Intravenous (IV) injection is widely used to supply Ringer solution directly into a vein in hospital. Generally, a passive injection method has been used, which causes the inconsistent flow rate of fluid and inappropriate control of injection time by a patient. It leads to an unnecessary nurse's overwork and decrement of IV injection's effect. To solve these problems, flow control infusion pumps have been developed. But because of relatively heavy weight and high price, its usage has been limited. In the present study, a new automatic IV injection system is developed. It is installed with a small pressing mechanism driven by a small electric motor to regulate the flow rate by pressing tube. Proportional integral derivative (PID) feedback control algorithm is applied to control the electric motor. The system is smaller in size and uses lower power than the existing commercial product. The newly developed system is also installed with networking capability, which enables monitoring the status of several automatic IV injection system at the same time.
Magnetization of permanent magnet in the strong magnetic field is changeable. So the change of magnetization must be considered for the accurate analysis of the system with permanent magnets. But the hysteresis characteristice of permanent magnet cannot be represented in simple mathematical form. In this paper, Preisach model combined with finite element method which can describe the hysteresis phenomena is applied to analyze the permanent magnet system. To validate the method, it is applied to the force calculations between two magnets with different coercivities and the numerical results are compared with measured data.

This paper proposes command signal generating method for a wearable robot using the force as the input signal. The basic concept of this system pursues the combination of the natural and sophisticated intelligence of human with the powerful motion capability of the robot. We define a task for the command signal generation to operate with the human body simultaneously, paying attention to comfort and ease of wear. In this study, we suggest a basic exoskeleton experimental system to evaluate a HRI(Human Robot Interface), selecting interfaces of arm braces on both wrists and a weight harness on the torso to connect the robot and human. We develop the HRI to provide a command for the robot motion. It connects between the human and the robot with the multi-axis load-cell, and it measures the relative force between the human and the robot. The control system calculates the trajectory of end-effector using this force signal. In this paper, we verify the performance of proposed system through the motion of elbow E/F(Extension/Flexion), the shoulder E/F and the shoulder Ab/Ad (Abduction/Adduction).

This study demonstrated the feasibility of using tape-casting followed by sintering as a low-cost alternative for coating glass-ceramic or glass film on a metal substrate. The process has been successfully used to fabricate a glass-on-stainless steel and a glass-ceramic-on-molybdenum electrostatic chuck(ESC) with the insulating layer thickness about $150{\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Electrical resistivity data of the coaling were obtained between room temperature and 55$0^{\circ}C$; although the resistivity values dropped rapidly with increasing temperature in both coatings, the glass-ceramic still retained a high value of $10^{10}$ ohm-cm at $500^{\circ}C$. Clamping pressure measurements were done using a mechanical apparatus equipped with a load-cell at temperatures up to $350^{\circ}C$ and applied voltages up to 600V; the clamping behavior of all ESCs generally followed the voltage-squared curve as predicted by theory. Based on these results, we believe that we have a viable technology for manufacturing ESCs for use in reactive-ion etch systems.

To meet the high current load requirement from the high energy density realized by metal oxide and high power density graphite, we propose a novel hybrid supercapacitor consisting of Nb2O5 and KS6 graphite in 1.0 M LiPF6-EC:DEC (1:2). This new system exhibits a sloping voltage profile from 2.7 to 3.5 V during charging and presents a high operating voltage plateau between 1.5 and 3.5 V during discharging. The cell was tested at a current density of 100 mA/g with a cut-off voltage between 3.0 and 1.0 V. This novel energy storage system delivers the highest initial discharge capacity of 55 mAh/g and exhibits a good cycle performance.

Ths paper presents an algorithm of detecting eccentricity signal and diagnosing the cause in rolling process. A designed technique uses only the outputs of load cell and tachorreter, which are generally utilized in rolling process, and need not any acklitional sensors. Detecting signals related to eccentricity is done by combining outputs of 6 digital bandPass filters whose center frequency are varied with roll's rotating frequency. A function of diagnosing the cause of occentricity from extracted data having occentricity components is implemented by defining reasonable variables. In order to show validity of an algorithm designed in this paper, simulation was accomplished for three groups. The first is that some portion of roll in the direction of roll circumference is distorted. The second is that rotating axis and roll center is not identical. The third is that composite cause is occmed Simulation results show that every kind of eccentricity can be diagnosed in terms of algorithm proposed.oposed.
This study presents a new interleaved three-level zero-voltage switching (ZVS) converter for high-voltage and high-current applications. Two circuit cells are operated with interleaved pulse-width modulation in the proposed converter to reduce the current ripple at the input and output sides, as well as to decrease the current rating of output inductors for high-load-current applications. Each circuit cell includes one half-bridge converter and one three-level converter at the primary side. At the secondary side, the transformer windings of two converters are connected in series to reduce the size of the output inductor or switching current in the output capacitor. Based on the three-level circuit topology, the voltage stress of power switches is clamped at $V_{in}/2$. Thus, MOSFETs with 500 V voltage rating can be used at 800 V input voltage converters. The output capacitance of the power switch and the leakage inductance (or external inductance) are resonant at the transition interval. Therefore, power switches can be turned on under ZVS. Finally, experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.
The design problem of the AGC (Automatic Gauge Control) without a gauge-meter and a load-cell for a reversing rolling mill will be considered in this paper. The proposed controller in this paper is designed using only the linearly approximated relationships between a roll gab, a metal thickness and a pressing force. The data transfer delaying can be released by using these relationships. To show the validity of the proposed control method, the results of the computer simulation and the mathematical analysis will be presented in this paper.
In this study, impact force and angular displacement of the pendulum were measured by the load cell and potentiometer. Mechanical behavior of rough rice under impact loading was able to analyze precisely and efficiently, because measured data were accumulated and handled by the automatic data acquisition system making use of microcomputer system. Impact force and angular displacement were measured with a resolutiln of 1/1500 seconds in time. Mechanical behavior such as force and energy at rupture point of Japonica type and Indica type rough rice were measured with this system. After impact loading, the damage of rough rice was examined with the microphotograph and an allowable impact force was measured. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows. 1. Machanical behavior of rough rice under impact loading was analyzed precisely and efficiently because measured data were accumulated and handled by this data acquisition system. 2. Rupture force and rupture energy of rough rice were appeared to be the lowest value in the range of 16 to 18 % moisture content, and rupture force and rupture energy of Japonica type were higher than those of Indica type in each level of moisture content. 3. From the result of the damage examined after the impact loading, allowable impact force was the lowest in the range of 16 to 18 % moisture content, and the value of the allowable impact force of Japonica type was higher than that of Indica type in each level of moisture content.
This study was performed to design and to construct a digital soil cone index(CI) measuring device replacing conventional analog type devices. The device developed in the study consisted of a load cell, a rotary encoder and a motor with a decelerator as its main parts. The cone speed was controlled lower than 3.0 m/s which keeps the standard suggested by the ASABE S313.3 specification. The experiment was conducted in a soil bin system as well as in various fields. The CI data measured by the developed device were compared with those by an existing measurement device(SC900, Spectrum, USA). Based on the experiments at various field conditions, the CI measuring characteristic of the device was quite similar to that of the conventional device within a acceptable $R^2$ range of more than 0.5(mean=0.76). It was concluded that the digital cone index measuring device was an effective and comprehensive sensor for measuring soil strength.
