총 7가지의 조경식재공사 설계변경 유형을 구분할 수 있었다. 둘째, 17개 주거단지에서 총 553건의 조경공사 설계변경이 있었고, 그 중 조경식재공사 설계변경은 37.6%에 해당하는 208건이 나타났다. 또한, 식재 설계변경으로 인하여 생기는 공사비의 유동성으로 인해 당초 계획된 공사비의 변경으로 부정적인 영향을 낳는 것으로 파악되었다. 셋째, 조경식재공사 설계변경은 '이미지 개선에 의한 설계변경'과 '설계내역 불일치에 의한 설계변경'이 조경식재공사 설계변경에서 절대적인 부분을 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 조경분야 전문가를 대상으로 타당성 검증을 실시한 결과, 본 연구에서 도출한 7가지의 조경식재공사 설계변경 유형의 통계값이 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다.

국내학술지에 게재된 농촌경관 관련 연구동향 분석 (Analysis of Research Trends about Rural Landscape Published in Korean Academic Journals)

  • This article centers on 'rural landscape' in terms of subjects and subject-words among journals that are registered or would be registered in Korea Education and Research Information Service from 1995 up to 2014 to group 109 theses by subject that include planning, projects, residents' participation, that are fit for the purpose of this study so that research trends by journal, change in subjects by year and change in detailed subjects may be analyzed. Its detailed outcome is as follows. First, current situations of carrying theses by academic society shows that a total of 23 societies have conducted research, among which, International Society for Rural Plan In Korea has contributed 57 theses followed by Korean Science of Landscape Architecture with 10 theses and Korean Rural Society with 8 theses. Among them, Korean Rural Society is the only one continually contributing theses up until now, positioning itself at the center of rural landscape research. Second, a look into years shows that there was meager researches made; 6 from 1995 ~ 1999, 9 from 2000 to 2004 while there was a leap up to 55 from 2005 to 2009. There was a decrease down to 39 theses from 2010 to 2014 but research activities went on.

도농통합지역의 녹지환경정비모델에 관한 연구 I - 위성데이타를 이용한 천안시 토지이용 변화 - (A Study on the Urban Fringe Landscape Environment Model -The Analysis of Change in Land Uses of Chonan City using Landsat TM Data-)

  • Landcover has been largely influenced by human activities, especially in recent days. The analysis of the change of land use by urbanized development is useful for determining development plan hereafter. This study aimed to the quantitative analysis about the urban sprawl within 12 years from 1985 to 1996, at Chonan, and for extracting the characteristics of change. For this purpose, this study performed land cover classifications using Landsat TM data . A hybrid classification method was used to classify satellite images into seven types of land cover. Road network digitied from 1:25,000 topographic map was rasterized and overlaid on the landcover map. A result of this study showed that area of forest and paddy decreased due to urban sprawl. Especially from 1993 to 1996, the change of land use progressed rapidly because of merging a city and a country in Chonan. The size of patch in forest had been smaller and irregular form. It is a general progress that the forest have changed the paddy and bare land paddy and bare land have changed low-density urban or high-density urban. This explained how urbanized Chonan was and applied the suggeston of plan in landuse with the result of this study.

친환경 건축에서 나타나는 랜드스케이프 건축 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristic of 'Landscape Architecture' in Environment-Friendly Architecture)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze environmental-friendly design features in landscape architecture. The process of the study first started theoretical research of 'Environmental-friendly' and 'Landscape', then extracted primary conceptual elements that based on ecological background, and analyze 20 cases, from 1990 to now, based on elements that extracted. Summarizing about environment-friendly feature in landscape architecture of Form, Space, Energy Management is as following. First, In the formal aspect, Landscape architecture tend to harmonize with surrounding environment through horizontal, vertical continuity that is realized to transform artificial plate. Second, In the spatial aspect, Landscape architectural space has flexible feature. It is expression through methods blur boundary between outside and inside, lead to change and experience by time, indeterminacy of program. Third, In the energy management aspect, the introduction of effective energy system increase environmental features in space through technical application and environmental-friendly materials.

댐 건설 기간 수위변화가 하반림 일대 습지 식생에 미치는 영향 -한탄강댐을 사례로- (Effects of Water Level Change on Wetland Vegetation in the Area of Riparian Forest for Dam Construction Period -Focused on the Hantan River Dam-)

  • This study was performed to monitor the effects of water level change on changes of landscape, vegetation community, and species diversity of riparian forest. Hantan river dam, study area, has been constructed in the area of Chansoo-myeon, Pocheon-si and Yeoncheon-eup, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, which is a dam for flood control only in flooding season. Landscape changes were notable after the construction of coffer dam, and the changes were caused by water level increase in areas of riparian forests which consisted of mainly withered willow as a dominant species in the flooding season. It changed vegetation communities of riparian forest from Phragmites japonica and Salix koreensis to Phragmites japonica. Species diversity index was lowest in 2010 when the coffer dam was constructed and showed an increasing trend later. Thus, this study is well in agreement with a previous report that plants of the genus Salix wither by muddy water during flooding and also suggests, controlling water level of river and prediction of water level change's effects should be considered when any facilities are planned.

항공사진 및 퇴적물 분석을 통한 섬진강 침실습지 경관변화와 관리방안 (A Study on the Landscape Change and Management Plan for Seomjin River Chimsil Wetland through Aerial Photograph and Sediment Analysis)

  • This study analyzed the management plan of Seomjin River Chimsil Wetland by identifying landscape changes through aerial photographs analysis and concentrations of sedimentation. Geophysical Landscape Change Analysis showed that vegetation accounts for more than half of the total area. The Barren land and water body was somewhere repeatedly increased and decreased and made an irregular form in the study area. The soil was acidic, and no eurtophication was shown, but it was potential to form wetland. In addition, the research area has been terrestrification of sand bar for a long period of time, forming a soil layer. Although the characteristics of river deposits were shown in the study area, the grain size was a particulate matter, and the sorting was 'very poorly sorted'. In some areas of Seomjin River Chimsil Wetland, sand bars were formed, but most areas were undergoing to terrestrification. Therefore, in order to preserve the riverine area and to serve by a bridge between the land ecosystem and the underwater ecosystem, it is very necessary to remove some vegetation, create a proper waterway, and restore the wetland.
