  • To investigate how Jagamchotang provent cellular injury by a certain starting point on reperfusion injury after ischemia in myocardial cell, conducted MTT assay, LM stydy and measured LDH secretion, heart rate and nitric oxide(NO), and got the following results. 1. Jagamchotang did not injure cells even in $20{\mu}g/ml$. 2. Jaganchotang repressed the toxicity of mitochondria and cell membrane in reperfusing after ischemia and repressed the contraction of promontory of myocardial cell and reduction of the number of cells. Also maintained regular heart rate and reduced the number of heart rate. 3. Synthesis of NO by Jagamchotang in ischemia increased 1.9 times than a control. 4. When reperfusing with sodium nitropruside (SNO), NO donor in ischemia repressed the toxicity of mitochondria as the case of reperfusing with Jagamchotang in ischemia. Therefore, putting these findings together, it. can be said the effect of Jagamchotang in ischemia will be closely related with generation of NO.

  • Low-fat sausages (LFS) containing various levels (0, 0.3, and 0.6%) of activated lactoferrin (ALF) which was prepared by dialysis to chelate irons of native lactoferrin, were manufactured and measured the physicochemical and textural properties, and shelf-life effect during refrigerated storage ($8^{\circ}C$). LFSs contained 72-16% moisture, 1-2% fat, 12-14% protein and a pH range of 6.04-6.08. No differences in physico-chemical and textural properties were observed with the increased ALF (p>0.05). Microbial growth of Listeria monocytogenes (LM), which inoculated at the levels of $10^4$ CFU/g, was increased with increased storage time. ALF at the amount of 0.6% slightly inhibited the microbial growth on the LFS (p<0.05), as compared to those of LFSs without ALF, however it had lower antimicrobial activity than those of 3.3% sodium lactate. These results indicated that the addition of ALF at the level of 0.6% affected the antibacterial activity of LFSs, resulting in the suppression of microbial growth in LFSs without quality defects.

  • To improve muscle quality and prolong freshness of sashimi, the effects of freezing-thawing condition on physicochemical and rheological properties of plaice muscle were investigated. Muscle tested were frozen with quick freezing (liquid nitrogen gas) or slow freezing ($-15^{\circ}C$ air). Transition time of zone of ice crystal formation was within 10 minute for quick freezing and 110 minute for slow freezing. Time required for thawing to $0^{\circ}C$ in muscle temperature by various thawing methods was shortest with $25^{\circ}C$ tap water, followed by $15^{\circ}C$ tap water, $10^{\circ}C$ tap water, $25^{\circ}C$ air, $5^{\circ}C$ tap water and $0^{\circ}C$ cold water. Breaking strength of muscle was higher in quickly frozen sample than in slowly frozen sample. According to sashimi term, changes in breaking strength of muscle did not show any difference in quickly frozen sample, while showed significant difference in slowly frozen sample. The remaining content of ATP was not effected by freezing speed, and ATP content was apt to higher in quickly thawed sample than in slowly thawed sample. IMP was the majority of ATP and it's related compounds of sample after freezing and thawing. Collagen matrix was weakened markedly in slowly frozen sample than in quickly frozen sample.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the misconceptions and errors incurred during factorization learning. We also examined whether online individualization classes had a positive effect on students' mathematical achievement. The experiment was conducted for 4 weeks (16 times in total) on middle school juniors in rural areas of Gyeonggi Province, where the influence of private extra education was small. In the class, the 'Google Classroom' was used as a LMS, the video lecture was uploaded to YouTube, and the teacher interacted with the students through "Zoom" and "Facetalk". In the online class situation, students' assignments and test answers were checked in real time through 'Google Classroom', and immediate feedback was provided to the experimental class group's students. However, for the control group students, feedback was provided only to those who desired. A total of 7 achievement evaluations were conducted in the order of pre-test, formative evaluation (5 times), and post-test to confirm the change in students' ability improvement and achievement. Through the formative evaluation analysis, it was possible to grasp the types of errors and misconceptions that occured during the factorization process. Students' errors were divided into four types: theorem or definition distortion error, functional errors such as calculation, operation, and manipulation, errors that do not verify the solution, and no response. As a result of ANCOVA, the two groups did not show any difference from the 1st to 4th formative assessment. However, the 5th formative assessment and post-test showed statistically significant differences, confirming that online individualization classes contributed to improvemed achievement.

