  • Recently, a variety of new transportation systems have been developed or introduced, but there has been a lot of confusion in the selection process of systems because there is no such domestic cases, and a lack of information on the systems. It does not make sense to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the systems in a single frame because each system has different characteristics and purposes. It is important to compare the relative values of the systems considering the status of the project site, transport demand, costs, and environmental aspects of cities. In the present paper, the operational system and infrastructure technologies of the bimodal tram developed in Korea were investigated. Based on this, the values for the bimodal tram was compared with similar new transportation systems through several practice cases. It is expected to promote in the practical use of the bimodal tram through this study.

  • Effective implementation of private subsidy projects requires comprehensive expertise in the aquaculture and construction sectors to be provided to private subsidy operators, local government officials and others involved in budget execution and settlement. Due to the strengthening of laws and systems related to the execution of state subsidies since 2015, the efficient implementation of private-sector grant projects has been difficult for delays in projects, cancellations, and conflicts with local governments from lack of prior awareness and understanding of related regulations. It is expected that the government will be able to activate the project by analyzing the current status and problems of each phase of project implementation for improving quality internalization of the project effects, as well as quantitative growth of the private sector subsidy project for environmentally friendly aquaculture development projects.

  • In recent years, the cutting and banking areas along the railway in Korea are exposed to the erosion problem during every year. The reinforcement is a composite construction material in which the strength of engineering fill is enhanced by the addition of strong tensile reinforcement in many different types. Various problems of the railway infrastructure have occurred due to the differential settlement, frost heaving, mud pumping, lack of bearing capacity, partially loss of embankment. In advanced countries, railway roadbed reinforcement is applied to solve these problems on railway roadbed. This paper presents the solution of such problems by means of the engineering works incorporated with railway reinforcement infrastructures such as geotextile bag method, existing grouting method, geocell, reinforced earth, soil nailing and so on.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to review the research in the cyclic treatment of endometriosis in traditional Korean medicine. Methods: By October 2019, the relevant studies on the periodic therapy of endometriosis were searched using the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI) and Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS). Results: Finally, three Randomized controlled trials, one case study, two clinical observational studies were selected. In all studies, herbal medicine periodic therapy has been effective in improving symptoms of endometriosis. Blood-activating and stasis-dispelling medicinal were the most commonly used before menstruation and during menstruation, and tonifying and replenishing medicinal were the most commonly used after menstruation. According to the one study, which reported safety, herbal medicine was safe. Conclusions: Although limited due to a lack of literature, periodic therapy is effective in improving endometriosis related symptoms and preventing recurrence. A well-designed study and experimental studies for the identification of the mechanism are needed.

  • The current downturn of BIPV sector has an enormous potential to rebound and expand into the PV sector for construction market in the foreseeable future. Solar technology has already gained a significant market due to lack of natural resources in the Korean domestic market. Given the technical infrastructure of state-of-the-art fusion technology, the competitiveness of software-driven BIPV market in the world can be ver attractive and have the potential to develop as a key national technology. To do this, from the viewpoint of complexity, technical R&D, national political aspect, social aspect, economic aspect and institutional support systems need to be parallelly formulated. A dedicated BIPV sector has not yet been established, especially policy and institutional framework have very crucial impact on the establishment of BIPV sector.

  • In the world, the construction science and technology industry has developed strongly thanks to the application of Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) technology, with a strength greater than 150 Mpa and unprecedented durability. compared to previous materials. However, this technology can build special structures but has limited use in construction because it is not commercially feasible to replace regular concrete in most structural types due to material costs. high, lack of availability, limited design standards, complex manufacturing and maintenance techniques. This article examines the composition of UHPC materials and their performance in composite structures with conventional concrete, a promising choice for promoting the development of UHPC technology in construction. It is based on the combined use of UHPC as a covering layer around normal concrete or as an inner core to increase the strength of normal concrete, create a slender structure and reduce the cost and repair of construction works. Construction and transport infrastructure are degraded. Manufacturing costs are expected to be reduced with composite construction due to the advantages of combined materials.

  • Comprehensive rural village development projects were launched by MAF(Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry) and KARICO (Korea Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Cooperation). Since 2004, they received much attention for rural development policy, such as the bottom-up approach, inducing participation of residents and enhancing regional capacity. However, there still remain several problems to be solved. The purpose of this study was to suggest methodologies to facilitate residents' participation in comprehensive rural village development projects by literature review. The core problems of comprehensive rural village development projects in the planning stage were the conflicts among residents and the lack of resident capacity for rural development. Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations were made to facilitate the residents' participation. In order to reinforce the residents' participation, the mediating skills of conflicts among residents and the strategies for strengthening the residents' capacity should be introduced in comprehensive rural village development projects.

  • This study was carried out to identify the problems and policy alternatives for the improvement of living conditions and environmentally friendly agriculture. The results of surveys on the current situations of living conditions in the rural areas revealed that the main cause of depopulation in Korean rural villages was the lack of social infrastructure and income sources. The current government policies for agriculture geared mainly for improvement of international comparative competitiveness will result in the further disadvantage against the mountainous regions with marginal agricultural lands. Therefore, it is recommended that the agricultural policy should be complemented by the environmental and social policies in the less favoured areas. This can be justified by the fact that the demand for environmental public goods such as recreational opportunities in rural settings uncontaminated by the industrial wastes is growing.

  • Despite the large and ongoing investments in information systems and technologies, many organizations still suffer from the lack of integration and interoperability of multiple information systems, In order to deal with these enduring problems, a number of government organizations and corporate firms in the United States have developed and maintained IT architectures through enterprise architecture planning. An IT architecture is a decision-making framework for IT planners and developers, establishing guidelines for the individual IT resource owners and users. It provides guidance to those involved in building and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure. Enterprise architecture planning represents a new paradigm of information systems planning in that it addresses the long-term view of the enterprise organization from top-level principles to detailed technology architectures. This paper explores a couple of cases in the successful implementation of IT architectures in both public and private sectors, and proposes a step-by-step methodology for building an effective IT architecture.

  • Advances in electronics and wireless communication technologies have enabled the development of large-scale wireless sensor networks (WSNs). There are numerous applications for wireless sensor networks, and security is vital for many of them. However, WSNs suffer from many constraints, including low computation capability, small memory, limited energy resources, susceptibility to physical capture, and the lack of infrastructure, all of which impose unique security challenges and make innovative approaches desirable. In this paper, we present a survey on security issues in wireless sensor networks. We address several network models for security protocols in WSNs, and explore the state of the art in research on the key distribution and management schemes, typical attacks and corresponding countermeasures, entity and message authentication protocols, security data aggregation, and privacy. In addition, we discuss some directions of future work.
