This study deals with a Logistics Information System(LIS) in recording industry. Many companies developed a LIS to minimize logistics cost and improve customer services. However, due to the diversity of distribution structure and the complexity of logistics process, developing an LIS in recording industry is complicated. This paper analyses the current situation in domestic recording industry and presents a framework of LIS. This system is composed of the front office related to the logistics processes and the back office related to the rest of the processes. This system can be used to develop an LIS in logistics industry. Some examples are given and discussed to validate the proposed LIS.

Based on the design of the LIS of GuangZhou and BeiJing, this paper discusses the resolution of the LIS with the kernel of process management. It applies the idea of workflow in the management supporting stratum, applies the process-oriented mechanism in the definition, coordination, supervision and control of the management process. The scheme has the character of information-media-oriented, work process dynamic changing supported, application system extended and restructure supported and is independent of the running environment of specific work.. Due to the previous character, the LIS is flexible, useable, elastic and able to support the dynamic application.

KINITI collects a wide variety of information resources such as serials, monographs, reports, microfilms/fiches etc. in the field of science, technology, and industry. This is an overview of KINITI-LIS(Library Information System). KINITI-LIS has been developed using IBM 3090/150 E by KINITI staffs. Subsystems of KINITI-LIS are as follows ; acquisition system, cataloging system, retrieval system, circulation system, serials control system.

The information technology(IT) development of telecommunication, along with the informationalization over the world, enables the firms to process their inner and outer operations through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system. And the concept of logistics has become more important to the enterprises in strategic sense because it had aggrandized itself to more comprehensive and integrative concept. Also the world shipping market is more competitive than any other market. In these environment, to maintain competitve power, shipping firms process operations by Logistics Information system(LIS), And then, reduce the working processes, working time and its costs. So the LIS has become more important in developing our national logistics system and industry. Therefore, this study purposes on empirically analyzing the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances in the shipping industry. Considering environments of Shipping logistics information system, this study sets up the research model and hypothesis to examine the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances. We used the field data on the 163 numbers of firms(29 overseas shipping companies and 133 forwarding Agency) to get the empirical evidence. According to the study results, The shipping LIS activation factors which the sample firms recognized as important: were top manager's support, well structured communication channel, strategic plan's connection and inner informationalization level. And IS organization ＆ human resources, IS discipline ＆ training, software development, IS organizational alignment, database management system, information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support represent partially significant. Also, the current shipping LIS's main problems are expensive system cost, standardization of working process's, institution's imperfection and system's interaction defect. So these problems must be improved to activate shipping LIS.

LIS's of cis and trans-methyl-2-phenylcyclopropanecarboxylate, cis and trans-t-butyl-2-phenylcyclopropanecarboxylate, cis and trans-N,N-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxamide, trans-2-phenylcyclopropyl methyl ketone and trans-2-phenylcyclopropyl t-butyl ketone have been studied. The LIS's hold the McConnell-Robertson relation and are mainly influenced by the steric effect. LIS's of trans isomers are larger than those of cis isomers. In trans isomers, the LIS's decrease in the following order: methyl ketone > methyl ester > N,N-dimethyl amide > t-butyl ketone${\sim}$t-butyl ester.

The distribution of volume fraction, mean diameter and number density of soot particles are measured quantitatively in a co-flow ethylene diffusion flame using a simultaneous LII/LIS measurement technique. The LII/LIS system and the measured values are, respectively, calibrated and evaluated by comparing to the informations obtained from laser light. extinction/scattering experiments, LII signal shows some sensitivity to the laser light intensity when laser power density exceeds a certain value(threshold). It is also found that there is an optimal laser intensity and a delay time in order to obtain the best result using the simultaneous LII/LIS measurement technique.

The purpose of the present study is to empirically and theoretically assess the logistics information systems (LIS) success in a quasi-voluntary IS use context. It is important to understand what factors impact the successful use of LIS. The research model is basically based on the framework of IS success proposed by DeLone & McLean(1992) and Seddon(1997). Structural modeling techniques were applied to data collected by questionnaire from 203 LIS users. The results show that user satisfaction play a significant role in influencing the system dependency. The results also revealed that user characteristics is directly affected by perceived usefulness, system quality and information quality, and indirectly influenced by user characteristics.

This paper describes the organization and the file structure of KINITI-LIS that is the Library Information System developed by KINITI. KINIT-LIS consists of five subsystems that are aquisition system, cataloging system, retrieval system, circulation system and serials control system, and the primary structure of underlying files is VSAM.

Laboratory information system (LIS) is a key tool to manage laboratory data in clinical pathology. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer. The authors suggests that this system based on down-sized computer could provide a progressive approach to total LIS based on local area network, and the implemented system could serve as a model for other hospital's LIS for routine hematology.
