단순회귀모형을 이용한 인구와 도시적 토지이용이 팔당호 수질에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analysis for the Effect of Population and Urban Land use on the Water Quality in Paldang Lake Using Simple Regression Model)

  • In this study, a simple regression model is proposed in order to analyse the effect of population and urban land use on the water quality of Paldang lake, Gyeonggi. As a comparison result with Qua12E water quality model, the proposed model shows very good predicting performance in simulating several alternative scenarios. In order to accomplish BOD 1ppm of Paldang lake, various model applications show that the population incoming and urban land use management should be afoot in addition to stricter outflow water quality from sewer treatmement systems.

영랑호 수질의 공간적 분포 및 개선방안 (Spatial Distribution and Improvement of Water Quality in the Youngrang Lake)

  • From 2014 to 2016 water quality survey results according to the location and depth of Youngrang Lake are as follows: Distribution of dissolved oxygen in the water depth was investigated by the middle section and the downstream 1st, 3rd, 5th, when investigating bottem 1m interval anoxic layer. In organic matter and nutrient concentration distribution COD upstream 2.8 mg/L, middle section 4.2 mg/L downstream 4.1 mg/L, more than two times higher in bottem layer and TP concentrations showed a similar trend with COD, upstream of 0.047 mg/L, middle section was 0.051 mg/L, downstream of 0.059 mg/L. There was a difference in salinity every survey period the average salinity is lowest with 28.5‰ when the second survey. And the highest with 32.1‰ in the fourth investigation. Korean trophic state index($TSI_{KO}$) were showed eutrophic conditions in the middle section and downstream else showed mesotrophic state in the entire period. In order to evaluate the cause of water pollution Youngrang lake, regression analysis of the relationship between salinity and DO, COD, TN, TP, Chl-a results, $R^2$ is from 0.63 to 0.95 Youngrang lake water quality was found to have a close relationship with salinity due to inflow of seawater. As a result, in order to improve the quality of Youngrang lake efficient incorporation of the amount of water through the seawater influent as it is considered the key.

새만금호의 수질 특성 및 영양상태지수를 이용한 부영양화 평가 (Assessment of Eutrophication Using Trophic State Index and Water Quality Characteristics of Saemangeum Lake)

  • 조류의 이상증식을 일으키는 새만금호 부영양화를 평가하기 위해 Carlson 지수를 적용하였다. 연구를 위해 2021년 월별로 새만금호내 총 7개 정점에서 수질조사를 실시하였다. Chl.a의 농도는 동계에는 만경수계가 약간 높았고, 춘계와 하계에는 동진수계가 약간 높게 나타났으나, 일부 시기를 제외하고는 전체적으로 호소 수질환경기준 3등급과 비슷하거나 낮은 농도를 나타내었다. COD는 만경수계와 동진수계 모두 하계와 추계에 호소 수질환경기준 4등급과 유사하거나 상회하는 수질을 나타내었다. TOC는 모든 지점에서 3등급 이내의 수질을 보였다. 총인 농도는 호수 수질환경기준 4등급을 초과하였고, 월별로는 1월과 강우 후 8월에 높게 나타났다. 수질인자간의 상관성 분석에서 염분 농도에 대한 유기물, 총인, 총질소의 상관성이 상대적으로 높게 나타나 배수갑문을 통한 해수유입과 상류 하천을 통한 담수 유입에 의한 담수역, 기수역, 해수역의 수질 특징을 반영하고 있었다. 영양상태지수에 의한 새만금호의 부영양화 변동 특성을 보면, Chl.a와 SD, TN의 지수에서 부영양화 초기 단계의 수질을 보였으며, TP 지수의 경우 심각한 부영양화 상태를 나타내고 있었다. 수질인자간 부영양화 지수의 크기는 모든 수계에서 TSI(TP) > TSI(TN) > TSI(SD) > TSI(CHL)의 순으로 나타났다. TSI(CHL)에 대한 TSI(TP) 및 TSI(SD)와의 편차를 2차원 평면으로 나타낸 사분면 분석 결과를 보면, 조류 성장에 대한 총인이 영향에서는 모든 수계에서 대부분의 총인(TP)에 의한 제한적 영향은 나타나지 않았으며, 빛 감쇠에 영향을 미치는 인자는 외부로부터 유입되는 적은 입자상 물질에 의한 영향이 크게 나타나는 것으로 평가할 수 있다.