  • The hydroxyl radical (·OH) and superoxide anion radical (·O2- ) generated by the shock wave generated during ultrasonic cavitation collapse in TiO2 suspension are highly useful because they can sterilize and disinfect. For practical use as a sterilization method without any chemicals, in this study, we proposed a method for evaluating the generation of radicals generated by high-intensity ultrasound emitted to titanium dioxide suspension. In the proposed method, the sonoluminescence phenomenon, which emits light by ultrasonic cavitation decay energy, was utilized, and the degree of radical generation was evaluated through the amount of light energy by sonoluminescence. As a result, even at a low concentration of titanium dioxide of 0.02 wt%, light energy 5 times higher than in the absence of titanium dioxide was received. After that, as the concentration increased by 0.1 wt%, the luminous intensity of sonoluminescence increased linearly by about 14.8 × 10-12 lm. Therefore, it was confirmed that the radicals generated by radiating high-intensity ultrasound to the titanium dioxide suspension increased linearly as the concentration of titanium dioxide increased within a given concentration range.

  • The genus Navicula, with its notably high species diversity, is one of the most important genera of the diatom assemblages of the tidal flats. In the present study, Navicula spartinetensis was firstly observed from Yellow Sea including both of Korean and Chinese tidal flats. Morphological description was also made based on the LM and SEM observation. Samples were collected from four locations in Korea, two in October 2006, one in July 2007, and one in July 2018, and seven location in China from June to July 2018. N. spartinetensis was firstly described by Sullvian & Reimer in 1975; Cells are lanceolate with narrow valve faces, 20-30 ㎛ long, 5-6 ㎛ wide, and the density of striae is 12-13 in 10 ㎛, and the terminal raphe ending curved in the same direction. N. spartinetensis has been previously reported from Europe and South America, and the present study has expanded its distribution to the Northeast Asia. In conclusion, the diversity of Korean marine benthic diatoms is still underestimated thus extensive further study of diatom taxonomy is needed.

  • Purpose : Mycoplasama pneumoniae is a leading cause of pneumonia and exacerbates other respiratory conditions such as asthma. Surfactant protein A(SP-A) is involved in surfactant physiology and surfactant structure, and plays a major role in innate host defense and inflammatory processes in the lung. In this study, SP-A mediated mycoplasma cidal activity. The candidate-gene approach was used to study the association between the SP-A gene locus and Mycoplasama pneumoniae pneumonia in the genetically homogeneous Korean population. Methods : PCR-cRFLP-based methodology was used to detect SP-A genotype. The forty nine children with Mycoplasama pneumoniae pneumonia were matched to 50 nomal neonates. Results : The specific frequencies for the alleles of the SP-A1 and SP-A2 gene in the study population were : $6A^2=21$ percent, $6A^3=45$ percent, $6A^4=11$ percent, $6A^8=9$ percent, $6A^{14}=8$ percent, 1A=11.3 percent, $1A^0=38$ percent, $1A^1=12.7$ percent, $1A^2=9.2$ percent, $1A^5=15.5$ percent, $1A^7=2.9$ percent, $1A^8=4.9$ percent, $1A^9=2.2$ percent, others=3.3 percent. The frequencies of specific genotypes such as $1A^2$ was higher than control group, significantly. Conclusion : $1A^2$ are susceptible factors for Mycoplasama pneumoniae pneumonia. We conclude that the SP-A gene locus($1A^2$) is an important determinant for predisposition to Mycoplasama pneumoniae pneumonia in children.
