The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristics of prospect from the mountain pass by investigating relations between the type of mountain pass and object overlooked from the mountain pass. For the purpose, this researcher selected and surveyed 44 mountain passes located in Busan, except in Gangseo-gu lesion. According to their locational characteristics, the mountain passes were classified into three types, 'sanmok'(formed between mountain peaks), 'sanheori'(formed on the mountainside) and 'sanmaru'(formed at the tip of the mountain peak). Out of the total 44 mountain passes, 22 were 'sanheori' in type. In the same type, mountain passes mostly had a prospect providing the overlap of downtown and mountain areas. The researcher examined the sight distance and dip of object to be viewed from the mountain pass, determining relations between the object and the mountain pass. When overlooked from mountain passes in Busan, most objects are distributed between $-3^{\circ}\;and\;-1^{\circ}$ in an angle of depression within the sight distance from 0.5km to 14km. Mountain passes are valuable as a post that is very important in prospecting scenes. But they are now in crisis. They are being gradually disappeared because of development projects. Finally, the researcher hopes that the study makes recognizing the value of the mountain pass and contributes to preserve the mountain pass as an important post of view point when its region is later developed.
This research has a significant meaning to break from the urban ecology-oriented biotope research and realize the importance of rural landscape as a reserve area for systemizing the types of rural biotope. The results are as follows. First of all, items for classification of 16 rural biotope areas are designed and total 9 itmes in slope from spatial structural point of view and 7 items in minute-variety from functional point of view. Also, as the result of on-site research on case areas based on classified items, there are 46 types of rural biotope such as coniferous forest, hedgerow and so on. For example, it is proven that uncultivated stripe showed the most frequent emergence. As a result of cluster analysis of average linkage method between clusters, 12 clusters are classified as a clusters and 13 biotope types are re-corrected and complemented through brainstorming process and then total 12 clusters are selected as final rural biotope type groups. As a rural biotope type cluster and character analysis according to types based on on-site research and documentary survey, for example, it is analyzed that the ratio of transmissible covering ratio is 100%, the ratio of green coverage is 90% in 'woodland in cultivated area biotope type cluster'.
This study aimed to clarify meanings of Palkyung(八景) in different regions which can be considered as the prototype of the region's cultural landscape and also to confirm the change process by pointing out landscape characteristics and finally, to provide a foundation for the regions to establish their own identities, so they could be provided against the changes from developments in other areas. The relationship between the characteristics of landscape values and the components of 32 Palkyung in 4 places those are Gogunsan, Wido, Gunsan and Byunsan under Saemankeum area have been analyzed and evaluated from operational point of view to clarify the structure of the landscape concept. Some important differentiation points would be the sunset of the West Sea, sailing boats and the sceneries related to fishing as they are in the West Sea Islands and the coastal regions; and it clearly reflects the local customs and the characteristics of the landscapes. Each of Gogunsan, Wido and Gunsan Palkyung has 2 distance views with 4km of visible area while Byunsan Palkyung has only 1; and it is considered that because it is mountain area. Most of the Byunsan Palkyung has close range views except for Seohaenakjo and there are around 4 close range views in other areas. There were 4 landscape dominated influence areas each in Gunsan and Byunsan, which means that there are comparatively more close to middle range views. Moreover, each region contains 2 to 3 views of psychological influence but as mentioned, Byunsan has only 1 view of psychological influence. Therefore it is very important and valuable thing to consider the scenic relationship, preservation and reconstruction of Palkyung when planning the project.
