Logistics has become a key element in a shipping firm's overall strategy, now that the concept of logistics has expanded into one that is more comprehensive and integrated. furthermore, the global shipping market is the most competitive market in the world. In this environment, shipping firms are using Logistics Information Systems (LIS), which help them to save time and reduce costs. As such, LIS has become a critical part of Korea's attempts to develop Its national logistics system and industry. In this light, this study attempted to empirically determine the critical elements necessary for effective shipping LIS implementation and to then analyze how these elements are related to actual logistics performance within the shipping industry. The research results show that the sample firms considered the following factors to be most Important to an effective LIS: the support of top management; an efficient and well-structured communication channel; a solid strategic implementation plan; and a high level of information analysis internally. Other factors mentioned as being somewhat significant included MIS organization and human resources, MIS discipline and training, software development capabilities, MIS organizational alignment, database management systems information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support The main problems with current shipping LIS include the expensive cost of systems, lack of standardized working processes, and weak organizational structures.

Mendeley reader count is good evidence of the early impact of scientific output since it appears before citations. This paper aims to scope and compare Mendeley readers of Library and Information Science (LIS) articles published from India and China. Mendeley readership data for the highly cited 1,000 articles in Web of Science are extracted using Webometric Analyst for both countries and are analysed using Excel and SPSS. The findings reveal that LIS articles that are published from China got more readers as compared to LIS articles published from India with an excess of 97 readers per paper on Mendeley. The occupational status of readers tells that PhD students are the top readers for both the countries' publications, followed by masters students. Discipline-wise readership shows that readers were spread across 29 different fields, with the highest readers from business, management and accounting, followed by computer science for both countries' publications. Location-wise readership depicts that the top engaged readers are from the United States for both the countries' publications. Finally, the study reports a positive association between citations and Mendeley bookmarks, justifying that Mendeley readership can be used to measure the early research impact of LIS scholarship in both countries.

문헌정보학 분야에서의 온라인교육은 그동안 대학 교육과정 혹은 대학간 컨소시엄을 통한 협력형 온라인 프로그램을 통해 지속적으로 확산되어 왔다. 하지만 최근 몇 년간 진행된 MOOCs의 출현과 발전은 전통적인 온라인교육과는 달리 수강 인원에 제한이 없이(Massive), 모든 사람이(Open), 무료로 온라인(Online) 환경에서 학습할 수 있는 학습자 중심의 교육강좌(Courses)란 점에서 미래교육의 새로운 패러다임으로 부각되고 있다. 문헌정보학 분야도 예외는 아니며 해외에서는 iSchool 대학을 중심으로 주요 문헌정보학 전공교과목을 MOOCs로 개설하는 현상이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 문헌정보학 교육에서의 MOOCs 활용 가능성을 조사하기 위해 국내 A 대학 문헌정보학과 전공 기초 교과목에 해외의 문헌정보학 MOOCs 강좌의 일부를 활용함으로써 사례조사를 실시하였다. 수강생을 대상으로 진행된 설문조사 및 포커스그룹 인터뷰 결과, 참가자들은 언어적 장벽은 있으나 MOOCs 수업 콘텐츠에 대한 흥미, 유용성 및 향후 다른 MOOCS 수강 의지에 모두 대체로 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 문헌정보학 교과과정에 MOOCs 활용방안에 대한 제언으로 교육적 가치 및 운영방식 확립, 학생들의 동기부여 및 문헌정보학 분야의 특성을 고려한 MOOCs 설계방안 마련 등의 필요성을 제시하였다.

지난 50년간 우리나라 문헌정보학은 외국의 이론과 기술을 별다른 여과과정 없이 도입해왔다. 연구방법론은 물론 연구주제까지도 우리 현실에 적용시키려는 경향이 우리나라 문헌정보학 연구의 주된 흐름이 되었다. 그렇지만 나라마다 발전단계나 문화적 전통이 다르기 때문에 우리나라 고유의 도서관 현장과 그 환경에 대한 이해의 부족은 실천적 연구를 수행하는데 더 큰 문제로 다가올 것이다. 따라서 연구자들은 외국 이론의 적용에 신중하여야 하며, 연구방법의 선택 역시 그 연구주제에 적합한 방법을 선택해야 할 것이다. 과거 우리나라에는 이런 식의 여과의 과정이 무시되어 왔다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 문헌정보학 연구는 도서관 현장과 밀접히 연관되어야 하며, 우리나라 문헌정보학의 이론과 실천은 우리 현실의 요구에 기초해야 한다. 우리나라에는 우리나라 도서관의 현실을 설명하고 개발할 수 있는 문헌정보학 이론이 필요한 것이다.

