  • Pregancy is a part of women's life and is common process experienced by most women. On the other hand, a few cannot be pregnant. There are many reasons of infertility and myoma uteri of pelvic mass is a rare reason of infertility. Complication of pregnancy accompanied with myoma uteri is largely affected by the size or location of mass and the incidence by myoma uteri in pregnancy rarely happened, but mass with long pedunculus causes torsion as uterus is getting bigger. In labor myoma uteri causes the abnormal condition of fetal presentation and results in the abnormal childbirth. In case of myoma uteri, maternal mortality is low and there by medical hazards also decrease, but as the life insurance medical is the extensive prediction science, we believe that the prediction of perinatal or the condition of afterbirth by knowing the location, size of myoma uteri contributes to the medical examination. We experienced one case of Elderly primigravida with myoma uteri in Med Dept of Dae Han Kyouk life Insurance Co. Ltd. which the insured with medical examination believe herself as menopause. So we report the observations with studies.

산재보험 적용의 실효성 제고방안 : 근로자의 재해대응유형 및 원인분석을 중심으로 (The Study on the Enhancement of Effectiveness of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance's Application : Focusing on the Employee's Corresponding Types and Casual Analysis)

  • This paper is to investigate the employees' corresponding types and casual analysis. It proposes the legal and practical measures for improvement of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance's usability. The results from the empirical analysis indicate that (1) 91.4 percent of the respondents feel the necessity of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance, (2) 67.4 percent of the respondents perceive that Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance is useful, (3) employers' perceptions of the specific items of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance appears to be low. (4) 35.9 percent of the respondents deal with industrial accidents through other ways such as health insurance and car insurance. The study ends with discussion of the findings and provides several theoretical and managerial implications and recommendations for future research and applications.

Disability and Occupational Labor Transitions: Evidence from South Korea

  • We examine how certain occupational physical requirements affect labor transitions of disabled workers by exploiting a unique feature of South Korean Disability Insurance (DI), where award rules are based solely on an applicant's medical condition, independent of his previous occupations. We estimate the labor market response to a health shock by constructing a physical intensity measure from ONET and applying it to longitudinal South Korean household panel data. Our results suggest that health shocks initially lead to a 14 to 20 percent drop in employment and that this effect is greater for workers who previously held physically demanding occupations. Those who remain part of the labor market exhibit higher occupational mobility toward less physically demanding jobs. These findings imply that the magnitudes of income risks associated with health shocks vary depending on occupational and skill characteristics.

Emotional and Cognitive Determinants of Retail Salespersons' Emotional Labor and Adaptive Selling Behavior

  • Purpose: The role of salespersons' emotions in effective selling behavior garners attention among scholars and practitioners. Previous studies have investigated the effects of emotional intelligence and emotional labor on sales success separately. However, to understand the whole process, the relationships among salespersons' cognition, emotions, and behaviors should be considered simultaneously. Accordingly, we uniquely examined how salespersons' emotional intelligence (emotional antecedent) and customer orientation (cognitive antecedent) influence their emotional labor (deep acting vs. surface acting), adaptive selling behavior, and the selling results in the retail environment. Research design, data, and methodology: To improve methodological rigor, we used the dyadic approach. We measured 182 salespersons' emotional intelligence, customer orientation, and emotional labor, and 364 customers assessed the salespersons' adaptive selling behavior and selling results in the insurance and duty-free department retailing sectors. Result: The findings suggest that salespersons' customer orientation and emotional intelligence relate to deep-acting of emotional labor, affecting their adaptive selling behavior and relationship quality with customers. Conclusions: As for managerial implications, sales managers may well consider emotional intelligence levels when selecting salespersons in the retail industry. Additionally, practical training programs are required to cultivate customer orientation, emotional intelligence, and deep acting while performing emotional labor.

저소득층 자녀를 위한 의료비지원이 여성노동공급에 미치는 영향: 미국의 저소득층 자녀를 위한 의료보험프로그램 사례 (The Effect of Public Medical Support for Children on Single Mother's Labor Supply)

  • 이 논문은 미국에서 1997년에 새롭게 제공된 "저소득층의 어린이와 임산부를 위한 의료지출 보조프로그램"이 미혼모 또는 편모 가정의 모친의 노동공급에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 1999년부터 2005년까지의 CPS(Current Population Survey)의 여성노동인구 자료를 사용하였다. Probit 모델과 Heckman Two-Step Model을 사용하여 통계분석을 해본 결과, 의료지출 보조프로그램과 평균 노동시간은 통계적으로 유의한 정(正)의 상관관계를 나타내었고, 노동시장 참여는 비유의적인 통계 결과를 발견하였다.

