Smartphone-based Wavelength Control LED Lighting System according to the Sleep-Wake Cycle of Occupants (재실자의 수면-각성 주기에 따른 스마트폰 기반 파장제어 LED 조명시스템)

  • Melatonin hormone involved in human's circadian rhythm adjustment sensitively responds to light's specific short wavelength ratio. A shift worker's circadian rhythm disturbance and sleep disorder are caused by the existing lighting conditions, whose short wavelength ratio is fixed. The life pattern of a shift worker changes irregularly because of irregular working hours and the same lighting environment; thus, his/her concentration is reduced. For such a reason, negative effects ensue to the detriment of healthy everyday life, including a high risk of accidents or having unsound sleep after leaving work. A smartphone-based wavelength control LED lighting system that targets shift workers and that can easily measure and control lighting suitable for wake-sleep cycle, according to working hours and closing hours, is proposed in this paper. First, after the light characteristics of LED lighting that changes depending on light control ratio are measured through the color sensor installed on the smartphone and the externally-linked Mini-Spectrometer, they are stored in the database. Based on the stored optical characteristics data, the measurement module and light control module are implemented. Lighting is offered using a control ratio having the maximum rate of short wavelength in consideration of the target illuminance, classified according to work type by identifying working hours as time when waking is required for shift workers. After a shift work leaves work, the amount of lighting is varied, using a control ratio having a minimum short wavelength rate so that a shift worker can enter the sleep state naturally.

  • This paper describes an LED module for a desk lamp using 1[W] high flux while LEDs. The optimum length of the module is obtained from the lighting simulation of the target area of $500{\times}500[mm]$ on the desk, which in turn determines an optimum separation between LEDs. The main issue is to find the optimum separation which gives good illuminance uniformity and high coefficient of utilization at at various reflector structures. Two module configuations of linear and ring types are compared. As a result, good illuminance uniformity is obtained in the case of the ring module. The mofied twin type, however, gives better performance than the ring module, and shows the most performance at an separation angle of around $30^{\circ}$.

  • Recently, infrared (IR) and near-infrared (NIR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were widely used for home medical applications owing to its low output power and wide exposed area for curing. For deep penetration of the light under the skin, multiple LEDs with wavelengths of 700~10,000 nm were located on a flexible printed circuit board. When multiple wavelengths of LEDs were soldered on a circuit board, the lifetime of LED module highly depends on LEDs with a short lifetime. The mean time to failure (MTTF) was able to calculate with the experimental results under high temperature and the Arrhenius model. The results of this study could help companies to approve the warranty of LED modules and its product.

  • In this paper, we design, fabricate, and test the performance of a cabin filter with LED modules of composite wavelengths containing UV-A and UV-C. Germs and air farms of the manufactured cabin filter confirmed sterilization capability in the sterilization test, and special chambers were manufactured to verify organic material decomposition capability in the organic compound decomposition test. Using colkates as photocatalytic was proved to be superior to using metal mash. The sterilization and air purification capabilities of the cabin filter produced throughout this study were verified through a similar environmental test.

  • 지구과학 분야에서 가장 어렵게 느껴지는 내용인 천문분야는 다른 과학 분야와 달리 탐구 대상이 천체들이 먼거리에 있고, 쉽게 관측하기 어려우며, 실험실에서 동일실험과 반복 실험이 불가능하여, 추상적이고 직접 관측하기 어려운 개념에 관한 연구들이 많다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 레이저 커팅기를 사용해 지구과학교과 중 별자리를 구성하는 별들의 상대적 거리를 수학적으로 계산하는 과정과 고등학교 물리교과 중 LED 광원의 원리를 알고 LED 모듈을 제작하여 최종적으로 아름답고 과학적으로 가치가 있는 입체 별자리 교구를 제작하는 형태의 STEAM 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 시범학교 적용을 하였다. 이에 지능정보화 사회에 발맞춰 천문학 지식을 창의 교육의 형태로 교육하는 새로운 교육법을 실현한 연구결과들을 발표하고자 한다. 또한 개발한 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하기 위해 STEAM 관련 태도 검사와 논리적 사고력 검사 및 만족도 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 개발된 프로그램이 STEAM 태도 검사와 논리적 사고력에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 천문수업에 대한 학생들의 인식은 긍정적이었다. 따라서 후속 연구에서는 다양한 학년 및 위계에 맞는 프로그램의 개발과 다양한 지역 등의 현장 적용을 통한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 현대의 스마트폰 및 태블릿pc등을 가능하게 만든 집적 기술 중의 하나는 3차원 집적 회로(3D-IC)와 같은 패키징 기술이다. 이러한 첨단 3차원 집적 기술은 메모리집적을 통한 대용량 메모리 모듈 개발뿐만 아니라, 메모리와 프로세서의 집적, high-end FPGA, Back side imaging (BSI) 센서 모듈, MEMS 센서와 ASIC 집적, High Bright (HB) LED 모듈 등에 적용되고 있다. 3D-IC의 3차원 모듈 제작 시에는 기존에 발생하지 않았던 여러 가지 파괴 모드들이 발생하고 있는데 Thermal/Photonic Emission 장비 등 기존의 2차원 결함분리 (Fault Isolation) 기술로는 첨단의 3차원 적층 제품들에서 발생하는 불량을 비파괴적으로 혹은 3차원적으로 분리하는 것이 불가능하므로, 비파괴 3차원 결함 분리 기술은 향후 선행 제품 적기 개발에 매우 필수적인 기술이다. 본 연구는 3D-IC 반도체의 비파괴적 내부결함 검사를 위하여 가시광선-근적외선 대역(351nm~1770nm)의 InGaAs (Indium Galium Arsenide) 계열 영상검출기 (imaging detector)를 사용하여 분광 시스템 광학 설계를 통한 초분광 영상 기반 검출 모듈을 제작하였다. 제작된 초분광 영상 기반 검출 모듈을 이용하여 구리 회로 위에 실리콘 웨이퍼가 3단 적층 된 반도체 더미 샘플의 초분광 영상을 촬영하였으며, 촬영된 초분광 영상에 대하여 Chemometrics model 기반의 분석기술을 적용하여 실리콘 웨이퍼 내부의 집적 구조에 대한 검사가 가능함을 확인하였다.

Design and Implementation of Smart LED Bicycle Helmet using Arduino (아두이노를 이용한 스마트 LED 자전거 헬멧의 설계 및 구현)

  • The number of cyclists is on the steady growing for leisure and transportation with the increasing interest in health and environment. However, the number of cycling accidents is also increasing steadily due to the lack of safety awareness and regulations. Focusing on this issue, we propose and develop a smart LED bicycle helmet in order to reduce a risk of cycling accident. The main idea is to change status of the LED on the helmet based on the bicycle's movement and provide motion information of the bicycle for others. To control the LED lights on the helmet, we use the Arduino board which communicates with the LED module through serial connection. We decide motion information by using the values from acceleration and GPS sensors of the smartphone. To receive this information from the smartphone, the control board and the smartphone are connected by Bluetooth.