본 연구는 동일한 학문분야를 전공하는 연구자들의 연구행태를 분석하여 그 분야의 연구자들이 주로 이용하는 학술지들이 어떤 것들이 있는가를 조사하고 해당 대학도서관에서 필수적으로 구독해야 할 학술지 구독리스트를 제안하는 데 있다. 이러한 인용문헌 분석결과는 국내 문헌정보학과가 개설되어 있는 각 대학도서관에서 구독하고 있는 문헌정보학분야의 소장 학술지의 과부족을 파악하여 국내외 학술지 구독 선정을 위한 기준자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to improve mobile service in academic libraries that can support the real-time need of users. This paper consists of the literature research, present status research, case studies and questionnaire survey. Based on the literature review, present status research, case studies and survey, the managerial plans to expand mobile service are suggested as four aspects - development of service types, expansion of the facilities and collections, marketing and evaluation.

본 연구의 목적은 2023년 미국도서관협회(American Library Association, ALA)인가 문헌정보학 학위과정에서 제공하는 데이터 사서와 관련된 교과목의 강의계획서의 내용을 분석하는 것이다. 2023년 ALA인가 문헌정보학과에서 공개한 강의계획서 184개를 수집하였다. 데이터 사서의 주요 역량인 데이터 관리와 큐레이션, 데이터 분석 및 시각화, 메타데이터, 정보 서비스, 도서관 경영, 연구 방법론, 학술 도서관, 컴퓨터 프로그래밍, 데이터베이스 과목 등을 식별하였다. 이에 기반하여 데이터 사서와 관련된 강의계획서 127개를 식별한 후, 강의계획서의 내용을 집중 분석하였다. 구체적으로 교과목 명, 교과목 목표, 교과목 설명, 교육 내용, 과제(assignments)를 집중 분석하였다. 데이터 사서 양성을 위한 국내외 교과목의 비교를 위하여 국외 61개 문헌정보학과에서 개설한 교과목 명 3,045개, 교과목 설명 2,559개와 국내 37개 문헌정보학과에서 개설한 1,330개의 교과목 명을 수집 및 분석하였다. 국내외 문헌정보학과 모두 데이터 사서 양성을 위한 교과목을 골고루 개설하였음을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 문헌정보학과에서 데이터 사서 양성을 위한 교육 과정의 개발 및 개정 시 논의의 시작점이 될 수 있는 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

Local languages based information storage and retrieval system is essential for any online digital repository system. This paper reports the development of an interface in Bengali that allows users not only browsing and searching Indic-script based documents but also allows administrator performing various system level operations. This paper briefly describes the origin and key characteristics of Indic-scripts along with their encoding in Unicode standard with special reference to Bengali language. It also demonstrates the development processes of Bengal-script based information representation and retrieval (IRR) system viz. BURA (Burdwan University Research Archive) using different open standard and open source software (OSS) including different factors essential for building such successful Indic-script based multilingual digital libraries. The suggested strategies may help digital library developers to design an appropriate multi-script based information access services in any other Indic-script based languages.

Around the world, public access to information plays a crucial role in improving lives and facilitating development. People, technology, and information, which also represent common themes of i-Schools, are deemed relevant in adapting to these global challenges. The main purpose of this research is to identify the orientation of curriculums in LIS Schools in South Korea toward technology, information, and people for graduate schools of library and information science. This research also correlates the directions of the schools with the UN 2030 Agenda. Using the Wilson model, this study examines the orientation of courses offered. The result of classification and content analysis revealed that courses offered are leaning towards technology and information content. Courses reviewed in the light of developing knowledge and skills of information professionals to facilitate the fulfillment of global goals can make libraries more responsive to the changing times.

문헌정보학의 발전과정을 살펴보면 문헌정보학 연구가 사회과학의 전반적 변화에 적절하게 대응하지 못하였음을 알 수 있다. 일례로 다른 사회과학분야의 다양한 방법론적 실험에 대하여, 우리 분야에서는 여전히 실증주의적 연구경향이 지배적 영향력을 행사하고 있음을 지적할 수 있다. 이 글은 문헌정보학 연구가 우리사회에서 문헌정보학적 설명을 필요로 하는 다양한 여러 가지 키워들을 분석하고 해석하는 데 일익을 담당하여야 한다는 점을 밝힌다. 그 한 예로 최근에 우리 분야에서도 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 담론분석의 응용가능성과 유용성을 논증한다. 이를 위하여 우리 분야에 있어서 연구의 성격을 결정지은 역사적 배경을 고찰하고, 담론분석의 간략한 전개양상과 담론분석의 일반적인 원칙들을 살펴본 후, 문헌정보학에 있어서 이러한 관점의 적용가능성을 가늠한다