수질과 오염원의 장기적 변화를 통한 팔당호 상수원수질보전 특별대책지역 규제효과 분석 (A Study on the Regulatory Effect of the Special Water Preservation Area of Lake Paldang Watershed Based on Long-Term Variation of Pollutant Source and Water Quality)

  • The objective of this study was to assess the effect of policies on water quality management based on the changes in pollutants and water quality in Special Water Preservation Area (SWPA) of Lake Paldang watershed from 1990 to 2016. The population, total sewage and flow rate of wastewater in SWPA continuously increased from 1990 to 2016, while the location of new facilities for industrial and livestock facilities has been restricted. However, unlike the buffer zone in which industrial and livestock facilities were continuously reduced after implementing of TMDL, it was found that the effect of land-use regulations on industrial and livestock facilities in SWPA were mitigated by the increase in the size of large facilities. Since 1999 when the emission standard of public sewage treatment plants (STP) was changed, the water quality of Lake Paldang has increased despite the increase of pollutant source. Since emission standard of STP changed in 2012 (BOD 5 mg/L, TP 0.2 mg/L), BOD concentration in Lake Paldang has also improved to the level of water quality in the early 1990s where as TP concentration has remained at its lowest since 1990. BOD and TP average discharge concentration of 43 STP (${\geq}500m^3/day$) in 2016 have been maintained $1.7{\pm}0.7mg/L$ and $0.06{\pm}0.02mg/L$ respectively. While the discharged load of STP in SWPA was decreased by the concentration management, the contribution rate to the total discharged load of non-point pollutants increased to 70 % in 2015, and the contribution rate to the point discharged load of individual treatment facilities increased to 80 %.

섬진강 ${\cdot}$ 영산강 수계 주요 호소의 수질 동향과 영양상태 조사 (Trophic State and Water Quality in Major Lakes of the Sumjin and Youngsan River Systems)

  • 조사 시기 동안 (2000~2004년) 주암호와 동복호에서는 겨울을 제외한 시기에 표층과 저층의 수온차이로 인해성층화가 발생하였지만 영산호에서는 나타나지 않았다. 투명도는 주암호>동복호>영산호 순으로 영산호에서 낮은 투명도를 보였으며 주암호와 동복호에서는 식물플랑크톤의 생물량이 높게 나타나는 가을 저층에는 저산소상태로 수질 악화를 나타내었다. 암모니아, 질산염, 인산염 TN, TP는 주암호와 동복호에 비해 영산호에서 높게 나타났으나 클로로필 a는 평균적으로 동복호에서 높았으며 영산호에서 낮았다. 3개호소의 여름, 가을 연평균 영양상태는 평균적으로 영산호>동복호>주암호 순으로 영산호에서 높았다. 주암호와 동복호에서는 TSI (CHL)>TSI (SD)>TSI (TP) 순으로 나타나 조류성장에 있어 인산염이 제한영양염으로 작용할 가능성을 나타내었으며 영산호에서는 TSI (TP)>TSI (SD)>TSI (CHL) 순으로 나타났다. 영산호에서는 인산염에 의한 제한보다는 탁도 즉 광량에 의한 제한이 식물플랑크톤의 성장에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단된다. 주암호는 빈, 중영양을 보였으며, 동복호에서는 중, 부영양을 영산호에서는 부, 과영양을 보였다.

