Optical Characteristic Analysis of Bilge Water for Developing an Oil Content Meter (유분검출기 개발을 위한 빌지 배출수의 광특성 분석)

  • Since 1998 for protection of marine pollution, all ships must have oil filtering equipment and 15ppm bilge alarms which satisfy Requirements of MARPOL 73/78. Oily-water separator used in machinery area of ships usually consists of two parts; one is filtering equipment and the other is oil content meter(OCM). This study presents optical characteristics of bilge were acquired form oil content sensing module. The oil content sensing module consists of IR-LED light source, photo-diode light receivers, and a glass tube for bilge water sample. The experiment with the bilge water demonstrates various valuable optical properties. These optical properties suggest notes and guides to make the low-cost, easy operation and good performance commercial type OCM that satisfy the requirements of MARPOL 73/78.

  • This system is controlled by PC application programs through USB interface. PC application programs make image files, user's files , sound files and option files. And these files are downloaded to external memory card of this system. The other PC application programs monitor status of DARC, GPS, LED module of this system. The PC application programs help user manage this system efficiently.

  • In the outdoor advertising and industrial sites, are trying to implement the LED electric bulletin board system that is based on image processing in order to express a variety of intention in real time. Recently, in various field, rather than simple text representation, the importance of intuitive communication using images is increasing. Thus, instead of outputting the simple input information for communication, a system that can output a real-time information being sought. Therefore, the system is directed to overcoming by converting the problem of mapping an image on a variety of conventional LED display that can not be output images, the possible image output formats. Using an LED of low power, it has developed to output the efficient messages and images within a limited resources. This paper provides a system capable of managing the LED display on the wireless network. Atmega2560, Wi-Fi module, using the server and Android applications client, rather than printing a text only, it is a system to reduce the load generated image output character output in to the conversion process as can be managed by the server.

  • In this paper, P2P VLC Sound Transmission Technology between Underwater Object of 5cm Distance. It proposed a P2P VLC sound transmission technology, and developed a P2P VLC sound transmission technology between LED transmitter and PD(Photo Detector) receiver of 15cm distance. Under the assumption that the underwater environment, it performs a P2P VLC sound transmission experiment between LED transmitter and PD receiver for sound transmission, and demonstrated the usefulness of the proposed technology. In this paper, P2P VLC Sound Transmission Technology between Underwater Object of 5cm Distance, and proposed technology is expected to be widely used in various fields because it can use P2P VLC sound transmission technology between underwater object in the underwater environment.

  • The object of this paper is to propose a method to solve resulting heat in using numerous modulized watt-class LEDs in MCPCB as lighting device. To use LED for lighting, the chip needs to have a large capacity, resulting in extra heat in P-N connection area. To solve this problem, a Pottier Module, heat-sink panel and a fan was installed to measure variations in the temperature. Additionally, temperature variation characteristics were observed according to the heat conductor panel connecting cooling module and heat-sink panel, insulator and thermal grease. As a result, the type and amount of heat-sink panel was the most important facto. The fan would effect the temperature by max. $18[^{\circ}C]$ while other materials affected the temperature by $2{\sim}3[^{\circ}C]$, showing significant difference.

  • 제17회 한국국제사인 디자인전(KOSIGN)2009가 지난 11월 12일부터 15일까지 서울 삼성동 코엑스 A,B홀에서 'All of Visual'을 주제로 열렸다. 올해 전시회에는 디지털프린팅 시스템, 미디어 및 잉크, 제작시스템, 후가공 및 장비, LED 모듈 및 조명, 디스플레이 등 다양한 제품들이 나와 IT기술 접목에 따른 디지털 사이니즈까지 사인산업의 변화와 미래를 한눈에 엿볼 수 있는 행사가 되었다. 올해 코사인전은 200개 사, 1000개 부스 규모로 열렸으며 국내외 바이어 및 일반 참관객이 2만여 명에 달했다. 특히 올해 전시회는 친환경 신기술 제품이 집중적으로 소개되었다.

  • We discussed the main issues of 10GHz Receiver packaging. High frequency structure simulations and circuit simulations for TO-CANs led to a new design for 10GHz optical receiver module packaging. The simulation results were compared to the measured laboratory data. The proposed package has low cost and easy manufacture process far mass production. Using this package, we had a good optical to electrical conversion (OE) characteristic at a data rate of 10Gbps.

LED Sensitive Light System Development by Brain-wave (LED감성조명 장치 개발을 통한 뇌파분석)

  • The purpose of this experiment is to analyze the basic status of brain. Which are consist of rest, attention and concentration, of the brain by measuring the temperature of color by changing RGB color after manufacturing LED-illumination stand. Basic status (rest, attention and concentration) of experimenter were measured temperature of colors having three difference temperature like as $2,300^{\circ}K$, $4,000^{\circ}K$ and $6,000^{\circ}K$. The results was shown that experimenter feels more comfortable and relaxation by decreasing the temperature of color. For example we can see the little increase of concentration index at $4,000^{\circ}K$ condition and we can estimate that right brain can be more activated at the $4,000^{\circ}K$ condition. But we can not find out any different at the $6,000^{\circ}K$ condition. Main cause of no difference from the color temperature was the similarity of color temperature under the general fluorescent lamp. And interface temperature of radiant heat design results LED and PCB was approximately 80 degrees to COMSOL Multiphysics, and changed until approximately 50 degrees until a floor plane of PCB, and verification as arranged chip LED to metal PCB, and it was possible, and a near radiant heat design was confirmed to an approximate value of, as a result, acid manufacture.

Effects of Lettuce Cultivation Using Optical Fiber in Closed Plant Factory (폐쇄형 식물공장내 태양광 파이버를 이용한 상추 재배효과)

  • This study was conducted to the improvement of solar light-based artificial light supply system and effect of lettuce cultivation. The artificial light supply system was consisted of units such as light source, power, system measurement and controller. The light source supply was composed of a solar transmitter and an LED lamp. The power supply consisted of an leakage breaker, SMPS, LED controller and relay. The solar transmitter was made of a quartz optical fiber with optimal light transmission. Artificial light used white lamp among LEDs. System measurement and control consisted of touch screen, Zigbee communication module and light quantity sensor. The results of test confirmed that the LED light is automatically activated when the intensity measured by the light intensity sensor is 200 μmolm-2s-1 or less. Moreover, the leaf length, root length, chlorophyll content and root fresh weight of optical fiber treatment was hight than LED lamp treatment. Therefore, it can be inferred that the energy-saving solar light collector device can be effective in the indoor lettuce production. However, the use of LED lamp is also recommended to assure the availability of sufficient sunlight in cloudy and rainy days.