The purpose of this study is to compare calculated pollutant loadings using pollutant load unit factors and vector type coverage, and expected mean concentration(EMC) and raster type of digital elevation model(DEM). This study is also focusing on comparison of the advantages and the disadvantages of the two methods, and seeking for a method of calculation of pollutant loadings using DEM. Estimation of pollutant inputs using pollutant load unit factors has limitations in identifying seasonal variations of pollutant loadings. Seasonal changes of runoffs should be considered in the calculation of pollutant loadings from catchments into reservoirs. Evaluation of pollutant inputs using runoff-coefficient and EMC can overcome these drawbacks. Proper EMC and runoff-coefficient values for the Koeup stream catchments of the Koheung estuarine lake were drawn from review of related papers. Arc/Info was employed to establish database of spatial and attribute data of point and non-point pollutant sources and characteristics of the catchments. ArcView was used to calculate point and non-point pollutant loadings. Pollutant loads estimated with either unit factors-coverages, i.e., pollutant load unit factors and vector coverages f point sources and land use, or EMC and digital elevation mode(DEM) were compared with stream monitoring loads. We have found that some differences were shown between monitoring results and estimated loads by Unit Factors-Coverage and EMC-DEM. Monthly variations of pollutant loads evaluated with EMC-DEM were similar to those with monitoring result. The method using EMC-DEM can calculate accumulated flows and pollutant loads and can be utilized to identify stream networks. A future research on correcting the difference between vector type stream using flow direction grid and digitalizing vector type should be conducted in order to obtain more exact calculation of pollutant loadings.
In this research, we have performed a T-test to see how the relationship between dependent variable or visual point level and independent variable or visual quantity is in order to clear up the correlation between pattern of visual point and visual quantity by the constituents of a view from a different visual point level and the results are as follows: 1) In case of the character of Mt. Uam landscape of the city, Uamsan is set as a fixed point and about a direction of view(D), the north is a datum point from which the range of direction is distributed within 1800 westwardly and the visual range(R) is also within 2000m. An elevation is an average of 7.40 and the average story of the buildings is 3.85. Here the height of a story is about 4m so the average of the visual point difference is estimated at 15.4m. 2) The type of visual point is divided into the intersection group and the front of the highly used public buildings group. Double intersection types account for about 78.80%(52 spots) which forms a majority part of LCP. 3) The analysis of the difference of visual point level divided by eye level and that of the top of the buildings has been proved that there's a sharp difference resulted from t-test at 1 % significant level. The significant difference of elevation from height difference(l5.93m), however, has not been shown. 4) From the result of T-test about visual quantity by the elements of a view from a different visual point level, the visual quantity of mountain(VQM), sky(VQS), ground(VQG) is significant at about 1% each and that of building(VQB) is at about 5%. The difference in visual quantity of a mountain by the visual point level is at about 4% which can meet a marginal level of LCP necessary for evaluation of mountainscape.
This research is significant in terms of estimating the validity by setting evaluation items in view of integrating not only original beauty and visual areas but also natural ecological areas based on questionnaire. The results are as follows. 1) According to literature study, 17 items such as variety, the character of sites in terms of landscape, the beauty of landscape, visibility, and ratio of green visibility are selected. Also, 21 items such as variety of animals and plants species, size of green area, and ecological naturalness are selected in the area of landscape ecological resources. 2) As a result of questionnaire of the group of landscape experts, animals and plants ecological areas show 5.6341, the highest in importance analysis according to assessment areas. Also, as a result of importance analysis on items in each area, for example, in the area of visual resources, the item of skyline analysis is 6.0488, the highest. 3) As a result of corelation of item meaning on landscape effect assesment, for example, meaningness of psychological assessment item and landscape site item indicate 0.710, the highest coefficient correlation. 4) As critical assessment items per unit project, items such as damage minimization of original land features for project in terms of point, ratio of green visibility, variety of animals and plants species marked above 8.0 as high important medium. The project in terms of line, minimization of original land features, preservation of worthy biotope showed high point and the character of sites in terms of landscape, minimization of original land features, the size of green area, and analysis of skyline marked above 8.5 as high importance points. On the contrary, items for climate and soil showed relatively low points.