Workers' Compensation Insurance and Occupational Injuries

  • Objectives: Although compensation for occupational injuries and diseases is guaranteed in almost all nations, countries vary greatly with respect to how they organize workers' compensation systems. In this paper, we focus on three aspects of workers' compensation insurance in Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries - types of systems, employers' funding mechanisms, and coverage for injured workers - and their impacts on the actual frequencies of occupational injuries and diseases. Methods: We estimated a panel data fixed effect model with cross-country OECD and International Labor Organization data. We controlled for country fixed effects, relevant aggregate variables, and dummy variables representing the occupational accidents data source. Results: First, the use of a private insurance system is found to lower the occupational accidents. Second, the use of risk-based pricing for the payment of employer raises the occupational injuries and diseases. Finally, the wider the coverage of injured workers is, the less frequent the workplace accidents are. Conclusion: Private insurance system, fixed flat rate employers' funding mechanism, and higher coverage of compensation scheme are significantly and positively correlated with lower level of occupational accidents compared with the public insurance system, risk-based funding system, and lower coverage of compensation scheme.

노동수요 측면의 임금보조정책 연구 (A Study on Demand-side Wage Subsidy)

  • 고용창출효과를 제고하기 위해서 노동 수요 측면의 임금보조를 현행 세액공제 방식에서 사회보험료감면 방식으로 대체해야 한다는 주장이 지속적으로 제기되고 있는 상황에서, 본 연구는 이론분석을 통해 이러한 주장의 타당성을 과학적으로 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 분석 결과, 사회보험료감면 방식의 우월 여부는 사회보험 사각지대 존재 여부에 따라 다르게 나타나는데, 사각지대가 존재하지 않는 경우 사회보험료감면 방식이 고용창출 측면에서 세액공제 방식보다 우월하나, 사각지대가 존재하는 경우에는 사회보험료감면 방식의 우월성이 보장될 수 없다. 따라서 사회보험료감면 방식의 우월성을 구현하기 위해서는 사회보험 사각지대를 최소화함으로써 모든 기업이 임금보조 혜택을 받을 수 있는 토대를 마련하는 것이 긴요하다. 또한 기업별 고용여건(임금수준, 고용반응도 등)을 고려하여 감면비율을 차등적용함으로써 고용창출효과 극대화를 도모할 필요가 있다.

감정노동 종사자의 건강 모형 (Development of a Model for Emotional Labor Worker's Health)

  • Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to build up model of the emotional labor worker's health. Methods: Data was collected from 230 emotional labor workers from 2 department stores, 2 insurance companies, and 3 hotels located in Seoul and Kyung-gi areas, by the health managers and team leaders. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, pearson correlation, factor analysis and covariance structure analysis were used by SPSS window 10 version and AMOS 4.01. Results: The hypothetical model showed a goodness-of-fit to the empirical data(GFI=0.90, RMR=0.04, NFI= 0.79, PNFI=0.64). Eight out of fifteen paths of the model were accepted, while the other seven paths rejected. : From 'surface acting' to 'health', from 'social support' to 'surface acting', from 'social support' to 'health', from 'factors of organizational culture' to 'surface acting', from 'factors of organizational culture' to 'deep acting', from 'personal factor' to 'social support', from 'factors of organizational culture' to 'social support', from 'routine stress' to 'social support'. In conclusion, it has been confirmed that surface acting and social support were dominating factors to the health of emotional labor workers. Conclusion: In order to manage the health of emotional labor workers, it is imperative to develop a strategy to reduce their surface acting.

교육훈련기관 유형별 청년층 취업률 분석 (Employment Rate of the Youth in Korea: An Analysis by Types of Education and Training Institutes)

  • 이 글에서는 청년층의 노동시장 이행 실태를 취업률에 국한하여 교육훈련기관 유형별로 비교 분석하였다. 이를 위해 각급 교육훈련기관의 졸업생 명단과 고용보험 DB를 결합, 직업력 자료를 구축하여 활용하였다. 또한 4년제대학과 전문대학의 경우에는 수능점수를 확보하여 분석에 이용함으로써, 개인의 능력을 나타내는 주요 변수로서의 수능점수의 노동시장 효과에 대한 검토가 가능하였다. 실증 결과에 따르면, 교육훈련기관간에 취업률의 차이가 존재하며 교육기간이 길어질수록 취업 성과가 양호한 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 4년제 대학의 경우 수도권 소재 여부가 취업률에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 수능점수가 노동시장 성과에 미치는 효과가 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 한편 전공에 따라 취업성과에 유의한 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
