  • In this paper, the properties of Galois fields defined over any finite field are analysed to derive Galois switching functions and the arithmetic operation methods over any finite field are showed. The polynomial expansions over finite fields by Lagrange's interpolation method are derived and proved. The results are applied to multivalued single variable logic networks.

  • This article is concerned with container pose estimation using CCD a camera and a range sensor. In particular, the issues of characteristic point extraction and image noise reduction are described. The Euler-Lagrange equation for gaussian and random noise reduction is introduced. The alternating direction implicit(ADI) method for solving Euler-Lagrange equation based on partial differential equation(PDE) is applied. The vertex points as characteristic points of a container and a spreader are founded using k order curvature calculation algorithm since the golden and the bisection section algorithm can't solve the local minimum and maximum problems. The proposed algorithm in image preprocess is effective in image denoise. Furthermore, this proposed system using a camera and a range sensor is very low price since the previous system can be used without reconstruction.

  • For the analysis of combustion instabilities of a liquid locket engine, a simple spray combustion model has been analyzed by the Euler-Lagrange method. Gas temperature, droplet trajectory, and droplet radius have been evaluated on 2-D axisymmetric coordinates. The Euler-Lagrange method has been shown to have a good tendency of gas temperature distribution as well as droplet trajectory and radius change.

  • 광학설계의 최적화에서는 최소자승법과 감쇠최소자승법이 주로 사용되고 있다. 최소자승법은 error의 제곱의 합을 최소화하는 방법으로, 이 방법은 최적점 부근에서의 불안정성이 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 감쇠최소자자승법은 최소자승법에 적절한 감쇠항을 부가함으로써 최적점 부근에서의 불안정성을 줄여주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 광학설계의 제한조건을 Lagrange 부정승수$^{(1)}$ 를 사용하여 감쇠최소자승법의 정규방정식에 결합하여 제한조건을 유지하면서 merit function을 줄이는 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. 이 방법에서는 제한조건이 merit function의 error 함수보다 우선적으로 보정되며, 이를 이용하여 매 iteration 마다 merit function에서 절대값이 큰 error를 감쇠최소자승법의 정규방정식에서 제거하고 이 보정조건을 제한조건에 추가함으로서 다른 error항 보다 우선적으로 보정되도록 하였다. 이 때 이 error를 한번에 보정하는 경우에는 merit function의 진동이 심하고 광학계가 사용불가능한 형태로 변화하는 경우가 많아 적절한 target ratio를 설정하여 반복과정을 통하여 점진적으로 보정되도록 하였으며, 이를 통하여 최적화의 안정성을 개선할 수 있었다. Derivation of Extended Mild-Slope Equation Using Euler-Lagrange Equation (Euler-Lagrange 식을 사용한 확장형 완경사방정식 유도)

  • In this study, we derive the extended mild-slope equation in terms of the velocity potential using the Euler-Lagrange equation. First, we follow Kim and Bai (2004) who derive the complementary mild-slope equation in terms of the stream function using the Euler-Lagrange equation and we compare their equation to the existing extended mild-slope equations of the velocity potential. Second, we derive the extended mild-slope equation in terms of the velocity potential using the Euler-Lagrange equation. In the developed equation, the higher-order bottom variation terms are newly developed and found to be the same as those of Massel (1993) and Chamberlain and Porter (1995). The present study makes wide the area of coastal engineering by developing the extended mild-slope equation with a way which has never been used before.

  • The optimization of many engineering design problems requires a nonlinear programming algorithm that is robust and efficient. A general-purpose nonlinear optimization program IDOL (Interactive Design Optimization Library) is developed based on the Augmented Lagrange Mulitiplier (ALM) method. The ideas of selecting a good initial design point, using resonable initial values for Lagrange multipliers, constraints scaling, descent vector restarting, and dynamic stopping criterion are employed for computational enhancement to the ALM method. A descent vector is determined by using the Broydon-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS) method. For line search, the Incremental-Search method is first used to find bounds on the solution, then the bounds are reduced by the Golden Section method, and finally a cubic polynomial approximation technique is applied to locate the next design point. Seven typical test problems are solved to show IDOL efficient and robust.

  • This paper presents a new design method of optimal control of system which are changed the system parameters. The method used for this purpose are the Lagrange interpolation method and Pole's Moving range method. We selects a system within the scope of the changing the system parameters. Using pole's moving range we calculated the state weighting matrix of optimal control. The optimal controller is designed by Lagrange interpolation method of the state weighting matrix. We are compared with a traditional optimal controller and proposed method by simulation. The simulation showed that the proposed method is better control performance than traditional method of optimal controller.

  • 본 논문에서는 사전등화를 이용하는 상향링크 MC-CDMA(multicarrier-code division multiple access)/TDD(time division duplexing) 시스템에서 사전등화를 위한 상향링크 채널을 추정하는 방법들을 제안하고 시스템의 성능분석을 수행한다. 제안된 방법들에서는 하향링크 슬롯구간에서의 채널변화를 적절한 차수의 다항식으로 모델링하고, 이 다항식을 상향링크 슬롯구간으로 확장함으로써 상향링크 슬롯구간의 채널을 추정한다. 하향링크 슬롯구간에서의 채널변화는 MMSE(minimum mean squared error)curve fitting 방법이나 Lagrange 보간법 등이 사용되며 1차, 2차, 3차 다항식으로 근사화 된다. 성능지표로 정확도보다 시스템 성능이 중요 하므로 BER (bit error rate)을 사용한다. 다양한 시스템 및 채널환경에서의 모의실험 결과로부터 Lagrange 보간법은 하향링크 채널정보가 정확한 경우에는 MMSE 방법보다 성능이 다소 우수하지만 하향링크 채널추정 오류에 매우 민감하며, 2 차 다항식을 사용한 MMSE curve fitting 방법은 다양한 환경에서 우수한 성능을 가질 뿐만 아니라 채널추정 오류에도 매우 강인함을 알 수 있다.

  • The simplified model for 3-dimensional analysis of vehicle-bridge interactions is presented in this study. By using the analysis model which includes the eccentricity of axle loads and the effect of the torsional forces acting on the bridge, the more accurate analysis results of the behavior of the bridge can be obtained. The equations of kinetic energy, potential energy and damping energy are expressed by degrees of freedom of the vehicle and the bridge. And then by applying Lagrange's equations of motion, the equations of motion of the vehicle and the bridge are obtained. By deriving the equations of forces acting on the bridge considering the vehicle-bridge vertical interactions and also by identifying the position of vehicle as time goes by, mass matrix, stiffness matrix, damping matrix and load vector of vehicle-bridge system are constructed in accordance with the position of vehicles. Then using Newmark's β-method(average acceleration), the equations of motion for the total vehicle bridge system are solved.