The background of this study is to provide meaning of landscape history and to find out landscape origines which were strongly concerned with the nature through breaking out the form of conventional adapting elements from an exterior. And the purpose of this study is to review Brown's philosophy as picturesque landscape architectur and to provide useful Brown's characteristics to contemporary landscape by epitomizing his design elements. Brown estiablished a foundation of the English landscape garden of the eighteenth century. And the concept, the beauty of nature, is considered as a beginning point of modernism study. The study of the Brownian style as profoundity theme is conversion view to the development of the history of garden. These days, the restoration of the Brownian style at the public or garden design in England is based on the nature recourse of the original character of human. And also his style can be understood to seek the progressive transformation as to perfectly known the possibility of the place, to get clues to the solutions, and to be able to iprove the quality of environment. Therefore, Brown's efforts for seeding the essence of landscape architecture escaping from Englands old-fashioned landscape design skills might be considered in high worth.
The Hemi-sphere projection method produces an image that includes all surrounding visual landscape from a view point. This characteristic can solve the problem of perspective method that has only a limited view angle, and thus can be a potentially effective method for the analysis of visual landscape. This study tried to adopt the hemi-sphere projection method in the evaluation of streetscape, and examined its effectiveness and possibilities. Computer animations using the perspective method and the hemi-sphere method were produced for Bang-Hak Ro, Seoul, and the kames of the animations were reclassed to identify the visibility ratio of physical elements(buildings, sky and mountains). A preference questionnaire was given to 51 university students, and the relationships between the visibility ratio and visual preference were analyzed. The results showed that visual preference of streetscape can be explained by three factors: Openness, Uniformity, and Variousness, accounting for 63.2% of the total variance, and among which Openness showed the highest proportion at 32.1%. The visibility ratio calculated by the hemi-sphere method yielded strong correlation coefficients with Openness, and it was much higher than with the perspective method. The hemi-sphere method also produced significant correlation coefficients about Uniformity and Variousness, but the perspective method could not. The results demonstrated that the hemi-sphere method can provide more accurate observation of visual changes, and that it can be an effective method for the analysis of streetscape.
This research is focus on the analysis of bridge image and preference. In this study, 3 types of bridge with arch bridge, cable stayed bridge, and suspension bridge, 4 prospect points named A, B, C, and D will be simulated in one scene for final analysis of bridge image and preference. On prospect point A, higher evaluation is received among the arch bridge. In addition, for cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge, the Higher evaluation is received among the most at the arch bridge on prospect point B. At the on prospect point C, higher evaluation is received among the most cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge compared with arch bridge. At the on prospect point D, lower evaluation is received among the cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge compared with arch bridge. The highest average total preference is received for cable stayed bridge. And, The lowest average total preference is received for arch bridge. Cable stayed bridge is suitable for the Baegya Bridge than arch bridge in the Landscape point. In conclusion, the preference for one bridge is not the same at different prospect points through above research.
The purposes of this study are (1) carrying out the case study for the urban park planning in point of landscape ecology, (2) analyzing and evaluating the indicator character of the landscape ecological view on the basis of the case study and (3) proposing the urban park planning in point of landscape ecology. The results of this study are as follows. As a result of the elongation analysis among the shape indicators, especially, Dalsung Park has the highest score 0.85 and Chimsan Park has the lowest score 0.34. In case of green shape index, Bummul Park has 1.70 and Chimsan Park has 1.40 respectively. As a result of the buffer analysis, Chimsan Park turned out to be the highest, Bummul Park turned out the lowest. Chimsan Park gets I grade in two indicators but Bummul Park gets III grade in four indicators contrastively. As a result of the possibility analysis of the urban park planning, increasing elongation index and the number of major lobes can be an improvement method. Also by changing multilayer structure, micro-multiformity and curvature are increased and buffer of edge is improved. In this study, the basic data of landscape ecology can be obtained by the character analysis of landscape ecology. This study has a significant meaning of possibility in planning of the urban park which reflects the character of landscape ecology. This research was only performed in Chimsan Park, so additional researches for various cases will be needed.