도암호에서 하절기 수질의 장기적인 경향 (Long-term Trends of Summer Season of Water Quality in Lake Doam)

  • In the summer season (June~August) during the study period of Lake Doam, average concentrations of major water quality parameters, COD, SS, TN, and TP were 4.0, 16.2, 3.129 and $0.077mg\;L^{-1}$, respectively, and Chl-a was $11.8mg\;m^{-3}$. The result has indicated that Lake Doam was a meso-eutrotrophic lake. Lake Doam data from the summer season (June~August), precipitation from 2001 to 2012, and water quality (COD, SS, TN, TP, Chl-a etc.) of seven years (2001, 2002, 2004 and 2009~2012), were statistically analyzed for long-term trends by Mann-Kendall test and Sen's slope estimator methods. The statistical results showed that precipitation, SD, COD, TN, $NO_3-N$, $NH_3-N$ and Chl-a had decreasing trends, and EC, turbidity, SS, TP and DIP had increasing trends. Suspended solids and total phosphorus were directly affected by precipitation. In the case of suspended solids, more aggressive and constructive plans need to be implemented than the current turbidity reduction project to achieve the targeted water quality ($5mg\;L^{-1}$ of SS) in Lake Doam. In particular, we need to specify a project that considers the steep topographic characteristics of high, land farming areas and precipitation conditions of the Lake Doam watershed, which can increase the efficiency of a turbidity reduction project.

주암호의 조류 출현종 및 거동 분석 (Analysis of Algal Species and Movements in Juam Lake)

  • Juam Lake is a major water resource for the industrial and agricultural activities as well as for the resident life of Kwangju and Chonnam regions. However, the water quality of the lake is getting worse due to a large quantity of pollutant inflowing to the lake. The excessive growth of algae by the overfertilization may result in water treatment problems and also the interference with desirable water uses of navigation, aesthetics, recreation and fish maintenance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze algal species and movements in Juam Lake in order to use as basic data in making the countermeasure to achieve the water quality goal of the lake. The results of the analysis show that (1) the predominant species of algae are Microcystis aeruginosa, Anabaena affinis, Melosira granulata, Synedra acus, and Coelastrum cambricum, (2) their groups are changed in order of diatoms, green algae, and blue-green algae with the lapse of time, and (3) the distance of the vertical movements of algae for 24 hours is about 2m.

Identification and characterization of fish breeding habitats on Lake Kyoga as an approach to sustainable fisheries management

  • Nile perch and Nile tilapia are major commercial species in Uganda, and thus require continuous production. However, their production is impacted by anthropogenic activities such as fishing in breeding habitats. The aim of this study was to identify and characterize Nile perch and Nile tilapia fish breeding habitats on Lake Kyoga. Water quality, lake bottom, fish and vegetation type samples were collected from 20 sites in April of 2021 and 2022. Key informant interviews were conducted with experienced fishermen at five fish landing sites. The water quality parameters indicated significant difference within the sites using analysis of variance. Sandy and muddy bottom types were equally spread at 40% each by use of a pie chart. Fish gonads showed no significant difference among the 20 sites. Bivariate correlation analysis of the vegetation types indicated a strong negative correlation with Nile perch while Nile tilapia had a positive correlation. Principal component analysis of the water quality, fish gonads and habitat vegetation components cumulatively contributed 82.5% in characterizing a fish breeding habitat. Four sites for Nile perch and four sites for Nile tilapia were characterized as breeding sites on Lake Kyoga and are recommended for mapping and gazettement as breeding habitats for sustainable fisheries management.

부영양 신갈지에서 천연물질 혼합제(PMC)의 수질개선능: 현장수온의 영향 (Effect of Temperature on Water Quality Improvement of Natural Plant-Mineral Composites (PMC) in a Eutrophic Lake, Lake Shingal, Korea)

  • 부영양호 신갈지의 수질개선을 위하여 이미 개발된 천연물질 혼합제(PMC)의 수질개선능(WQI)에 수온변화가 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 현장실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과 식물플랑크톤, BOD, 총인 등은 $20^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 70% WQI 이상을 보였으나 $25^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는 40% WQI 이하로 오히려 감소하였다. 한편 수온의 증가에 따라 남조류에 대해서는 WQI는 감소하였고, 규조류는 수온변화에 상관없이 90% 이상 높은 WQI를 나타냈으며, 박테리아와 총 질소는 수온과 상관없이 매우 낮은 WQI를 보였다. 이상의 결과들은 PMC의 수질개선능이 수온과 밀접한 관계를 가지며, $25^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온기에 Microcystis aeruginosa가 우점하는 남조대발생보다 겨울철 저온기에 우점하는 규조류에 더 효과적일 것으로 판단되었다.
